I had previously been a TurboTax gal who just handled my own taxes each year and went on my merry way. This year was slightly more complicated with us with a move, foster child (we were hoping for adoption complications, but that will be 2015), and I just really felt like maybe it was time for us to find a professional to handle our taxes for us. I had never used an accountant and really didn't even know where to start. I searched around for reviews (like you are now) and saw Richard had some great reviews. I also checked out his website and liked his style. I liked that he was all on board with electronic submission of our documents to him and then to the government. This year (2014) was the first year we used him and it was so quick, easy (and reasonably priced) I am now left wondering what took me so long to get on board. While you can still submit paper documents to him if you wish, I was able to scan in all our W-2s and other documents, fill out a small spreadsheet with any relevant details, and he had us done and filed in just a few days. I was really shocked by how quickly he was able to handle our taxes and the return was much greater than we expected. All in all a huge win. Richard is professional, friendly, quick to respond and very knowledgeable. I really had worried in the beginning that in order to use an accountant I would end up having to sit in some dusty old office for an hour or two to get our stuff done right, but Richard has his system down and it makes filing so painless.
