    A moment of Zen :)

Nice hike lots of stairs and nice incline to get your heart going. My dogs enjoyed the creek accesses, and playing in the waves when we arrived at the beach. There is a outhouse at the top parking lot, and one once you get to the lower beach area. But they are not stocked with TP and seem to be needing more frequently tended to than they are currently being maintained. Very yucky in them. Bring sanitizer.

A beautiful, fairly easy hike with some small inclines but a whole lot of trees, flowers, creek sneak peeks, and outlet to the beach. Perfect path that is easy to follow and keeps you engaged with the scenery and exercise. Plenty of benches and tables at the beginning, end, and during the trail of you want to sit down or picnic. There's even a pull-up bar on the trail!

Beautiful if a bit muddy walk down to the beautiful beach. Loved the birds and the views.

This beach park is a great place to visit. There is a 1 1/4 mile trail that gets you to and from the park. The trail has quite a few hills, so be prepared for a workout. Once you arrive at the beach, the scenery is incredible. You can see the Olympic Mountains from the beach on a clear day.

I used to avoid meadowdale Beach Park because of the fishy/unpleasant smells, but they recently renovated it and I have been twice the past month already! It is a light trail, around 1.5 hours going to the final point (a beach) and back. Good for families or anyone, as there are little to no steep hills other than a short flight of stairs. One thing to note is that there are often puddles and mud, so dress accordingly!

Here's the beach you walk down to and when the tide is out you can walk a very long way!

This is a great local trail for us that's always great. If you're thinking it's only 1.3 miles down and 1.3 miles back, and that's not enough, guess what? There's a side trail that you can go on adding a significant amount of walking. We found it on the all trails app. The trail is pretty much straight down to the beach and you could a good mile along the beach or more if the tide is out.

June 2021 - the trail to the beach is closed due to construction.

THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: 1) As of June 2021, you cannot make it down to the beach due to construction. You can go about a mile down the trail before a chain link fence prevents you from going further (see my photos for more info) 2) For those of you with bad knees or ankles, use caution. While the trail is in excellent condition, approx the first 1/2 mi. Is a fairly steep decline and can be a bit rough on your knees and ankles Now, that said, this is a wonderful little hike through the woods. The trail is well constructed with a handful of stairs in places with well maintained gravel and dirt trails. There also benches along the way for resting and some pull up bars, if that's your thing. You'll find yourself in a peaceful pocket of woods next to Edmonds with a little creek to follow as you make your way down the trail. While it was a little busy, it was nowhere near crowded and there were lots of friendly dogs to meet and greet along the way. It makes for a perfect little escape from all the hustle and bustle of the nearby city. I'll definitely be back again once they open the rest of the trail down to the beach.

Very nice park with a easy trial for a beach that is never crowded. The parking lot is always usually full. I saw a lot of people park further / closer to residential homes. * The good thing is the parking lot is small so there's not much people that you will see out in the trail and in the beach.

Great spot for a short hike. 1mi+ Down hill to the beach and 1mi+ back up to the parking lot. Great beach to check out and while we were there a train came by too. Really fun.

What an awesome park just a couple miles away from our house! I headed here twice within weeks of each other cuz I liked it so much! Parking: there is a free parking lot. It was full the other day when we pulled in closer to noon on a Sunday. If you wait a few min though, ppl come and go all the time. It is about 2 miles R/T to the beach and back. There is a 1/2 mile sign you pass. The trail is downhill going to the beach then uphill on the way back with some stairs in between. There's a small staff housing once you get closer to the beach and it has a cute free mini library. There is a little tunnel that leads to the beach that goes under the train tracks. The tide was so high the first time I went we couldn't get to the beach without getting soaked. The 2nd time we got to the sand but it started hailing on us. I need to head back here on a sunny day!

I discovered this place through my friend and wouldn't have known about it due to it being hidden away amongst a housing community. The parking is pretty tight, and I got really lucky to grab a spot before it suddenly got really busy. The trail itself is nice, about a 1.5 mile hike, mostly downhill to the beach area (more of rocky beach than a sand beach!). Everyone was being COVID friendly with masks on the trail. The beach is nice to walk around and there's lovely views of the Olympic mountains (though I had a really nice morning for it!). There were trains passing by too which was really fun to watch! The 1.5 mile hike back up isn't going to excite people but it's not the worst. When I arrived back to the trail head there was a long line of cars waiting for people to leave. The parking is free, the trail was fairly well maintained and of course the beach access is a nice treat! Will be back!

Meadowdale Beach Park is a hidden neighborhood park that gives you access to the beach. It's about one mile downhill, rounding your way through a well-maintained trail covered with mossy forest greens, before suddenly finding a forest ranger's private home and a clearing with a park. Walk under the tunnel at the far end of the park, and the beautiful beach reveals itself to you. It's stunning. Some parts are sandy and some are rocky. In the right tidal conditions, I suspect wonderful wildlife can be found as bits and pieces can be seen. At the current time, small buds from flowers are emerging. This trail will be even more darling soon. Going back uphill for the 1 mile has its sweaty moments. The elevation is about 40 stories. Though there is a parking lot, it's modest sized. There is street parking in the adjacent areas.

Had to take a selfie in front of the beautiful ocean. Perfect day.

Is there off-leash swimming for dogs?

Unlikely. I didn't see signs for it. I also didn't see any dog owners letting their dogs roam free. It's not an advertised feature on their website either. https://snohomishcountywa.gov/Facilities/Facility/Details/Meadowdale-Beach-Park-56

I don't know why, but I have always been scared crossing the bridge over the railroad tracks on the way from the parking lot to the beach. I have no fear of heights, and in fact I feel much more peaceful in the air or on the water than I do on the earth. The bridge is sturdy and safe, with tall, secure fencing on both sides. Little kids were crossing it today with no fear at all. One little kid was getting pulled across it in a large wagon. That was pretty cute to see. It is a bit of a trek from the parking lot to the beach area, a trek that includes this perfectly safe bridge which I somehow mysteriously feel scared while walking on. I recently injured my right heel playing tennis, so I was limping and hobbling and walking quite slowly, but this walk was still quite doable for me today. There were a lot of people at this beach park today, but it really didn't feel crowded, and everyone we talked to was friendly. The only slight bummer was that one of the reasons that we went out there today was to talk with a Naturalist from the Seattle Aquarium. We talked with 3 different Naturalists. They were all friendly enough, but all 3 of them seemed noticeably unenthusiastic about talking about the sea life at this beach park. Oh well, we moved on pretty quickly from that, and we really enjoyed this beach park anyway. There were a few people flying kites, and the mountains looked clear and bright behind the sunlit water. I waded in the water (one of my favorite things to do in life), and the cold waves breaking over my legs and feet felt wonderful on a hot day like today. 5 stars for sure. This place is so beautiful.

We rented our gear from the dive shop right in front with two tanks and got into the water at 5pm. We were lucky that day as the waves were calm and visibilitiy was 40-50 ft. The good thing was the walk at the sand was short but the surface swim to the first buoy before we sank down was a 10 min swim and easy to cramp up in cold waters. We saw enormous groupers, sunken ships, crabs, large sea slugs and my boyfriend even claimed he saw a seal pop his head up to the surface when we were swimming back to shore. The lake has been closed to swimming and wading for a while due to pollution issues, so keep that in mind when visiting. Trails from Shoreview Park, from Boeing Creek Park, and Innis Arden Way are the easiest way to access Hidden Lake. If you are a bird air access might be easiest and if you are a salmon water access from Boeing Creek may be the easiest. You can not access the water as train tracks and a fence keep you inside the park. It's a small place with little parking, but an actual bathroom on site, a playground, black berry picking and gorgeous views. It seems to be a nightly walking place for many residents in the neighborhood and a hang out spot for local teenagers. In the actual lot there are only 5 spots (1 handicap), but it appears people are able to park up on the hill above the park and walk in. The play ground looks like a nice reason to visit, but it currently has some yellow tape on it for covid. Dining seems to continue to bring in visitors as there are a few picnic tables and we witnessed multiple people stop by with take out. It's very nice to be able to watch the ferries go by, including some big ships and if you are lucky a train or two. I think this would be an enjoyable place for anyone who likes to gaze out over the water. I plan to go back some day when cruise ships return and see if I can catch one going by, in the mean time though its a great place to watch a sunset.
