Pros: the 97 and 97A go to Heartlands Hospital and use the bus lane
Cons: Everything else
It's tolerable at around 11am on a weekday, but most of the rest of the time it's too crowded and too infrequent. One or two drivers are civil but most are dour. The passengers are mostly dreadful and I particularly resent the smoking and drinking on the upper level. Things like playing your music too loud and feet on seats seem to be normal behaviour.
Between the 97 and 97A, they're "up to" every 4 minutes, which translates to 3 coming at once, every few minutes, or a 20 minute wait while the arrivals board gradually increases the ETA, until the bus disappears completely and just doesn't arrive.
I'd estimate that 90% of trips make me hate all people. It might improve slightly if they sorted the frequency at peak times. It mostly just makes me want to spend all my money on a car. read more
