This is a very well run and organized flea market! Lots of food and lots of vendors! They charge entry by the person and not the car like other places...we went on a Saturday and entrance was free. We were told by shop owner that Sunday was the day to go and be sure that ALL booths were open! Lots of activities for kids as well! read more

Super fun and lively environment to visit, family friendly too! It gave off a fair vibe with the music and the tons of food options. I will say, it is not as cheap as I was expecting it to be lol 2 quesa-birrias: $26 1 mineral preparada (mock tail michelada): $13 But this wouldn't hold me back from visiting again. Everything tasted great and vendors were super friendly. There was a huge patio section where banda music was playing (not live ,but sound was great) and I wouldn't be surprised if that turns into a baile if enough people are around. I'd love to be around for that lol Entry fee for adults $2 . They are pet friendly, but it costs and additional $10 to bing your dog Cons: lack of merchandise variety. So many vendors were selling similar things. I did come on a Saturday and a lot of stands were closed, so likely Sundays have more to offer. read more

Use to go to the one that burnt down years ago so we thought we would check this one out. There is a long narrow passage to drive your car down to find parking, and it was packed - which it was a Sunday so not surprising. It costs $2 a person to get in and the line was fast. When entering, there was an odor from the horses they had there for kids to ride. There were many vendors but not impressive product they were trying to sell. There were outhouses and vendors available as well. What gives this a one star for me was passing those cages that were packed full of little puppies and dogs to sell. This upset me to the point I had to leave. I know that lots of people wouldnt consider this mistreatment and perfectly normal but seeing them in conditions they were in brought tears to my eyes, it was horrible - animal abuse and it should not be allowed in Austin or anywhere. If you want a glimpse into what a market in the Third World is like, come here on a Saturday or Sunday. It's located in far Southeast Austin, near the airport. The driveways and parking lots are not paved with asphalt and are very uneven. I recommend driving a higher car, like a pickup truck so you don't accidentally scrape your undercarriage on the driveway. The folks seem nice and welcoming. I was appalled by the small cages the animals (mostly birds) are kept in. There are several vendors of animals located in the Northeast corner of the outdoor market. Most of them keep way too many birds in one cage. Sometimes, lots of hens are literally piled on top of each other in those cages. It doesn't even appear the birds have access to food and water even on hot days. Outside of the market, on your way out to 183, there is a more "black market" area where animals like donkeys and other birds are sold, also often kept in similar horrific conditions. Go to the 290 Austin Country Flea Market instead. read more

Came here for the first time with my bf's family and was surprised at how many vendors there were, options for food and drinks, and even rides for kids to get on for cheap!! It is a great place to eat, drink, and people watch! Parking - getting through the parking lot of potholes was the roughest part of the trip to this flea market. Make sure you have decent and good tires because your shocks will be tested as you follow car after car in to find a parking spot. All gravel and dirt road here so you have been warned. Admission - admission on Saturdays is free! Sundays it is $2-$3 a person depending on whether or not you have kiddos with you. Bring cash as the front cashiers do not have machines for your credit cards. Vendors - there are a ton of vendors that come set up shop here. Browse around and be sure to remember to bring cash if you do want to purchase anything! You will find soccer (futbol) jerseys all the way to chickens and cage-free eggs to purchase here. There are some vendors where it people will put out their garage sale items here so don't be swayed to not check them out as well. They have bargains and even some cool interesting vintage finds if you look hard enough. Children's rides - about $1-$2 a ride. Again cash only for these. They are safe and all rides can include an adult (with a paid admission) to ride along with the kids. Food - oh dear! There are so many food trucks with all sorts of tasty foods and drinks here. Again, cash only! In some of the food trucks, there are tables and chairs for you to sit at. Be aware that if you sit there someone from the nearby food truck will come wipe down your table, ask what you want to drink, and expect you to order from their menu. Choose wisely and be sure to plant your butt where you want to continue to people watch and/or listen to the live Tejano band playing at the stage. Beer was the only alcoholic drink I found here and they are $3.50-$4 each for Modelo, Corona, or Tecate. read more

It's been a few months since we been down to this fLea market. Had so many more new things. It was great, until I tried to buy some menudo, i asked them if they cooked it with onions, spouse can't eat onions, very allergic, and they do! Why???? I told him never mind, he said we can take the onions out... um no. U have cooked with the onions, just because u take them out doesn't mean they are gone and the effect is still the same.... ALLERGIC. .. how come no one understands this. read more

Best authentic Mexican eats by far!! Everything you could want, roasted corn dressed, menudo (best in Texas) , doritos prepadados. I can go on and on. This is becoming a usual Sunday spot for my mother and I. She loves coming here, she orders a menudo everytime wtih the onion and cilantro on the side with a Mexican Coke. The food is priced well. They have lots of food vendors as well as random stuff for sale at some vendors. You can leave with a menudo, live chicken, and a guitar if you'd choose to. Get here before 10 am to avoid the crowds. 1 star off for the smell, its pretty foul sometimes lol. read more

I was about to go to this flea market/farmer's market and I was out with my 10 pounds dog. I get they charge $2 per person for entrance but why $10 for a dog? Non-sense! I think it's either rip-off or pretending that they are dog friendly but truly they are not! Don't charge for dogs or be honest and tell people you don't allow dogs at your premises. read more
