I've tried to change my opinion about this store but can't. Yesterday I went in 7:53? Definitely before 8pm. The hours posted said closes at 8pm. I KNOW it was before 8pm. I literally told my husband I'm going to run in and get socks, I knew exactly what I wanted. The two ladies immediately said they were closed, Not we are closing soon, but we are closed. I said it's not 8pm yet. they responded with "those were covid hours posted. " ... Covid has been over since 2022, at least no masks required. Such BS, they wanted to close. . I started this review by saying I want to change my opinion, because they have many brands I buy. But each time I go I get no service and am ignored, and now chased out of the store during open hours. What a shame. Update: I checked there hours on line and it says close at 7pm, but if I'm eating dinner across the street, see people leaving the store, see the window sign hours of 8pm, and it's 7:53, of course I think they are open. Lost a customer today. Went in just before 2 with a simple issue that could've been easily resolved or at the bare minimum, some level of troubleshooting. Was met by two sales people, possibly one in management as she was called over to assist, who lack the most basic customer service skills. Zero effort made. Will never shop here again. Lots of cute and trendy clothes, but the best are the shoes - I can always find what I'm looking for (especially cute and comfy styles). If they don't have the size you're looking for, they can order it from another store. Merchandise turns over quickly so there's always something new. read more

I have been shopping at Jayne for a while. My son skates at Center Ice so a bunch of us Hockey Moms would go there on Wed nights. The ladies are always so nice and a great help w/out being too pushy! I love the shoe selection especially the Sorels snd Antelope ( I bought a pair of those in March and they are so comfy I want to sleep in them). I would love to see more variety from Antelope. Honorable mention goes out to Denise- she is always so pleasant and will give u her honest opinion w/out judgmental ( nobody likes a " Judy Judgmental")! There is also a blonde woman that works on Wed nights but her name is escaping me right now. Thanks for keeping it fresh and real Jayne! Returned yoga pants with receipt and tags still on at 30 days. Was told the return policy is 10 days and could only be given store credit. The return policy is not posted. Honestly, who has a 10 day return policy. One more trip to spend our "store credit" and that's it. Too many other other places with comparable merchandise, better customer service and return policy. The 10 day policy is a neat trick when you think of all the people who probably forget they have a credit there. read more

Dear Jayne, I want to love your store. You carry the best selection of fashion-forward yet comfortable footwear in the western suburbs. It's expertly displayed. The clothing is unique and youthful. However, in my last two visits, the sales people have looked up when I walked in without so much as a smile or hello. I get the feeling that I'm bothering you by walking in! I even get greeted at TJ Maxx... Your instagram account is lovely--full of young and older women sporting your apparel and looking HAPPY! Yet that's not the vibe I get when I come in. I guess I should consider myself kind of lucky that I don't live in Glen Ellyn, because if I did, I would probably spend a whole lot of time and money at Jayne. The store itself is set up nicely, with all the lovely shoes in the front. You'll spy brands like Kork Ease, Birkenstock, Pikolinos, Hunter, Sorel, Dolce Vita, Dansko, Sofft, Tom's, Sperry, and a whole handful that I wasn't super aware of. While I didn't spend too much time looking at the clothing, I saw items from Free People, Blank Denim, Lucky, and plenty more. They also carry a small selection of jewelry and handbags. Whether you're 18 or 60, you'll probably find something at Jayne that will catch your eye. The shoe selection is the major winner for me, and I'd love to come back and peruse a bit more! read more

I came in today (4/13) to do a return and look around. Erin and Mary were particularly helpful. I have been going to this company for many years since I lived in Forest Park in 2018. I more recently have been going to the Glen Ellyn location. Every Jayne store has amazing clothes that are trendy, but not too trendy where they will go out of fashion in a few months. This is a classy little store with great shoes and nice clothes and sunglasses. The prices are in line with most boutique stores, and the styles are original. The people who work at this store are friendly and easy to work with and talk to. read more

I live in St. Louis and travel to the Chicago area multiple times a year...I always stop by Jayne. They have the best shoe selection in the area and their staff is friendly every visit. They help me find the perfect shoe/boot/sandal even if they have to call their other locations or special order. Love them! read more

Jayne has me worried. My past experience has not been an overcrowded, rack filled store. Every rack in the store is jam packed with clothes. It's very challenging to make your way through everything and quite frankly I don't want to. The whole idea of a small boutique for me is less overstuffed racks. I want a smaller selection of great brands and items. Unfortunately, I came in tonight ready to spend money and walked out overwhelmed and disappointed. I simply don't want to go through rack after rack of clothes as if I'm at TJ Max...and I shouldn't have to. If you want your customers to shop in your store and not online elsewhere, make their experience in your store a better one. Especially with the costly items you carry. read more

I have visited Jayne twice and received terrible service on both trips. On my first visit I wanted to purchase a pair of boots but could not find an employee to help me. As it turns out the two women standing and chit-chatting were both employees and did not bother to come help me when I was browsing the shoe wall and holding the boot I wanted! On my second visit I had to greet the employee and she seemed disinterested in returning the greeting. I love the clothing and shoe lines carried at Jayne but the shopping experience is less than satisfactory. read more

I have lived in Glen Ellyn for about 12 years now, and I can honestly say this is one of the best stores downtown Glen Ellyn has ever had. Yesterday I went to this store and slowly made my way to the back browsing every rack and NOT one person greeted me. This is not the first time I've been invisible in this store. I was interested in trying on couple of pairs of shoes and pants and would have purchased, but because no one bothered to acknowledge my existence yet again, I decided to leave and not spend my money there. Must agree with other reviewers. Have been in the store twice. Not approached for service. Clothing seems very targeted to women in their 20's. Thought that I was there on bad days, store personnel seemed disinterested in helping and disorganized. The store is quite beautiful and perhaps my experience is that they are targeting a younger woman. But, I won't be going to purchase gifts the because of the service. Instead of going straight to my car from the Metra today, I decided to stop in a store after work. I came across Jayne, noticing some attractive shoes inside. To my surprise, they were the funky, stylish, hard-to-find, comfort brands I was resigned to buying online. Not surprising, the shoes cost upwards of $100 and are not on sale. Upon walking into an almost empty store, I was not greeted. The blonde clerk was quite attentive and pleasant to the other patrons as they entered the store and browsed around. She dryly asked me if I knew what I wanted. I don't know if she treated me differently because she was rude or racist or a rude racist. I work nearby this location of Jayne but never stepped into the store until recently... always curious but just didn't. Now I don't know why I didn't until then! Some stuff are probably for much younger generation than myself but I found most of selection of clothing & shoes (they have cool, edgy & cute shoes) were quite a bit matching with my taste. Sale prices are such great deals. Location is lovely - just mins away from Glen Ellyn metra station where many other cute shops and dining spots are located. Friendly but not push-y staff that I appreciate. I will definitely check this store at least few times a month from now! read more

I've been in Jayne several times now, sometimes to just browse and have had a positive experience each time. They have things that would appeal to both younger and more "seasoned" women (like me!) and the amount of customer service I've received seems spot on. I've always been greeted with a smile coming in and am asked to let them know if I need help. I personally don't like salespeople hovering while I poke through the racks, and the Jayne staff seem good at respecting customer boundaries. Pretty much what others said. Totally disinterested staff. I stopped in today at 5 to look at shoes. I was the only person in the store. No one greeted me and I had to seek out an employ to help me. For the first time I shopped in this store in what was called "Ladies Night," in Glen Ellyn. After spending hundreds (yes hundreds,) of dollars in the area this was the last store I popped into with my Mom and sister who were also spending lots of money that evening. We all purchased the same Nordic Beach Sherpa jacket except the last two were purchased by my mom and sister so the woman behind the cash wrap said she was able to ship it out to me. After swipping my credit card (taking my payment with no problem,) and shipping information I was told that this was going to be delivered to me within a week. After two weeks gone by I called the store to track down the item and ask what had happened. What I got was a snotty human being on the phone telling me that if I wanted to come into the store to pick it up it was waiting for me. (Keep in mind I live in the city of Chicago and its a min of 1 hr drive to get to this store,) so it was a special occasion that I was even in the area. I told the woman on the phone that I needed it shipped and the continued to ask me to come into the store and huffed and said "Well it's been here for over a week now," as if that was my problem? Luckily for them I was in Oakbrook the other day and was able to pick up the item in person but this is where it gets REAL GOOD.... as I walked into the store I explained who I was and the item I was picking up. To my luck I was speaking to "a store manager," who kept repeating herself saying "Well we would have shipped to you we do it all the time," to which I responded great, then why didn't you? She rambled about how she didn't even have my information (as if that was my problem again,) to which I said well as a customer you're doing a lot of telling me what I DID wrong as the customer and have never once apologized. I live in Chicago, I spend lots of money at local boutiques in my neighborhood, love supporting small business owners but you're making it very difficult for me to even want to shop her again. If I could give them a zero star rating, I certainly would. This is my second or third time and I will give them credit for consistency. Consistent awful customer service. Each time I walk in, they look at me and look away. No acknowledgement, no greeting... absolutely nothing. Today I had about three or four items on hangers in my hand and still no acknowledgment. My hand was tired and practically going numb. After about 20 minutes and older woman with short dark hair finally came up to me and begrudgingly asked if she could get me a fitting room. What a concept (you think?). Shopping is supposed to be a fun and enjoyable experience and let me tell you that shopping at Glen Ellen's Jayne Boutique is far from that. These are no GEMs and are in great need of a course in etiquette, manners and a basic 101 in customer service. read more

Every time I go to this store I have a great experience and walk out with clothes I'm in love with. The service is amazing. Everyone who works there is extremely helpful without hovering over you while you shop. Having shopped at the LaGrange store, I was thrilled to hear they were opening a location in Glen Ellyn. Cute shoes, jewelry, purses, candles and fun clothes. I'm in my mid-forties and always find something when I shop there. I disagree with reviews saying it is only for twenty-somethings. Many people I have spoken with love it as well and think it's a great addition to the downtown. I've never had a problem with service- in fact I thought the gal that waited on me was very helpful and quick to get different sizes when needed. Stop in- you won't regret it. read more

I'm so surprised by the other reviewers who rated Jayne negatively. I have had the opportunity to shop there on several occasions. Each and every time I received amazing service. Erin and Angie have gone out of their way to find sizes and transfer items from their other locations for me. I think this boutique is an excellent compliment to other shops in Glen Ellyn. I feel they have a nice variety of price points and merchandise that appeals to women of many ages. Thanks for renovating that tired storefront and adding another incredible option in Glen Ellyn! The gal pals and I were out and about yesterday. We had lunch at A Toda Madre (yummy as usual) and hit some stores on the street before parting ways. We have shopped at other JAYNE locations and this is a great new addition to their stores. We all found something (on sale was a plus), service was top notch as we have become used too with their other locations and the selection was excellent as usual - love the shoes here since you can't find that anywhere in the downtown area. The staff was engaged and interested in our group. We have shopped Glen Ellyn before and some of the stores have the "stuffy" type approach but JAYNE looks like it has done it again. I have visited Jayne twice so far, and I am beyond shocked at the terrible service. The blonde lady (owner) is very nice. She usually greets with smiles and says good afternoon. However the brunette lady (other owner) is very displeasing. Has she ever gone shopping herself? How would she feel if the employees working would roll their eyes at her, have a displeasing tone and just overall ignore her? Not to add the fact that she trails me everytime I'm there as if I'm planning to steal from them. Even in the dressing rooms, if she could she would stand in my stall with me. She stood outside my door while changing and she had the worst of attitude both times. I honestly felt very upset and both visits ruined my days. Maybe the brunette should worry more about her approach rather than me stealing. And not to add to the fact I greeted her with smiles and good afternoons, and she took almost a whole five seconds of STARING AT ME before returning the gesture. And overall, the store has decent clothing, but it's way too overpriced. You can get the same/similar things at Forever 21, urban outfitters, and H&M for much much cheaper (yes I've done research). Overall, I'm very displeased with the store. If you're shopping in Glen Ellyn, I'd advise Eddie's which is down the street. At least there they treat you like a decent human being. read more
