I want to come right out and immediately say I would never let anyone else but these qualified professionals do my taxes!! My family and I have been getting our taxes done here for 20+years. I trust them fully. I own a business that they also do all taxes including payroll for. Never had one single issue. They're amazing!!!! I went through an audit for 2016 which was do to government wanting to make people prove children they claimed really resided with them. After we proved they did, then they decided to audit. A1 went to battle for me and handled everything with brilliance and as of last week the audit is resolved with no change because my taxes were prepared perfectly. I have had my taxes done here for several years. I always thought it was strange that you only get like 15 minutes of their time and it always felt like I could do the same job with turbo tax. Come to find out I missed out on deductions over the past few years because they never asked me about certain deductions. It's ridiculous... That's what I am paying you for! Otherwise I would have just done it myself and saved the money. Not to mention how many people that I have heard of/from who have been audited and owed a ton later. Ummm something just isn't "adding up". Also they take a fee from you to get your return and then hold the funds in their account for weeks on end. I rarely leave comments about other companies, but I feel compelled to because of my recent experience with this company. A new client was converting from this company, and complained about delays in accounting and taxes being completed in a timely fashion. 2017 accounting and tax was not completed before 10/2018. He let them complete the work and then requested that they transfer all data to me. It is a standard practice of accountants to make contact and arrange transfer of electronic files for accounting and tax. This data belongs to the client. After an initial discussion they said it is not standard and would follow up. They never returned the call. After 4 more phone calls they still had not 'gotten authorization' from the owner or manager. Then after finally getting someone on the phone they just refused to give me the information. This will cost the client money in setup fees, which they should not have to pay because they have already paid for QB and tax setup and data entry. I made them aware that the data belongs to the client and they did not seem to care. To this day I have only received one follow up phone call from them over a 1 month period. read more

Yep, I didn't read reviews before coming here. Huge mistake. They DO NOT return phone calls (Marilyn) and the receptionist cannot answer any other question other than what their business hours are. I am not exaggerating. It's your fault if you waste your time going here. We had to show up physically to the office on April 15th to make sure our paperwork was complete after three un-returned phone calls, for over a week. Which also almost cost us our $3000 tax return. Then upon arriving, we went over the paperwork once more only to find another large mistake of shorting us money on our state return. It's like one big disaster at this place. I have been coming here for years and wouldn't think about going anywhere else. I always get right in (with an appointment) get specialized service, professionalism, and sound business advice. To those that gave 1 stars and are angry with A1, this place is a little more in step with business's and more complex returns. HR Block may be a better option for individual returns. read more

Update to my 05/2011 review. A few years ago, we had the IRS sending us statements saying we owed thousands of dollars for the years that we had our taxes filed through this place. When going back through the paperwork, I found that they not only made huge mistakes, but were having us pay taxes for a house we no longer owned. The year that we sold that house, we told the person handling our taxes and was told it would be corrected, it obviously never was. Once I worked with the IRS and had to redo those years on my own, we actually got back a lot more money that was owed to us, a total of almost $10,000 and we had our taxes filed through them for 4 years. Since leaving them, I have been filing my taxes through TurboTax online and pay between $20-40, which is a lot cheaper than the $300 they were charging us every year for doing our taxes incorrectly. read more

I wish I could leave this place 0 stars. Went here to do my taxes this season. Mine are straightforward nothing complicated. Michael had my taxes done by the time I walked into his office. Was literally in his office for 2 mins just so he could tell me my refund amount. I was initially told I was going to be charged $59.99 but after all the bullshit fees I was charged $251 to file my taxes with them. That is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. A coworker of mine did his for free with TurboTax and got $60 more than me and didn't have to pay a single dime to file his taxes. Never again giving them my business. read more

I'am currently having the same experience as the other comment. They never return calls and tried filing my wifes tax's with mine after I had emailed them and called and told them not to. Then the owner told me she was going to charge me $192 dollers and I asked the girl filing my return how much I was actully being charged and she said $250 This is by far the worst experience I have ever had filing my tax's. I will be overlooking my tax's to see if they made any mistakes after the first review. read more

Don't use this business, unless you want to be audited. Me and several people I know have been targeted for audits because this place has no idea how to properly do taxes. They use out dated forms, they take your money and hold it an interest bearing account so they can make money off of your money. They put false deductions on your tax return and then don't carry them over from form to form correctly. Remember you sign and you will be held liable just I was and many others who use A1 have. They wouldn't even represent me during my audit which was pretty intense if you've never been through one. Trust me, I used this business for almost 15 years and they have screwed up my taxes three different times. On April 26, 2011, I received my packet back from A-1 that stated they WOULD E-file my 2010 Federal taxes and I WOULD receive a refund of $357. On July 2017, I received notice from the IRS that I owed $4,912.00 for 2010 for UNFILED taxes. The IRS has levied my Social Security and A-1 and Mr. Lee will not respond. I should've read the reviews before going..this business was recommended by a good friend..I have to agree that we got our 15 minutes of time.. I had all the "work" done before going in the guy that helped us made three mistakes while entering into computer that I caught..they also charged us more than our previous tax preparer.. next year I'll do them myself. If I'm going to do all the work & have to watch everything done I might as well save some money, especially if they make a mistake they won't stand behind it.. the guy told us to get a addressed envelope to pay our State tax from the front desk they was a issue too..on a side note I can't see our return on the IRS website so I called today & was told it was submitted but they couldn't tell me when I would have to call back.. read more

Terrible experience, huge error on previous years return causing our most recent return to be kept by irs. Nevet have calls returned, literally have to drive to their office just to be able to speak to someone. constantly given incorrect info about the status of our current return. Irs and state have no record of current return because OOPS someone decided not to efile our return. It was only efiled because I sat in their waiting rm for two hours to talk to the owner on april 15. Got the runaround, no straight answer as to why our return was never filed. I've been using A-1 Multi Business Center for over 20 years to prepare my taxes. I only use Lisa Tucker (the owner) and she's always done a tremendous job for me. I'm aware there are others here on Yelp who have had poor experiences, but I would have no reservation recommending A-1 to any family member of friend. The are prompt, courteous, professional and thorough. Fees are commensurate with most tax prep outfits and best of all, since moving from California to Texas, I'm still able to have my taxes prepared over the phone! read more

Beware!!!! If you want to be audited, have your taxes done here. Several individuals, including myself, have been audited due to poor tax advice and being told that deductions are correct when in fact they were incorrect. During the auditing process, of which I had kept careful and clear records and receipts for, they were interested in nothing more than cleaning their hands of their responsibility. Unfortunately, I keep hearing the same story about this company from several others who have also been audited! I would be not use this company and if you do, expect an audit.
