I'm not in San Francisco; I am in Redlands, CA [don't know how to change it here]. I want to commend Eloy for being such a professional - and concerned human being when I called in July 2019, so very 'desperate' to stop one of my diverter valves from "blowing water like Ole' Faithful", which began with no apparent reason in our fairly new above the ground spa. He said he was booked until Sept. but spent time talking with me as I explained all the reading & watching video research I had done - to no avail, and he gave me some suggestions to try. I called the Manufacturer who sent a new diverter valve assembly to me. We could not even circulate the water, but had to have the main power off. Then Aug 19 he called that he could come the next day. I was so excited. He came, and the valve blew with his hand on it 3 times, which made me feel a little better that it DID IT--while he was here. He went straight to work, analyzing what was causing the issue and came up with the solution, which meant removing the foam innards, saw-cutting a wood plank and a lot of grunt work, while I was snapping photos of fascination with his work. HE FIXED IT and we are finally able to enjoy our spa. And, another 'best part' is: he actually called us 8 days LATER to make sure everything was OK. How about THAT for customer service! I will not lose his PHONE NUMBER, that's for sure. I experienced a significant pump leak in my older spa and decided to research three local companies for repairs. After contacting A-1, repair technician Tino reached out to me. I explained that our spa was custom-built into the hillside of our home, making repairs our only option. Tino asked me to send him pictures of the spa and to take photos of the area where the leak originated. I sent him the images, and he informed me upfront that the spa was manufactured in 1989 and that he would search for the necessary parts for the repair. On Friday, Tino called to let me know he would be available on Saturdays between 8:00 and 9:30 a.m. He arrived at my home on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. After diagnosing the issue, he began the repairs. We were uncertain whether all the seals and parts would resolve the problem, but he proceeded with the service. Once completed and after refilling the spa, it worked perfectly. We are incredibly pleased with the professionalism, communication, and promptness of Tino and A-1 Spa. I highly recommend A-1 for professional spa repairs if you live in the Inland Empire. After spending more than I wanted to on just a service call from a local pool supplier to diagnose my control unit for my hot tub I was then given an estimate of over $1200.00 to replace the whole unit. I was also told that the units were proprietary which is why it was so expensive. Couldn't be further from the truth. I called A1 Spa Control and asked if the control unit I found on their website was compatible and was quickly asked why I wanted a whole control unit and not just the board. After discussing and going over the installation process I ended up ordering just the board. It was delivered across the US to my door in two days. I installed the board in under an hour and the hot tub was up and running and cranking out the heat. I'm BEYOND thankful I found this place!!! I live in WA and after finding out our hot tub needed a new circuit board (local repair estimates were $1200-1500), I decided to just buy the part and install on our own. When I called, Eloy made sure I was purchasing the right part by asking questions and allowing me to send him pictures via email. The part arrived in just a few days. I had attempted to somewhat self diagnose my spa problems with a multi meter and reading what I could find on the internet. Having tried a couple things and some different parts I had narrowed it down to possibly being a Control Board and in looking on the internet one day I came across the website for A1 Spa Control so I called looking to buy a Control Board. Since Yelp found it necessary to remove my review on A-1 Spa since he did not pay their ransom I will write another. Eloy has been working on my hot tub for about 2 years. Every time I call he is more than willing to help and I get the feeling if he could help me fix something over the phone he would for free. I highly recommend calling these guys before you try to doing it yourself or have a "friend" mess with your spa. I called to verify that I was buying the correct circuit board for my spa (identified as the issue by an electrician). Eloy said that a circuit board would typically not trip the breaker. He offered to come out, trouble shoot and fix the problem the following day. He identified the problem within 15 min, and fixed the spa ... all for less than the cost of the non-refundable circuit board I was ready to buy that would not have fixed the problem.
