I reached out to A-1 Fence and Welding Co. to request the installation of a metal privacy fence. I wanted the fence to replace my 10 year old wooden fence in my back yard, and to have the metal fence extend towards the front edge of the house to completely enclose the back and the sides of my house. The metal privacy fence looks AWESOME! I really appreciate the installation crew for their hard work in this extremely, hot Texas heat. The company managers did visit the site during the process, checking on the crew and ensuring I was satisfied with the work being done. Set up appointment for wooden fence replacement and possible doing a metal fence. A guy by the name of Shaun or Shawn showed up and when we got to the backyard I started talking about doing cedar 4x4s for the gate and guy goes I don't do wooden 4x4s. I ask why and got, I don't do wooden post. He turned and started walking to the gate with no explanation nor did he offer to do the metal fence estimate that I requested. (Not going to beg you to do your job I requested) At that point I was pretty much done with A1 Fencing. As a customer I would have expected some type of explanation of why he didn't want to do what I was requesting and got nothing. Pretty sad business practice in my opinion. I decided to go with A1 because of a recommendation from a friend who was very happy but I guess some of there folks just do what they want versus what the customer wants now days. Guy was actually rude by turning and walking away after he stated what he does. read more

To safely keep cows on a new piece of property, perimeter fencing for 30 acres was needed. The front consisted of three-rail white PVC and a solar-powered automatic wrought-iron gate, with the remaining 4 X 4" ranch wire. After surveyors clearly marked out the property, brush was cleared, trees cut, and old fencing removed. The project was completed as specified and on time. The quality of construction was excellent and clean-up immaculate. The owner of A-1 Fence was personally involved on a daily basis and successfully followed through on all commitments. I only came to see about get a small item welded. It belonged to a part of a sawzall the broken piece was about a half inch long. I dropped it off at the shop and told the woman there if she could have them call me and let me know what the damage would be, meaning the price of the weld. A day later had a call saying it was welded and it would $50 dollars cash. I was in shock I called them immediately, I informed her that the piece that broke was $13 brand new. Somewhere along the lines they never called me to give me the price of the item, I would've paid $10 no problem $20 is pushing it , but still would have paid. I asked her to tell the supervisor to give me a call. maybe we could work something out, I have not received a call. Which I think is bad business for this company, it really would've been nice for them to be fair about the price and not trying to jack me up, I also needed a fence company to put in 100 foot of fence at my home, I don't think I'll be calling these guys.
