Loss of two stars…read more So I went into the facility (as they demanded) back in April to cancel the account. Sure enough, the very polite person on duty turned to the computer, punched a few keys (no pun intended) and then told me I was good to go. What? Why couldn't I do this over the phone? It makes no sense. All I can imagine was the upsell. They tried to upsell me into buying individual sessions. No thanks. Again, great people but poor business practices. Took one star off of my 3 star rating. Here I am now (June) doing a few bills online. What's this I see? 9Round charged me for June? Huh? I see charges every month which stopped in May but then picked back up in June. Odd. Minus another star. I won't be going into the facility to cancel again.

The space is always clean and well organized. Russel has been the only trainer I've worked with so far and he's great. He is super friendly, but also brings a level of joking that makes you feel like you've been coming there for months rather than days. While he is nice, he's also there to make you work. He pushes and motivates you to work harder. Maybe more importantly, his playlists are always on point. He has been very helpful whenever I ask what a move is or how to do it, I have never felt nervous about asking for help like I have in other places. I've been stuck in a funk where I've missed all the mid-day classes at most gyms and would have to go home, disrupt our evening routine to drive somewhere else, then get back to a delayed bedtime for my kid. 9 Round is the best because there are no class times. I pop in right when they open in the afternoon and get home right when the rest of my family does. I've been bringing all my co-workers here. If you're on the fence, you should definitely just go in for your free first workout.

The person at the counter was super nice and the ease of getting a drop in class was a nice touch. The VIP package comes with a pair of gloves, so if you're new and want to keep coming it's a good investment. The facility is clean and tidy. They have a locker situation for your things and after each class the bags are sanitized and the floors as well. The class is a quality workout and wonderful lesson! I feel like I learned a ton just about the motion of my body. I drove all the way there from Puyallup and it's the real deal. Instructor is a for real a FIGHTER. He's fun and upbeat and really gets you warmed up. I was pretty scared, but this was a whole new experience. It's helpful that the instructor checks on you a bunch and tells you how to fix your motions. I worked muscles I hadn't in so long. The workout was intense but fun and I felt amazing after. I hadn't gone to bed at 7pm in years. Lol. 10 out of 10 recommend.

I was incredibly out of shape, but everyone here made me feel so welcome and comfortable. They really focus on what you can do and don't make you feel bad or intimidate you about what you're not able to do (yet!) The workouts are challenging, but they help you adapt the workout to your fitness level, so if you're just starting out don't let that discourage you. This is probably the only fitness facility I've been to where the staff make you feel like they're genuinely excited that you're there. It's incredibly inclusive and the team members push you/encourage you during the workout in a really supportive way. They offer challenges, which are super fun and highly recommended! I was actually able to lose 20+ lbs during a 6 week challenge by committing to the number of workouts recommended and suggested meal plan. For the social butterflies, it's also a place to meet great friends/workout buddies. I'm an introvert so that wasn't really my thing, but appreciated that everyone here (staff & members) have such a great attitude. Really happy that they were able to weather through the pandemic's previous shut down and restrictions, and are still going strong. The only reason I am no longer a current member is because now I live too far away to make the commute work in my regular schedule. I definitely 10/10 recommend this place, it is worth every penny.

Supposedly people get half of the $799 back but not me. I was told that this amount can be spread through June so I stayed on as a member. But they went ahead and took out $122.50 from my credit card and a month later $56.00. I asked them to cancel my membership because I felt that they are cheating me. They got nasty with me and won't reimburse me. So in 2 months they cheated me of $977.50. BEWARE of this dishonest business dealings. It feels like being scammed for a "free" challenge. Zero star for the dishonesty, 2 stars for the nice staffs.

I know I tend to slack off with treadmills by myself. The best thing about Fitbox is by enjoying new workouts & learning new techniques/ developing your fitness - you just naturally feel better & want more! Don't hold off because you think you don't have any boxing experience cuz you don't need it. Just show up & the rest takes care of itself. 1. Trainer - Ricardo is a great listener & leader who truly wants to support your needs. 2. Workout stations - I love trying each workout guided by Ricardo. Every day is something a bit different that makes it fun & interesting. It is not just typical 10 dumbbells rep etc but just adding that extra spice & challenge. 3. Studio - I like the studio set up. You won't get distracted cuz you're purely just working out on yourself. Everyone has a great positive attitude & it helps you. It's not like a typical franchise gym where it looks big/ fancy but I can get distracted then slack off. You'll be surprised by how much you will enjoy Fitbox.

I've been with I love kickboxing for about 6 months before starting the #6WeekChallange. I…read moreoriginally joined the club to get ready for my military PT test. I hate running, so I had to get my cardio up. (I ended up doing really well, btw.) I'm pretty active (besides running, lol), I have been doing a lot of strength/weight training and I eat fairly healthy. I've was gaining weight (muscle mass) but not losing any body fat. So I decided to start the #6WeekChallenge to kick my butt in gear. It was definitely a challenge. Adjusting to the meal plan the first week was difficult; I was hungry about 99% of the week, but I lost 3lbs and 2% BF that week. The second week, I had no changes in my results, and I was extremely frustrated. (There were a few weeks where I didn't have any changes. ) After talking with the instructors, I adjusted my meal plan a bit to help out. By the 3rd-4th week, I still wasn't seeing the results I wanted, so I talked to some of my fitness friends for additional tips and I had to adjust my meals again. And because I wasn't eating very few carbs, I was unable to sustain my strength workout with weights, I just ended up doing a lot of body weight workouts and adding in more cardio (besides the 3-4 kickboxing classes per week). But I ended up losing 14 lbs and almost 8% body fat!! I was weak, tired, and hungry most of the 6 weeks and there were many moments I wanted to quit and just go eat a Cinnabon, but I'm glad I kept to it and am extremely proud of my results. Although, I know some of the weight I lost was muscle mass. Rather than recommending whether or not to join the club or the 6 week challenge, I'll state my pros and cons. Pros: 1. The instructors are AMAZING. They are very helpful and patient. And the push you when you THINK you can't or just don't want to do the work. 2. The other members/challengers are awesome. They are very encouraging, share tips, and are willing to be an accountability partner whenever asked. 3. Class times are accommodating, for the most part. There are classes later in the evening on most days, for those of us who work during the day. Cons: 1. The club and the challenge are really expansive, even with a military and member discount. 2. The club itself (Tacoma anyways) smells like stinky feet. (Until you get used to it.) 3. The punching bags are well used, it would be nice if they were updated. 4. Challenge specific; if you are fairly fit and don't really have the weight/body fat to lose, it's really difficult to be successful without doing additional things aside of the challenge itself.

Pros: friendly snd encouraging staff, modify things for new people, excellent full body work out Cons: high pressure sales pitch, and it's too expensive and not a flexible membership. $125/month and sign up for a year. If they had a punch card or a month to month - it would be much more doable. But if you aren't working out 3x a week every month. It's just too expensive for what you're getting. If you weren't committing to a year up front - it would be better. If they had a 10 punch card option- that would be helpful- but I also don't want to pay for 100 punches at once. They need more flexible membership types.

2 stars is from my point of view, but others may like this more than me…read more The workouts are mediocre and there is very minimal instruction. The class is split in a typical way: 1-2min warm up, 20min conditioning, 20min kickboxing, 1-2min cool down Primary reasons for 2 stars: -Conditioning is always boring, and this conditioning is so mundane with no energy from the instructor. Typically the the instructor demonstrates 3-5 exercises and the class simply repeats them for the entire 20 minutes. During that time, you're going at your own pace (which some people may like). I would look around the room each class and everyone had issues with their form. Instructor didn't say anything - so I started wondering, how bad am I performing these exercises? I'd never know - there is no instruction and very little encouragement. I like when I am reminded of good form, encouraged to "dig deeper" etc. But 20 minutes just repeating the same small loop of exercises is just so boring. I kept asking myself, what am I paying for? -Kickboxing portion is very short, often uninspired routines. I also didn't have much left after pushing myself to do ~150 jump squats during 20mins of conditioning on a loop. I fell in love with kickboxing at a gym that was run by a retired military vet. He was so energetic and loved created interesting combinations and really brought the sport alive. The instructor here timidly provides you a demonstration and then you repeat (like normal), but I found it all so very dull. -Topping it off, the music is tiresome. I'm an elder millennial and sure I love me some 2000s-2010s poppy club music but the playlists had the most over played songs I'm still sick of in 2024. I usually don't care what the music is in a workout class, but given the lack of inspiration from the instructor or interesting exercises I was desperate to draw inspiration from anywhere. Also, the facility is very "just okay." It's pretty clean (not sure how often floor mats are cleaned though...). Parking is very easy. Furthermore, I HATED the marketing interaction from the company itself. They send the worst, cringely e-mails and text messages on a regular basis. I was so happy once I could block them all. (If you block them while taking classes, you can't receive any notices about the classes.) And their "limited promo" on their website is always there (intro 3 classes like ~$30). Classes are just about worth $10/ea but the regular price is +$25/class for their packages (as of Aug 2024). The only good thing I can say about the place is that the other people attending the class are very nice and sweet people. The instructor is a nice, friendly person but simply not the type of class leader I'd like to have.

Each class may vary depending on the workout and instructor/trainer. It also feels more like you are working with a personal trainer. The Woodinville Kickboxing community is amazing too because everyone is supportive and inspirational. You aren't just a member but part of a family. This is an intense workout, no matter what fitness level you are at. Each time you walk into class you are able to do more weights and reps; and improve on your jabs, upper cuts, hooks, front kicks, side kicks, back kicks and round houses.
