Ginger does a wonderful job of making people feel welcome and all of the instructors I've taken - on getting a feel for where their students are at "skill" wise as well as safety - checking in if any yoginis have injuries, etc. If you live in the 21st century you know that fitness classes are expensive. Ginger often does discounts around holidays that included $10 classes for $100 - a steal for these kind of classes and makes it accessible for those who maybe can't afford this all the time. I had been dealing with fertility issues for the last year, and was experiencing unbearable stress and anxiety. After just one visit with Kuan I felt the tightness in my chest going away and my anxiety disappearing. After just five visits I was pregnant. :) I continue to see Kuan every week. The experience is always very calming, and restful, and balancing. The office is always impeccably clean and welcoming. They have a huge selection of books in the waiting room that you can borrow on a weekly basis. They have bottled water. They have soothing relaxation music in all the rooms. The treatment beds are clean, comfortable, and heated. Kuan himself could not be any nicer or more accommodating. He starts each visit discussing your current state and makes adjustments to your treatment as necessary. Each acupuncture session also includes an acupressure massage (which is wonderful.) You don't have to be "into" every principle of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Qi, energy meridians, etc in order to feel the effectiveness of acupuncture. In fact, I started my visits as a pretty big skeptic. But whatever Kuan does, works! He helped relieve my stress and made me feel more balanced. And most importantly: he helped me get pregnant! I'm continuing to see him once a week and I look forward to every visit. My best friend has also started going to Tai Chi Acupuncture & Wellness Center and she also loves it. I called Robin at the last minute for an appointment, and even though I was a first time client she…read morestill agreed to work me in, so long as I was willing to share my time with her 4-month old granddaughter. That worked out much better than I imagined it would. She barely missed a beat between poses while she tended to the baby's needs and then back to mine. If I hadn't been in so much pain going in, I might not have gone for it and would have missed out on a great massage. If you've never had Thai massage, it can most easily be described as passive yoga, but that doesn't really do it justice. Robin's technique and delivery was great, she is very personable, and she wants to make sure your comfortable, yet still getting the full benefit of the treatment. Her prices are VERY reasonable, especially the introductory rate. I just wish her regular sessions offered were longer, but then again, Thai massage takes a lot of physical effort. I'm not into a lot of the traditional eastern healing and Robin didn't make me feel like I had to learn a whole new language or accept a whole new culture just to enjoy my massage. I also took in a yoga class that same evening and the class was small and intimate. It was, as advertised, a beginning yoga class, but I was able to get what I needed from it, as it was geared to novices (from a pose description POV) yet allowed for plenty of stretching and challenge where I needed it. Will I be back? Definitely. Will I encourage friends and strangers to go? You betcha!
