John was extremely knowledgeable about the test, content, study strategies, tips/tricks etc. He was able to tailor the class to suit the needs of different students, and was always available for after class questions. In my first practice test I got a 161V and 156Q, so was fairly nervous about boosting my quant score to my target of 165. John not only helped me on my quant weak spots, but also was a positive voice throughout my studies and kept me optimistic. Studying for a big test can be pretty isolating - especially if you have no friends studying for something at the same time (..i.e. this was my experience) so it was incredibly helpful to have a class & instructor that kept me mentally motivated. The Manhattan materials (books, practice tests, online resources, 5lb book (!)) are also top notch and better than those I've seen from other prep courses. I ended up getting a 164V/166Q/5.5 & I'm not convinced I could have done it without this class. I maybe could have eventually, but you don't want to spend forever studying for a test when you (presumably) have apps to focus on. Take Manhattan with John! It's 110% worth it - will make your studying smarter, faster, and less stressful.

BTC provides parents the benchmarks, diagnostic tools, and customized programs to strengthen children's learning capability. We greatly appreciate Mrs. Yount's insightful knowledge and advice about the current landscape of high school applications. BTC's programs addressed my child's academic weaknesses and brought out his strengths. After an initial assessment, BTC offered us two types of help. The first part was weekly one-on-one tutoring, which focused on academic work, training my child to form good habits of learning as well as test-taking. The second part of the BTC program was a highly individualized consultation. Mrs. Yount had a comprehensive review with my child about many aspects of high school applications and patiently worked with him to improve his presentations. She provided advice to us, helping to narrow down the best-fit high schools. She also kindly accommodated our schedule changes. BTC has gone beyond helping my child to improve test-taking skills. The instructors were phenomenal - especially David, who went above and beyond to provide solid lectures, good examples, and additional supplementary materials. In addition to great teachers, Veritas' online classes were really helpful - either for reviewing material you're fuzzy on or making up for a missed class. Plus, they give you access to so many practice GMAT tests (some of their own, plus others they license), so you'll really feel prepared by the time test day comes. The class format of Veritas really sets it apart from other programs. For me, having the hands-on classroom time plus TONS of homework/practice problems was the necessary nudge I needed to make sure I was devoting adequate time to studying. The books are well thought out and give you a lot of detail. I'd recommend supplementing it with the Official GMAT guide (in your final weeks of studying) to really help give you a sense of the official GMAT Qs.

Shouldn't the key issue be the opinions of poor people who are actually eating the food, reviewing the quality of the food, the freshness, the amounts, the dignity with which they're treated (or not?) The place is doing so well that they are expanding, but I'm sure they would appreciate donations. The first time I cam here I was really impressed by the professionalism. You have to waah your hand pretty thoroughly, wear gloves, an apron, and a hairnet. Hairnets are super weird balls of hair that magically unravel to cover your hair. If you want to be a cool kid, you can wear a hat so your hair doesn't fall in the food. Duties range all over the place, but don't expect to cook anything. You will be packaging a lot, moving things around, and also maybe cut up some vegetables or meat. If you pick the morning session, you will usually be rewarded with a meal at lunch that's pretty good.
