As some of you may know, I absolutely loathe the "full-service" gas stations that exist in Oregon and New Jersey. However, the attendants at this station are all very friendly, helpful and kind; something that is very uncommon in the industry. Sure, the gas here is a bit more expensive, but I'll gladly pay it to have a pleasant refueling experience. Sometimes they even clean your windows! This is seriously way beyond what I was expecting, but hey, it's great!

Once she ran the quote, she said that based on the type of car & what we were potentially needing that it was "too much labor" "over 5 hours worth" & also stated and I quote "no one is going to want to do this." I politely let her know that was okay & we were happy to do business with another auto shop that was willing to help. I let her know her comment rubbed me the wrong way. She apologized, which I appreciate, but she then justified it by saying she should "know better than to answer the phone so close to closing time" & that she had been at work since 7:30am and was tired. I had such a wonderful experience at this AMPM location today! The gentleman Steve who helped me at…read morethe counter was genuinely one of the kindest, most cheerful people I've encountered at any store. He greeted me with a big smile and was eager to help from the moment I walked in. When he noticed I didn't have an AMPM rewards card, he even scanned his own card so I could get discounts, completely unprompted. That kind of generosity from an employee is rare and really touched me. He went so far above and beyond what was expected of him. I left feeling really uplifted, and honestly, that's not something you expect from a quick convenience store stop. This employee is a true asset to this location.
