A&D cabs recently went to an app for scheduling cabs, which for the most part works great (except you can't leave the driver a tip when paying through the app). HOWEVER, since the company has done away with their live and local dispatchers, and hired a call center of Nigerians, the frustration level for customers is extremely high. Overseas dispatchers do not understand simple questions or the English language with any level of proficiency and are downright rude. They want to deflect any issues and don't seem to have any real method to trouble-shoot when needed. A&D needs to have English-speaking local people employed in the dispatch center who know the local streets and businesses as reference points, not to mention their drivers, vans and customers. The company may be saving money with this "hands-off" approach, but their customers are frustrated beyond belief. Your foreign call center employees are ruining your business. If there was another cab company locally, you would be losing customers by the minute. read more

It never matters how early my wife calls for a taxi, they always manage to make her late for work. She calls far enough in advance to be on time. Today she called at 7:20 for a ride to work and was told they would be right there. 25 minutes later she calls back and is told a couple of minutes. 5 minutes later she calls yet again and is hung up on. This company has extremely rude drivers also ones that drive way over the speed limit zigzag in and out of traffic I have no idea how they're still in business. You see them sitting all over town smoking in their vehicles which is disgusting at best and a health hazard for anyone riding in their vehicles. Gave them one star because you can't give them zero stars it's very sad that we only have very limited taxi service in this area and we're basically held hostage by this horrible company that is frankly dangerous to anybody who rides in it the way these drivers drive the vehicles. For example my grandfather being transported home from the emergency room in the middle of the night the driver fell asleep and went off the road with my grandfather in the backseat but that seem to be OK with them. Thank God for A & D! We were in Cooperstown for the weekend. Arrived Friday afternoon and left Saturday. Since we were in town for a show at Omegang we didn't want to drive from Cooperstown to the show. Close enough to cab it and also, let's face it, BEER! While at Cooley's we asked about taxi services and were given the card for another one. We were told they were the only game in town. Long story short: they never showed. A driver from A&D offered to call us a cab as he was picking up another group but realized he could fit us. He was super friendly and a very good driver. The cab was clean and everything worked well. After the show we saw a few full A&D cabs leaving. Another company played some games with us but then we spotted an empty A&D. Again a super friendly driver. This cab was pretty dirty (empty soda/energy/water drink bottles and wrappers) and the back STUNK like sweaty gym socks and hand jobs. I mentioned the smell and the driver immediately apologized and said he hates stinky cabs. And that he had some febreeze and would hit it after. He was another good driver. I do have one gripe. He did not wear his seatbelt. Apparently this is the law in NYS or federally, that certain types of drivers don't have to wear them. However, as a passenger I want my driver to be strapped in as they are more likely to have control of the car longer in the event of an accident. The cab driver was telling a story about how good the cops are in the area and that the only time he got pulled over was for not wearing his belt. I didn't challenge him because he was a big dude and I didn't want to start shit but I think A&D should consider this rule for their drivers. Even if the law says it's okay not to wear one an employer can make a work rule for safety reasons. And this is one that should be made. If you are in Cooperstown I strongly recommend putting these guys in your phone in the event you need a cab to an event or just have a few too many. Friendly, good drivers. read more

I have been dealing with this company for over 10 years now. They have had the monopoly of medicaid transport for rural places, such as where I live. Their millionaire management team prey on those of us who are living in poverty. It doesn't matter if you are a customer, or work for them in any capacity. Recently, they fired their day dispatchers with no notice, and hired ppl who live in Nigeria. Their medicaid drivers are forced to use unsafe vans, work long hours, can barely make rent,and take on multiple runs at a time, leaving the customers literally stranded for hours. My latest, and last issue with A&D, was as usual, they continually lied about knowing that I've had the same PT standing order for 3 years now. This happens every time my regular driver quits, or is moved to another location. I have to go back and forth btwn my medicaid insur. company (who always has everything documented that A&D does have my schedule and agreed to transport me) and Brian, one of the big wig millionaires living in Florida. Earlier last week, when my insurance rep talked with Brian, he told her that drivers had been to my house each day and time to pick me up, but I kept turning them away if they weren't the driver that I wanted? And they would "consider" continuing to take me if I stopped!? Really? Or I canceled my trips? So i made screen shots from their own app, of all the drivers that had taken me. Several. That weren't turned away. If ppl knew what is really going on with this company, shared personal experiences, and the facts were made public, there would be no A&D, their top 3 should be in prison. My advice? If they don't pick you up, immediately call MAS. Otherwise, they will, and do, commit medicaid fraud, saying they gave you that ride. File grievances with your insurance company when they lie to you or about you. One may not seem much, but they add up when companies think about whether they want to contract with A&D. I had to give directions the entire way as my driver kept going the wrong way. After the trip when I realized I dropped my wallet containing my important identifications and also $100 in cash I called it in only to basically be mocked and laughed at about as they repeatedly asked if I was sure I dropped it in the cab. I was sorting my identifications and insurance cards on the way home as I conversate with the driver. I definitely dropped it in the cab, only to be taunted and teased about it. I had a fantastic experience with A&D! It was my first time visiting the area and I was nervous about traveling solo as a woman with spotty cell service. The moment I saw Julie, my driver, I was relieved! She made the nearly hour drive fly by with her humor and heart-felt stories about the area. She also went above and beyond in her care, making sure the friend's car I was picking up started and that I was able to get out of the snowy driveway ok. Just a poorly run taxi company. They had one good dispatcher about a year ago. Now when I hear that they're a few moments or seconds away, it could be 45 minutes. I've been standing outside the grocery store holding my bags, in the winter time, for three hours before while being lied to by dispatch. You cannot rely on them, if you need a ride with A&D you're better off limping to where you need to go, at least you know how long it will take you to get to the doctors and you won't have to get abused and lied too. Certainty being better than uncertainty being the case. Otherwise, just make sure you're not doing anything the day of your trip. read more

If I could give no stars I would. We had a pick up scheduled for NYE to bring my grandparents to a wedding. They were to be picked up at 4:00 pm. My mother in law was riding with them to assist them as they are elderly. Thank goodness she was with them, because A&D never showed up. My Mother in Law called to find out where they were, and she was told there was never a pick up scheduled. My mom made this arrangement weeks before hand. She even stopped into the office to make sure it was on their schedule (it wasn't, so they had to add it a second time). I called the day before the pick up was scheduled to triple confirm they were good to go - they said they were, and gave me the name of the driver. Had my mother in law not been with my grandparents they would never have made it to my sister's wedding. What a joke of a company. read more

If there was a way to select zero stars I absolutely would. This past weekend was my wedding. A day that I had planned down to the very last detail including transportation for my grandparents who are in their 80s and do not feel comfortable driving alone in the dark and snow. My family had confirmed transportation on more than one occasion (in person and over the phone) and A & D never showed up. Instead we were left to scramble. Fortunately we did find a relative in the area who was able to grab them. But This pushed the start of my wedding back by 40 minutes. During this time my guests were extremely restless waiting. I had to sacrifice time for pictures with my husband because we were already on a set schedule. I couldn't be more disappointed and heartbroken. After putting so much time, effort, and resources into something I was still forced to make a decision on having time for lifelong pictures or waiting for my grandparents to arrive to share in the event. While our wedding was absolutely beautiful I'm just so upset that we were put in that position. I will never get that time back or have those pictures to relive those moments. We're really disappointed in this business. A&D Taxi was hired to pick-up the grandparents for a New Year's eve wedding last night. One of the family members even called the day before to confirm that everything was set... Well, they simply did not show up. When they were called, they suddenly had "no record of the reservation." Sub-zero cold, and the family elders, who are so looking forward to the wedding, were left to wonder what had happened. Beautiful. Stay away!! Completely unorganized. Tried booking them for a wedding using the Mercedes sprinter van. Asked them 5 times to confirm and the guy just kept saying "let me talk to my boss sweetheart" told me several times he would get back to me by end of day, never did. At one point he actually asked if he could call me later because he needed to be available for other customers! I'm sorry I'm a paying customer that's trying to get a contract with you. Some drivers smoke, many of the vans are dirty inside and out, they tell you 15 minutes and it ends up usually being at least an hour, and they refuse to take you out of town on busy nights when they only want to stay local. Choose ANYONE else over them. read more

This cab company is a shit show call at 4 am for a timed pick up at 640 cab showed up at 7:05 was never told they only had 2 drivers. Than the manager was suppposed to make it right never left a note or anything to that effect so it was never made right. Rode in a taxi again on 4/19 the driver must have been on drugs she tried to drive to the end of river street which is a dead end at the end closet to the hampton indicating she could get to country club ave that way?! Next I asked if she needed me to call the main office to give them my debit card, was told she waa equipped to take my card via her cell phone software. She than proceeds to use her phone while driving and goes over the double yellow line trying to get my card and doesn't even capture it. Than drives past my turn at that point I hopped out at a red light and walked home. Called in the morning spoke to the manager again and was told that she drove like that because she had issues trusting her boyfriend?! Set up 2 timed pick ups for 10 pm again the message was never relayed. Needless to say will be utilizing 123 taxi from now on! After posting this review A and D response waa awful the person I spoke to was and "moron" they hope to never transport me again and after letting them know what happened via facebook how dare I use their facebooks. So please be ware of this company as most drivers are shady possibly on drugs and cant not contain their personal life. About a 10 minute ride to station. 12:15 np cab, called and told they are running behind and will be just. Couple of minutes. Called again and was yelled at by dispatcher who said they are running late. Guy finally shows up at 12:55. Hoping bus may be late we jump in and head to station. Bus is gone and my day is ruined. Oh and gave him $10 for a $7 fare. No change. Disgraceful and rude service. Find an alternative if you can. read more

I was going to be in Cooperstown Columbus weekend and wanted to go to Hyde Hall for the Hyde and Scream tour. I called A &D Transport to prebook transportation there and back. I should have realized when I first called that this was a unorganized company. First phone call I was switched to someone who never picked up. Called back, they switched me to someone who eventually picked up but hung up on me. I called back again and they switched me to someone else who took all my info, credit card # and told me that the driver will wait for me there for the return trip for $75. I thought great and booked it. Come Saturday, I called at 5pm to confirm my 5:45 pick up. Surprise.... they don't have my booking. I kept being put on hold by a not so nice person. No apologies, nothing. I finally hung up. Needless to say no one showed up. Do not use this company! Very unorganized! If I could give zero stars I would. read more

My friends and I called A&D to go from SUNY Oneonta to the southside mall and on our way out of the taxi my friend was exiting the back row of the cab and lightly hit her head on the sunglasses holder that was down when we entered the cab. After my friend LIGHTLY TAPPED HER FOREHEAD on the sunglasses holder, our driver proceeded to scream and curse at my friend calling her a "fucking retard" among many other things all while we were on the phone with A&D giving them the credit card # to pay for our ride. My friend apologized to the driver for bumping her head on the sunglasses holder and he continued to berate her. My other friend and I informed the woman on the phone of what was going on and she said that our driver is just grumpy and had been working all day. After I said I didn't think we should have to pay for the horrible service we received she said we had to pay for our ride.
