We ended up going to La 72 Croisette a couple times while we were in Cannes because honestly the location is hard to beat. It's right by the beach next to the Martinez hotel, so it's perfect for sitting outside, having a drink, and people watching for a while. The first time we only stopped for drinks, but we came back again later and I ended up getting pizza and fries which fully hit the spot after a long day walking around. Yes, it's expensive, but also... it's Cannes, right by the Croisette, so that's kind of expected. At least the food was decent and atmosphere actually made it feel worth it. 72 is one of the more reasonable Oceanside restaurants and bars located in Cannes. The food and drinks were fine, prices lower than most other options in the area. Conveniently located across the street from the Hotel Martinez. One knock on them is the service, very slow and confused at best. A few issues with the bills and payments. This place was very obsessed with one's style, clothing, and country of origin. Very off putting and unwelcoming experience. We were seating for drinks and waiting over 10 minutes to be served. A couple wearing flashy clothing and brands sat next to us, a server came out, looked us up and down, then the new couple, and served them without even acknowledging us. I will never recommend this business to a soul. Good luck extracting cash out of Gucci shirts and hats that were probably knock off to begin with. Never will return read more

The location is great, but everything else is just not that great, prices are high, they have almost nothing good, deserts I've tried them all, are simply purchased from the store and sold there, apart from croixant they don't do anything themselves. We ate here on a whim one.evening for dinner, and because it was close to our hotel. We had the special (lobster bolognese) and it was not only amazing but also affordable. Our cocktails were yummy and the service was great too. We were a walk up (they were crowded) and they managed to get us in at a nice outside table with a beautiful view. Don't hesitate to try it! On Thursday the 30th of may in the evening we sat at the outside seating at the restaurant for dinner. Pierre was our waiter. During the seating my wife felt that the chair that made of rattan material is got caught in her sweater and hurt her. The defect in the chair tore out a thread from the expensive sweater as shown in the photo. Also Pier was a witness to the all situation. Pier gave me the business card with an e-mail address and promised us that they will compensate us. I send them 2 e-mail and no own ever answered us. Shame on you!! Was expecting terrible to okay, but was pleasantly surprised - Stopped by Cannes on our way to Nice and walked their promenade. It was full of the usual suspects: high end stores (Gucci, Chanel, etc.), even higher-end hotels, and restaurants geared to tourists. I had the vegetarian burger, while the husband had the cheeseburger - Both came with a side of fries and side salad. My "burger" ended up being a portobello mushroom and not a meatless patty, but it was quite tasty! Husband wasn't a fan of his - He ordered his burger medium-rare and it came out medium-well to well-done, plus he reported the meat as dry and not flavorful. I can, and do, recommend the vegetarian burger - Plus their interior is welcoming and the service incredibly friendly - Just maybe don't order the cheeseburger and you'll enjoy :) read more

One advantage 72 Croisette has one advantage : it's open very late. I'm not sure how late, but quite often, when you're walking around Cannes in the middle of the night, trying to get a drink or a snack, and most other places are closed, this place is open. Like several other bars along the Croisette, the beer and drinks are more expensive than a couple of blocks away, and this is a place you only go to when it's the only option - but it can be nice to pop by for a final drink before bed. The live keyboardist playing there is a kitschy bonus. read more
