I just moved to the area and came here for an inspection/cleaning and test fire of my handgun. It wasn't a major job, but I wanted to feel good about the piece since I haven't used it in the past two years. This place is great, the staff are really helpful and knowledgeable. An employee's dog was in the shop who absolutely made my day! They also have archery supplies, so maybe I'll go back to learn more about crossbows. I would come here for range hours, I'll be back for sure. I've had men in gun stores and ranges look at me sideways or treat me like I've never held a gun because I'm a plus size lady. In fact, the gun I had them help me with was "too strong for a woman" according to the original seller. The 717 team didn't judge me or make me feel like I didn't belong, they were very chill and talked to me like a person. Prices weren't bad. My husband arrived when they opened on a Sunday morning with our own firearms, ammo, ear muffs, etc. We only purchased the lane rental and the targets. Pricing was fair. The facility was clean and the range was free of shells. We swept up after ourselves. We had a small issue with the target controls, but they were quickly fixed when we grabbed someone from the front desk. read more

Gun safety class was a good thing. It's a great idea to have everyone trained so that if they just happen to come upon a gun they know what to do and how to respond. It really isn't just for gun owners because it's usually the non owner that can cause the biggest surprise by not knowing what they should not have done. Even if the owner should not have had it where they could have found it in the first place. The double edged sword! read more

This place is huge! I was not expecting 717-A to be so big. I think the location was being renovated or something because some items were missing off the rack. However, they have a huge supply of weapons, hunting gear, tactical gear, and accessories. If you are looking for something in particular they are sure to have it. I made my purchase online and picked it up in store, that same day I fired it at their in door range. You can purchase in the store as well but you have limited items. If you do not see it there, you can have them order it online. The in door range was pretty awesome, clean, and easy to navigate. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. It's in a great location with tons of parking. You may even catch a food truck or two. Plan a day with friends and have fun. As a recommendation, I highly recommend an indoor or outdoor rifle range because of how loud they are opposed to handguns. read more

Visited on Black Friday. Wife didn't have drivers license with her, so they didn't let her shoot. Oh well, drove 100 miles and no shooting. She just went and waited for me in the car. I had a great time, they were business like, fairly efficient. Prices reasonable. In and out in 30 minutes. Tips: hope you are a dog person, owners 2 large friendly dogs roam the shop. I took the Shooting 101 class with Jason D. and John (I can't remember his last name). I was a clean slate going in and I didn't know what to expect. I was very nervous, but the staff and instructors put me at ease immediately and helped me with the right gun on which to learn and helped me through everything. The class was really easy to follow. Jason is very good with demonstrations and they both explain the mechanics of shooting very well! They are a good team! They encouraged all of us and pointed out what we did well and at the same time helped us improve our accuracy. Tonight I took the Shooting 102 class, to learn how to reload quickly and what to do in emergencies when I have to load quickly. We also did a lot more shooting, and the class was a little over 2.5 hours vs the 101 was 1 hour. The instructors covered a lot of material in an organized way, and then at the range, walked us through the shooting drills. They made sure we all had one on one instruction for the specific skill we were learning tonight. Tonight was three instructors, Jason, John, and a lady (I'm embarrassed I don't remember her name). Her background and instruction is very impressive. I'm very impressed with the professionalism, quality of the instruction, and the skill and backgrounds of the instructors. It's a first class set-up. As a beginner (and nervous one at that!) I highly recommend 717 Armory to anyone wanting to try something new, or for anyone. read more

Facility is clean, very clean. Guys inside are very personable and easy to work with. Review and sign an online waiver, either ahead of time or upon arrival. Hand over your DL and you're on the range. Targets and ammo (limited right now d/t COVID craziness) available for purchase and lane fees were very reasonable. Had a small issue with one of our new 9mm (purchased elsewhere), but the guys behind the counter were very helpful and got that fixed pretty quick. We brought our own "ears and eyes", but looked like it was easy enough to rent should you need protective gear. 25' and 50' ranges available. Went first thing on a Sunday, got right on but it was filling up fast. Noted a list of classes available and a friendly dog in the front area.....we didn't shop, but cases looked stocked if you're in the market for something new. read more

Ran in here while I was local for some odds and ends. I walked in and I guess it was an off time- I was the only customer! The guys were tripping over each other to help me. One of the items I was looking for was only available in open box- they asked me if I minded (uh,no.), Then charged me less than 50% of the actual cost (uh, ya got more at that price???)!!!! read more

He was so helpful and didn't make us feel unwelcome at all! He answered any and all questions and made sure we were comfortable before shooting. The issue is the prices on 3 items I was after were $75 more than the highest price I found locally. I support small business but im also not going to spend foolishly. The service is awful! They are very rude . I had a party of 6 and called before coming in to make sure there was lanes for us . We showed up and they said we don't have lanes for y'all . Decent shop and range. Definitely one of the cleaner and nicer shops and staff in the region. Unfortunately their prices are far too high for some items. I was a little taken back when I was inquiring about purchasing a particular firearm (fn 509 tactical). They quoted me a price of roughly $1100 after taxes and fees. That price was wayyy too high. So I left the shop and drove straight to spar arms in camp hill and what do you know they had the same gun I was searching for. So I bought it for $920 taxes and fees included. Nearly $200 saved because you guys wanna price your stock much higher than it's worth! Buyer beware, do your research and search around before you buy and check out spar arms. Great deals and very nice staff or just buy online. read more

Took in a slide to have the front site adjusted. When I picked the slide up, the cost of the repair was $40 with no explanation of services provided. I was charged 30 minutes labor. (There is no minimum charge.) I asked what was done that it took 30 minutes. I was told I would get a call on Monday with an explanation. Got no call. I called in and was told the smith was out and I would receive a call the following morning. No call. I called a final time and spoke to John. John said to the best of his knowledge it took his professional gun smith a full 30 minutes to tighten a single bolt and straighten a site. That's the last time I will go there for anything. I will advise my friends to do the same. read more
