A lot of my wardrobe is from Loft or Ann Taylor. I browsed the entire store and picked out a big pile of things to try on. I asked to start a fitting room and instead of helping out they just told me to put my things in a room. So I put many items in there and kept shopping. When I went back to try everything on everything was gone, the fitting room was empty. It turns out the manager put everything away. She said the store was closing in five minutes so I couldn't try them on anyways. No apology, no attempt to find the things she took. I checked my watch and the store didn't actually close for another ten minutes. Plenty of time to try at least a few items on. There were two other people trying things on as well. The manager kept bugging them, are you finished the store is closing, in a blunt rude way. She needs lessons in customer service and shouldn't be managing this store.

I made myself a note to call the next day. When I opened my email the next morning, I had a reply from the owner! They didn't have any store hours until 2 days later on Thursday but offered to come in that evening for us by appointment. Both owners were there (there is a dance studio upstairs). They had my daughter's sizes pulled out so we could just sit and try on right away. They were so helpful in guiding us on the right fit and making suggestions. And then I saw this awesome gray leather jacket. It was down from $80 to $50! For a good leather jacket, I was totally willing to pay that. I tried it on and fell in love. While I was staring at myself in the mirror, my bestie found a cute, regular priced dress. It was $80, which made her hesitant about trying it on, but she decided to give it a shot. It fit her perfectly. I have a dress that has a similar cut, but it makes me look hippy. This was definitely made better and fit her like a glove. She was really on the fence about it and was thinking about what to do when I made my way up to the counter to buy my jacket. The wonderful employee told us that we could combine our purchase and get the $20 off, but pay separately, and we could split the $20 however we wanted. I was already going to get a discount on my jacket and I knew my friend really liked the dress and because it fit her so freaking well, I decided she could have the entire $20 discount. The woman thought that was like the nicest thing ever, so she gave me an additional discount on my jacket for being so damn nice. Yay! Being nice pays! My friend and I left very happy with our purchases. I was teetering on this review being 4 or 5 stars mainly because of the price, but I'm going with 5 starts because of one main reason: customer service. Not because of the awesome discount, but because of the attention we received while there. While we were trying on our clothes, the employees were giving us their opinions and why something worked or didn't. Another woman was there trying something on and they were honest with her about the item she was trying on and offered suggestions to what may work better. I love that kind of customer service. They're not trying to make a sale; they're working with you to make you look your best. I wish every store could do that. I wish I had more money, but I know I'll definitely be back to JACTS. While you maybe can save a little by ordering and purchasing some of these products online, the prices certainly are not outrageous. I, for one, appreciate having a store to shop in. There is no substitute for being able to see and touch items. A storefront comes with cost. I'm willing to pay a little extra for the shopping experience. I've also seen them sampling products quite often as well which is always great. Keep up the good work!

However, the first time, several months ago i checked my receipt before leaving and was overcharged by $15. I also noticed that there was nobody in the whole store to help me. No one on the floor. Somebody was at the register and no one was around to let me in a dressing room which they keep locked. The staff behind the counter did not seem very knowledgeable with their products or questions I had. So then I returned today for a second time only to find the same problems. I had to walk up to the cashier and ask if someone can let me in the dressing room. She had to leave the register to let me in. Again, where are the people on the floor? Once I did find someone on the floor ... I asked about sizing, I explained to the sales woman that the smalls that I tried on were huge. She seemed to stare me up and down and said "well you know the style now is for things to be oversized". Excuse me? First of all I'm fully aware of that but I'm 5 foot tall and 115 pounds and there's a difference between oversized and falling off me. I had to repeat this to her 2 to 3 times and then I started to think why am I explaining myself to her? Why can't she just give me an answer or find my size? Then she gave me the wrong information. I was told an item could be ordered in an extra small then when I got to the counter, at checkout, the cashier said it could not be ordered but she had no idea why. I asked her well, can I order it? She said "I don't know". And then she told me again that she doesn't know the reason why she can't order it. She never offered to call a manager or to escalate the issue to find out. I went on the website as I was standing at the register to try to find the item and she was of absolutely no assistance to even help me find the item on the website. When I got my receipt, I didn't understand some charged items and I never got a separate receipt for the one item that she ordered to have shipped to me. Then she told me I should get an email. I never got the email. Then she told me to snapshot a screen of the order number. And then what? She had no information on how the shipping even worked. She had no clue. The worst part about it just like the first time in that store the employees didn't seem to care. My first and second time was not with the same staff member, but my experience was the same. So I asked for the manager. The manager was helpful but why should I have to ask for a manager? The manager couldn't figure out either why I did not get a receipt or a confirmation of my item that was ordered so she said she would call me tomorrow. She said she wanted to look into what the problem was. I found it all quite strange. It seems like the store staff is unmotivated don't care and are not properly trained. They're also not very friendly ( aside from the manager). So I really do like the items in the store, but in my experience, the customer service is severely lacking. It's too bad because it's a nice store, however seems poorly managed. Oh, and not to mention the part where an employee knocked on my dressing room door, wondering when I'm going to come out as another person had to use the dressing room. I understand that there's only two dressing rooms, but I brought a ton of stuff in with me because of the great trouble it takes to go back-and-forth and finding someone to open it.
