Through a roofing company, they were contracted and dropped off a huge red bin. The roofing company dumped lots of old roofing shingles and some trash. The color of the bin stood out and it was great advertising for this company. Price is reasonable and the bin looked fairly new and clean. At the end of the day, the bin was picked up and taken away. I'm so honored to be the 1st to review this new company / business. It was EXACTLY what I wanted, searched for a company that helped me with my cluttering issues. Edgar promised the services in a very timely manner. I needed a company that hauled junk away, BUT hated the fact that a lot of items would be dump at the waste facilities. I had a lot of items that were still new, sealed or close to new condition. He also had people that are mindful of things I wanted to keep, so they worked with me on that, too. He had two trucks, one for donations and one for the dump. Filled both so quickly. What separates this company from the rest is that Edgar PERSONALLY delivers AND distribute directly to underprivileged communities. This alone made my decision to choose this company! People who needs to declutter or live the minimal lifestyle... this company is for you. Rest assured that your former belongings will go to the community that NEEDS it. Regular donations won't reach them... donation facilities re-sell items, which some families don't have the money to buy. My first move, was to independence, fun and easy. My second move, owned more stuff, still young, ok i've got this. The third move, was with my spouse, kids, Grandma, pets, furniture and it was a very hard and stressful labor of love. 25 wonderful year later, the nest is empty...well not really empty. Just feeble us, me and my spouse in a house, full of accumulated stuff, and we now have to move. Overwhelmed, we looked up on yelp, for movers that empty out everything for you. This is how we found Edgar of 808 Junk Away. He gave us an estimate to empty inside and outside the house, full of furniture, and accumulation, in one full haul, possibly one and a quarter haul. The charge is by the haul and additional hauls are by quarters (something like that). It was more than fair, and we agreed . On top of that, he helped us get rid of two old cars in our yard, and even helped us move 20 plastic box containers of our necessities, to our new residence across the other side of town, at no extra cost. The most important thing that came out of this for us, was meeting and working with Edgar. He was so empathetic to our situation. We were really embarrassed and overwhelmed by the mess of what we accumulated. Edgar made us feel comfortable and normal. We also learned that Edgar contributes items left behind, such as clothing, kitchen items, toys, household goods, to homeless families. We love this because rather than donating it to the big thrifty stores that sell it, he donates it directly to families in need. I also need to mention, the day of our move, Edgar did a last minute inspection of what we left behind. He told us we still have valuables we need to take. It was my spouses giant water bottle, filled with quarters, I'm guessing about $500. After we moved out leaving all behind, Edgar found some saving bonds we left behind and kept it for us! We wish nothing but the best for Edgar and 808 Junk Away. For what seemed like the most stressful time in our lives, it all turned out good. We are ever so thankful. read more

While their pricing for hauling was very competitive, I was especially and pleasantly surprised by their low standalone labor rate for loading a series of rolloff containers.
