Not sure they'd let you use theirs anyway. There is no parking lot. The YMCA lot doesn't allow for park parking. You have to park on the street. There is usually close parking available. There is no shade. It gets really hot during the summer. All in all, I like the park for its age range. I wish there was a bathroom. We've had to leave early a bunch of times because we need a bathroom.

The hike has some decent incline on the way back to your car, so bring your water! The trail itself is pretty shaded so it can be chilly. Dog friendly! Limited parking so be ready for a little wait. Sadly we didn't hit it on a day the lighthouse was open but it was interesting to walk around the grounds. The bathroom was large and clean. You use your phone to pay for parking but it's not expensive. Food options are just steps away, and train enthusiasts will appreciate the locomotives that rumble by periodically. There are several community fire pits available for family gatherings, as well as benches that encourage one to sit and contemplate life, or watch the sunset turn the sky shades of pink and coral.

I rented the picnic shelter for the day for a birthday party and it was only $40. That is much cheaper than other parks in the area. The picnic tables are a little worn but it's a nice size area. And the picnic shelter is right next to the bathroom and play area. It's in a really convenient spot. I was a little worried about traffic sounds. You can hear if a car is noisy but you don't really hear just the normal traffic. It is a nice, pleasant area.

We would've never heard of this awesome beach if it weren't for friends who live in Everett…read more Packed up the fam and headed to a local beach! It reminded me of Richmond Beach, but much more room to spread out and having a lot more sand! The kids enjoyed searching for crabs, and seeing the trains roll by. I loved the beautiful clam/mussel shells, and having a clear view of the kids in all directions. There were many families at the beach, but it didn't feel like it with the space between us. Word of advice...pack light, you'll need to hike up and down several stairs. Not wheelchair accessible, and not a bathroom in sight. You'll need to find a bush, or hike up the stairs to the playground area. We will leave the wagon at home next time, and may bring a tent to use as a potty.

These are some nice trails to roll your mountain bike on. I hopped onto the singletrack trail and…read moredang: It was a doozie within seconds. The skinny trail almost immediately points upward. In fact, there were quite a few times, where I just had to pull my feet out of the pedals & walk a little. Overall, I probably had to walk about 10 times going uphill. But---once you turn around. The roller coaster is on! I'm a bit of a fraidy cat, but I barreled down the trail pretty fast. I'm not a veteran of singletrack, so I had to really look out for roots, big rocks, holes, etc.---cuz I didn't want to eat it. So it took about 20min up this trail and about 5min down. It was a workout and hella fun downhill. There are a few ladder bridges and other types of bridges on the single track trail. If you want some serious dirt, give these trails a try. I also took the road/bigger trail which is at the very bottom of the gulch/valley. This is more of a road, and it's fairly straight and it goes up from the trailhead (paralleling the train tracks). So, there is talk of selling off this land for development. That would be a total shame Check out the website for this area and get the lowdown on this trail system's future. Hopefully Mukilteo will by this area and keep it as a cool place to hike and ride.
