8/17/24 Zero stars if I could. Suburu Roadside Assistance contacted them to jump my car at the shore at around 4:50 AM- like a jerk I gave them the benefit of the doubt and called after 90 minutes. They claim that they were never contacted by Suburu. The person who answered did NOTHING to help me at ALL. Don't expect any help if you're in need. Really enjoyed this service today! Apparently I have the hardest car they've ever had to get into (after my driver's side door handle broke & the key fob wouldn't unlock the other door or hatch because my battery also died! Epic Mode! Lol) But magically somehow they were able to get my car door open, pop the hood, and give me a jump! The service truck may take a while to arrive, but these guys are skilled!! These guys were great, referred by USAA roadside, on time, on target, showed up early , very helpful getting my vehicle towed to a trusted mechanic I don't get the deal with all the negative reviews on here, people need to take a Xanax and try having a little patience, being a tow truck driver is a very hard, dangerous, and UNAPPRECIATED job. We called our insurance company's roadside for a tow. A-1 came at 2:30 pm to take our car to Philadelphia from NJ to our mechanic. Our car did not get to the mechanic until 10:30 pm. We kept calling and asking where is our car and why was it taking so long. First they said our car was in Sewell. Come to find out, it was on a flat bed in Elmer. They were waiting for the traffic to die down getting into Philly before taking our car. Once he got there he couldn't find a place to park the car. We had to drive over to Philly and find a place to put the car. Which is fine, if it were earlier in the day not at 11:00 at night. read more

Tire blew on way to Sea Isle right before Exit 24 (Millville). 4 kids in the car under 7... called Progressive roadside assistance and they sent A-1. They were there in less than ten minutes! Guy they sent (don't know his name) was great with the kids and was very polite. We were back up and running in less than 10 minutes. Horrible business, no costumer service. They say they tow at all times of the day. But when we asked them to tow our car at 8:00am they said they couldn't come that early. So we made reservations for 8:30am. At 8:45am they hadn't arrived. They also didn't bother to give us a courtesy call! When we called them, they told us they sent their towing truck to someone else! They acted like it was no big deal that they were late. We have jobs to go to and can't just wait all day for them to get around to it. Needless to say, we canceled the appointment with A-1 Towing. Do NOT use this company if you don't have to! They made us wait 2 1/2 hours after calling to get a jump or a tow for a dead battery. They got paid $100 from Allstate, my insurance company, and charged us $72 extra for the tow after waiting 2 1/2 hours for them to get to our house. "Jennifer" claimed she's the owner, and after calling her several times to reimburse us the $72, she claimed, "I waited too long to complain to her"! Well as I explained to her, the truth is it was my first tow experience using Allstate (I had GEICO for 15 years), and I was waiting for Allstate to reimburse us for the $72 only to find out they only covered up to $100 for the tow so it was A1's to reimburse us. Jennifer gave me such a HARD TIME! She clearly isn't good to deal with! read more

The worse service ever. I called Honda road service and was given A 1 towing. I told Honda I just needed a tire change not a tow , as my tire was flat. They assigned me anyhow to A 1 towing. I waited two and a half hours and no one showed up. I called A1 only to be told It was strictly a tow and that a wrong ticket was put thru . When I told A 1 that I was waiting over two hours she told me It was not that long and hung up on me. I was repeatedly asked if I was in a safe area by Honda Luckily I was home and my flat tire was in my driveway. I would never count on A1 to get me out of an unsafe area. read more

3 and a half hours waiting for nothing. My road assistance picked A1 towing for my broken down car and the initial estimate was 50-70 minutes. After 80 minutes I called A1 to check the status to be told there's a delay and it would be another 30 minutes. I called every 20-30 minutes since to be told the same story, it would only be 20 minutes more. Each time I'm told the driver is almost here, then they are in traffic, or stuck behind and accident. However, there were no traffic jams anywhere in the area according to a traffic app. I called my road assistance to see what they can do and they are told the same story, an additional 15 minutes. After three and a half hours waiting I cancelled the tow because I wanted nothing to do with this company. read more

Drew changed the tire and pointed out the problem so I can get the old tire patched rather than spend the $$ for a new tire. If I could give less than one star I would. I've waited over 2 hours for them to arrive when I needed them, for me not even being 3 miles down the road from where they're located. I was patient and waited. I received a phone call saying that they'd be here in 10 minutes. An half hour went by so I called to make sure that assistance was still on their way. When I called, whoever answered the phone answered unprofessionally not even stating his name. He then told me that someone would arrive in 20 minutes, I told them I had a baby in my car and he told me all he could do was call a taxi for me. What's the point of calling a taxi when for one, my car doesn't need to be towed? Here I am now, still waiting for roadside assistance and it's been well over 2 hours. I know that if I ever need roadside service again I will NEVER even bother to contact this company again or even recommend it. read more

HORRIBLE!! My husband's SUV wouldn't start at our local mall. Yesterday's weather was 12 degrees. It took them 3 1/2 hours to finally tow him and that was after he called them twice and me once! My wife received THE WORST customer service from an extremely rude dispatcher named Jennifer today, (who claimed to be the only employee named "Jennifer", when later asked by our insurance agent) who hung up on my wife numerous times while my wife was trying to gain assistance from A1 towing today via our insurance company's road assistance program which led my wife to A1 in the first place. My wife explained that she had already said what the mile marker was and was almost certain of it. Originally, she had told the insurance company that she was near a certain exit, but later a kind state cop came by and confirmed that my wife was actually 2 exits further up the road, but confirmed the actual mile marker originally given by my wife was correct and was only off by one digit; he said that after he checked on his cop call, he would come back to check on my wife. My wife was told by Jennifer to get out of the car and confirm the mile marker on the road. My wife explained she was pregnant and afraid to get out of the car on the busy highway. My wife explained to Jennifer that a state cop had stopped by on his way to another call and confirmed the actual mile marker verbatim for my wife to tell the dispatcher, and confirmed the correct nearby exit. Jennifer said that if my wife did not get out of the car (on the busy highway) she would cancel the request. My wife refused, saying that what the state cop had confirmed should have been good enough. Jennifer stated that if my wife would not get out of the car to check the mile marker that A1 towing could not help her and hung up on her. My wife called back and was frustrated and frantic because she refused to get out of the car to check the mile marker that the police officer had confirmed, along with the new corresponding exit. Jennifer was exceedingly rude and said that if my wife would not get out of the car and confirm the mile marker, and because she refused to respond to my wife's now elevated (and frightened) tone that it was just "too bad and that she was going to cancel the distress call completely and would send no one out to help. Click. And here's the kicker - A1 in Norma, New Jersey was only about 10 minutes away from my wife's car! Way to go A1! We are telling all of our friends about your lousy and dangerous customer service, and we have filed a report with our insurance company asking them to take you off of their road assistance program listing. We have already heard another story from a neighbor where A1 came out to change a tire for them (another woman alone) on a busy highway at night. Half way through the job, the A1 driver did not have all of their tools with them and left the woman saying that they were going to be right back. An hour later, no one from A1 had returned! The woman called another agency and received help. She received no further call, explanation or apology from A1. Unbelievable. Do not use this service. Absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable all around. Fortunately my wife called back our insurance company and was immediately helped by a great service, Rock Towing, who was there in minutes, kind and completely professional. We will give Rock Towing a glowing review, as deserved! read more

I don't think it's possible to put zero stars so I had to put one but what a horrible experience. I realize that my car would not start at 2:45 I quickly called to get a tow I was told that it would be one hour. Although I called back twice and was told he's on the way it actually took 2 1/2 hours!! When I called A1 to find out what took so long the supervisor rudely said "well you know it's rush-hour and you were not the only one waiting on the side of the road." What kind of apology was that? Very professional and also VERY customer oriented. My cars battery died and I needed to have it jump started. The driver, Josh arrived on time and also called me when about 15 minutes away to confirm my location. Josh got my cars battery started with no problems and was VERY courteous and professional. I had to call Roadside after discovering a nail in my tire when I was about to leave work. I was in New Jersey and two other occasions they sent SETi. Being out of state, I wasn't sure who would respond. The response time was approximately an hour. When they arrived in a rollback, my initial impression was good. That changed. I asked if Gio, the technician that responded, could plug my tire. No, they don't do that. So, okay, just change the tire. After it was changed, the donut tire needed air. I asked Gio to inflate the spare. Now, I have a Jeep with a lift kit and was nervous to begin with driving on a donut. He didn't have an air pump!!!! Are you kidding me??? No air pump on a rollback!!! I had to drive with a spare that had less than 20 psi. The donut needed to be inflated to 60 psi. Thank God there was a Wawa less than two miles away. Do not use these people!!! And I too, would give less than one star if that had been an option. read more
