I called several fence contractors,  but Ed is the only one that called me back the same day,…read more Saturday.  We scheduled a walk through on Sunday.  Ed quoted a fair price for two wrought iron gates,  so we went with him.  when he came to measure for the specs, he did not have a tape measure,  and had to use mine.  I believe that someone else at the shop fabricates the gates.  On install day,  Ed informed me that he did not account for the cost of powder coating,  and requested an additional $250... on top of the signed contract price.  (Last minute price gouge,  or pricing oversight? )  Either way, we choose l.e. fence based on the price bid, so the extra $250 was not going to happen.  During install I discovered a broken ornamental finial the ed blamed on transportation.   Ed was the one transporting,  and the finial was sticking up,  so don't know how it could have broken.  He re-welded it, but didn't clean up the weld,  just sprayed over with spray paint.   Then he filled in two of the four post holes with concrete, and filled the other two with dirt- so I had a concert pad (that was formed for post holes ) with an iron post surrounded by dirt... I over heard ed telling his worker that he didn't want to have to go to all the way (15 min away) to homedepot to get another bag. After I addressed it with Ed, he asked "oh you wanted all of the holes filed? " He agreed to come back the next day and fill the concrete. I told him that I would just fill it myself (cost me two whole dollars for the bag of concrete) and we settled the contract. Now the two dollar out of my pocket to pour my own post holes was not a deal breaker, but a contractor that doesn't complete a job 100 percent prohibits me from using them again or referring their services. Not to mention the question if they will make up $250 oversight on the next job...

Luckily, my dad referred us to Roberto, whom had done a great job fixing and repainting his fence. Roberto was great. He repaired our fence without us having to replace the whole thing and spend a fortune. He welded new iron parts to areas that broke off and painted the entire fence. Our fence is as good as new. We were so happy with his work we then hired him to install a new side gate for us. Roberto is very punctual, responsive, thorough, and his price is very competitive. Most importantly, he does great work. Would definitely call him again if we need any wrought iron work.

The crew was here sharp had the old fencing down and installed the posts. After thier lunch break, they busted thier tails to get done. They even used a magnet deal to make sure all nails and screws were picked up so that no one would get hurt. They will be back on Monday to replace the gate to the back yard and remove all the old fence. Very great work, prompt and accurate and also very level.
