Update from my previous review (below). I left an ozone generator and multiple desiccant tubs in my car over night Saturday and Sunday nights to try to dry out any remaining water in the dash. As of Monday, 3/11, the turn signal had started working again. The dealer confirmed that if it was working normally now, that most probably it would be fine going forward. Overall, the tint job on my car is very nice. There is one spot on the dash where what appears to be grass is between the windshield and tint, but it's unobtrusive enough that I'm not going to bother with it. The tint lines are clean, my car is cooler on the inside, and looks great from the outside. I'm happy with the tint but the water in my dash experience definitely was a black mark on the whole thing. I would definitely go back to A-1 tint pros, but when I do, I will be much more diligent about protection they put down to prevent water going into the dash. REVIEW FROM 3/9 BELOW Took my 2018 WRX STI in to get tinted today. Tint looks great, the side effects of it though...not so much. I've been working with Eric who has been professional and has not tried to pressure me into any types of upsells. He's been great to work with for scheduling and was able to get me set up and seen for a tint in 24 hours, which I appreciate. The tint was done at the Raleigh location and was quick for getting all the windows tinted (windshield - clear, everything else - tinted). The car looks great, I do hope that some of the waviness in the tint comes out as the tint cures. I was told this waviness was due to water still under the tint that had to come out just over 3-5 days. On the drive home though is when the problems start. About 5 minutes out after I leave my left turn signal begins to flash at waaaaay faster than normal speed, and I'm not signaling left as well. After that the signal starts blinking normally, completely uncommanded. So I ended up driving home with my left turn signal going constantly with nothing I can do about it. I call Jason (the owner) and he tells me that it may "just need to reset itself" and that there's a very low probability that any water from the tinting process could get into my dash. On arrival home, I start pulling off dash pieces to investigate and find the picture you see below. Obviously an appreciable amount of water has gotten into the dash of my car from the tinting process and it is now causing electrical issues. I call Jason again with this evidence and he promises to make this right and I really hope he does. I will go to the dealership in 2 days to find out what's going on. More to come. read more

I brought my car in, the back window tint has been purple and bubbled since I bought it. He quoted me a fair price to remove the baked on, caked on gunk and 3 hours of steady effort later, my window is so clear it doesn't even look like there's glass there. He and his crew powered their way through a really difficult job. I decided to have him re-tint the car, and it looks outstanding. Love these guys. Taylor and Jason (owner) were great. Even after a couple issues they had a great attitude and didn't hesitate to help. The shop is easy to drive right by, it's in a small string of other auto related shops. The "A-1 Tint Pros" sign is small, it's easier to spot the "WINDOW TINTING" sign. All the shops here are small but they get it done right. I would absolutely take any future cars here for window tinting. I just moved back down to Raleigh in the fall and had to get my windows tinted due to the heat. I searched online for type and visited the shop 3 times to talk with Jose. Although they didn't have the tint I wanted I decided to go with them based on customer service, personality and overall detail. A good bunch of guys who know what they are doing. I had my car done 2-days ago but can definitely feel the performance/difference in the ceramic tint. I hope it holds up but I am confident that if I have any issues these guys can fix it-solid shop. read more

The person who applied it complained about the material being hard to work with (didn't say that when I was buying it!) and suggested I leave the car with him for a day.. This fellow does really great work. He explained all the options and tint levels and quality and UV reduction, etc. They know what they are doing and got my car done in 2 hours. Just call and setup an appointment and it shouldn't ever take very long. While you are waiting you can get a tattoo upstairs. I'm bringing my other vehicles here to get some of that tint so no one can see me creeping. read more

I have taken all my cars to this place over the years... an Audi, a BMW, and most recently a Jeep Grand Cherokee. These guys do great work and take the time to communicate all of the important care and warranty information. You don't have to overpay to get great film applied to your vehicle. The only issue I have is that whenever I get my vehicle back, I always have a lot of spots and streaks on the outside of my car from whatever fluid they are using. Just don't bother washing your car until AFTER you get the tint job done. read more

When we moved to the area 4 years ago, we brought our car and SUV to A-1 Tint Pros to help keep the car cool from the strong sun. All of the staff were very professional, completed the work in a timely fashion and we never had any problems at all with the tint. Recently, my SUV was totaled in an accident and I brought in the SUV I replaced it with. I called in the morning and the said they had an opening to take me right away. This is a really odd review, but we got such great customer service that I felt the need to write. I live in Charlotte, so my fella called the Charlotte location on a Monday and arranged for them to come out on Saturday at 3:00 for a home window tinting estimate. By 3:30 on Saturday, the guy hadn't shown up so we called his mobile number - it had been disconnected. We called the shop. THAT number had been disconnected. We even called from a second phone just to make sure. The only other thing we knew was to call their Raleigh location, and we got someone - hoorah! That guy apologized and said he'd figure out what was going on and call us back. About 30 minutes later, Raleigh guy called us to apologize for Charlotte guy who'd just totally forgotten about the appointment. Charlotte guy never called to apologize or anything! It's too bad we can't use Raleigh A-1 Tint Pros since they actually value customer service and went above and beyond for customers that weren't even technically theirs. read more

Jason was very knowledgable and took the time to compare the different tint colors, UV blockage percentages, prices, etc. My car was finished in the time frame I was told, and I'm really pleased with the results! Ok.. I had my windows tinted almost a year ago. I purposely waited because I wanted to see if I would experience issues. Nope. No issues. Very professional. Jose answered all of my questions and addressed my concerns. He matched the tint perfectly with my car. Not too dark, not too light - looks factory made. On cloudy days and at night the tint looks darker than in the daytime when the sun is shining. No more glares from the sun. No bubbles, no streaks, no lines. They did both my BMW X5 as well as my Jaguar XF Supercharged. The quality of the work is excellent. They are fast and very reasonable priced. They also helped me when I accidentally open my window twice before I was suppose to open it. They checked to see if it was damaged but it wasn't. This is the place to get your tints done in Raleigh. I got my 350z tinted there is no bubbling whatsoever. Great customer service, they want to work with you to find the perfect tint for you. I went with the suntek nano-hybrid tint which I absolutely love! They have a great selection of different tints. I spent about $50 more than I was planning and it is a little hard to find. read more

I had a great experience at A-1 Tint Pros! I was fortunate enough to meet the companies owner Jason who just happen to be at the Charlotte location that day. He's clearly a successful business man but layed back with no high pressure sales. If you go to the Charlotte location you can expect to meet Collin. He's super friendly and energetic and will show you your tinting options which are in displayed using a hot light behind the tinted windows. I was impressed just how much light/heat was reduced just by these quality tinted windows.I decided to go with the mid grade option which blocked most of the heat and was competitively priced about $300 for all the windows of my Hyundai Elantra. It took less than 2 hrs to finish tinting my car. While waiting I was curious just how they installed the window tint. They had no problem welcoming me to go back in the shop to see the process involving a high quality sheeting that is carefully applied. After it is applied you can not even differentiate your window from the tinting sheeting. It's just a tinted window! That's where I meet Antonio. He clearly knows his stuff! After all this what they specialize in, it's not a general body shop. If your thinking about getting your windows done don't hesitate go here. I don't remember the gentleman's name at the front desk, but he took the time to walk through every option with us and did not try and pressure us into the most expensive deal. I found A-1 via a Yelp search and decided to check them out based on the high number of positive reviews since many shops have such mixed reviews. The shop is a little hard to spot, but is on the back side of a building with a tattoo shop in the front. Jose explained to me all of the different options, but without pressure or up selling. Once we determined which tint was best for me he actually got started immediately and within two hours I had a professional job on all of my windows. My car looks great and it definitely helps keep it cooler in the hot NC weather. I originally was going to get my spouses windows tinted as a birthday present. When I called to set the appointment, the guy on the phone was incredibly rude and disrespectful. For the price I was paying to get this job done you would think they would be a little more willing to try and work out a time that works for everyone without speaking to people like they are children and basically saying they can not cater to any one person even though that is not what I asked for. I went to A-1 Tint Pros today to have my tint removed. My tint was installed in California and was over the NC tint limit. I had a wonderful experience for two reasons: 1) Quick turn around. I called prior to ask how long it would take to get the tint removed and I was told 2 hours. I told them I would be there are 1 pm. I arrived almost an hour late, but Omar immediately started working hard on the removal. He completed it in an hour and a half. 2) Omar's professionalism. During the removal process, it became clear that the type of tint being removed was a lower quality tint that left more glue residue and would require work intensive clean-up. What happened next was a rarity - Omar only charged me the estimated cost and did not increase the charge despite the extra work. That's rare to find in this field. I had a brand new car tinted at their Cary location. I paid approximately $450 for the tint job only to have it redone 3 times total because of all the bubbles which was a huge inconvenience. After the 3rd time, the tint looked great but then there were several scratches on my paint around the areas they had fixed. I was told there was no way they could have done it. I guess it was just a coincidence that scratches that were not their 2 days prior ended up in those same areas on a brand new car. The location was supposed to pay to have it repaired and after several weeks I brought it in only to find out they had one of their inexperienced in-house employees buffing and repairing the scratches. I will not be returning and suggest you to think twice before using this business. read more

I ended up at A-1 by the fact that they were my third choice, but they should have been my first! The first place I called told me they won't do tint until March (what?), the second place I flat out couldn't find, and so I decided to give these guys a try. Everyone there is nice and laid back, and they finished my vehicle in about 30 minutes. Perfect work. The place is around the back of a medium size complex, but don't be deterred by that.
