Being secluded and in the middle of a quiet neighborhood gives a perfect opportunity for any family to have a peaceful getaway place. It is open from dawn to dusk. The main play structures are designed mainly for 5-12. There's a smaller structure available for younger kids as well. But most of the kids will be attracted by the tandem swing and the uniquely designed merry-go-round. It encourages group play with the steering wheel in the middle to encourage a combined effort for the enjoyment. Tennis court and paved walking trails - that's all for parents. There's no restroom. Sheltered picnic area is also advantage during poor weather conditions. Very limited parking - hardly 3-4 available. I am sure kids will have a great time. Highly recommended.

The whole trail smells like sewage because the entire trail is actually a paved sewer line with sewage warning flags in the bushes with run off in the ditches and what looks and smells like treated sewage ponds, you can literally see toilet paper in the ditches on the path along with brown slurry. I've never seen such a gross area to walk in Washington it's a construct of ritzy filth with nice trees and no animals.

It gets sooo dang gorgeous here It's a perfect place to swim. Seattle is freakin cold man even in the peak of summer, but this gem here folks is one of the few places I can bare to get my butt in. This park is a perfect example of why I moved here from California. It is SO close to such a busy place yet, when your out here it feels soo far away. I take my kayak here every once in a while so I have to have a Discovery Park Pass to park in the boat launch area. It feels super VIP over there, easy to get in, not a lot of traffic and sometimes locals around that are willing to help me carry my kayak out to the water. The water is so calm I launch an anchor and relax out there, the sounds of the road are nonexistent and you can just feel like your in the middle of nowhere. I feel safe swimming knowing there aren't any scary sharks out there that'll nibble my toes, just farmed fish, fisherman have a blast catching. I like to kayak around the entire perimeter checking out all the beautiful lake houses... there are amazing weeping willows that fall into the water... fields of water lilies...and more surprised each time! My dream here is to get the community to help clean this place up a little, I pick up trash sometimes when I'm out there, but a deeper clean can be made behind some of the fishing docks... other than that.. People clearly have been squatting i the more dense shrubs, leading to nests of garbage. For what i'm sure were practical reasons, the garbage cans have been reduced, so there are bags of dog crap everywhere. The "toys" on the west end of the park are partially dismantled and useless. The wooden walkway on the wetlands is what makes this park unique. In a couple spots, the boardwalk does sway a bit and has small slopes that end in little puddles of water on the path (which I thought was awesome but I can see some people not liking this), but for the most part it's dry, flat, and stable for pedestrians on foot. It's not a huge park, but I think we spent at least 45 minutes exploring it. When we got to the end of the boardwalk, it turned into a gravel road that seemed to lead up to a small farm or something and a road... so we had to turn around to get back to where we started. It is not a loop. That's my only complaint. It's a simple walk with maybe not the most spectacular, but still pleasant views. The tall grass in the fields remind me of the Midwest (where I'm originally from), so it captures my heart.

Unfortunately, safety is now a concern being that there have been encampments nestled into the corners of the boardwalk we've stumbled into; we quietly but quickly walked back towards the entrance. Overall, North Creek Park is a nice and very clean park for families to enjoy.

On my…read morewalk in to Silver Laker after parking my car, I spotted a robin foraging in the grass and a hummingbird zipping around at the edge of some trees. A work crew was at the edge of the parking lot. Small wildflowers were in bloom towards the water and ducks were floating and preening themselves near the shore. After a few minutes, a subset of the ducks broke off and paddled towards an area of the water covered with lilypads. It was possible to venture out over the water a little ways on a shorter dock and a taller pier. A foot path past the dock and pier continued on along Silver Lake. The sands of Thornton A. Sullivan Park across the lake were visible from the water's edge. One family of ducks was friendly, with an adult and two young ones coming closer when I waved and said hello. They stayed close to the water, but did waddle around a bit. The adult kept its eye on me, it liked it when I pulled my camera out and it felt like it might have been posing for the pictures I took.

There's a large lawn and a picnic area that's great for the kiddos too! The park leads to the lake, a dock and a trail where you can continue to walk around the lake. It's not too far of a walk, 30 minutes if you're walking slowly like we were. Along the lake we saw people fishing, people walking around the lake and others playing with their dogs in the water (there are signs that say no dogs on beaches and water but I've always seen dogs playing here....) . To walk around you have to walk through some residential areas where you are no longer on a trail around the lake but it's still fun.

Our adventure finding new parks in the area to frequent continued this past Sunday despite cold and…read morerainy conditions. My children and I were not to be deterred! We drove over to Mill Creek and found Pine Valley Park, which was stunning immediately from the road. There was no parking lot but there was plenty of street parking, so we pulled right up and began our adventure. Right up front is a beautiful playground area, a very sturdy and well-constructed pavilion, and plenty of seating for anybody wishing to watch their children from a comfortable spot. Not too far away was a basketball court and a beautiful field in which to run and play. There was a beautifully paved trail that went all around the outside of the park. And despite the time of year-early March-it was clear that this part was well-manicured and taken care of on a regular basis. Mill Creek parks seem to have so much character to them, and this one was no different. It was exceptionally clean and exceptionally well-kept, with plenty of things for everyone in the family to do. Probably our favorite piece though was the beautiful collection of trees-particularly in the park's center. In fact, we walked over to the circle of trees in the very center of the park and ended up finding a Mill Creek rock! Those who live in the area and frequent Facebook know that these rocks are part of a very humorous and rewarding game that people play with each other in the community. When you find one of these rocks, you take your photo with it and then re-hide it for the next person to find. It's a blast! The bottom line about this park is, even though it's not huge in terms of size, it's huge in terms of spirit. It's beautiful, there's plenty to do, and the people in the area are incredibly friendly as well. Recommended.
