Not only did I not receive my items, I am out $300. I placed my order May 29, 2020. As of August 24, 2020 I've not received it. I got an email from the owner saying it was out of her hands. This was such a poor customer experience. I never had anything like this happen before, and certainly not with a yarn shop. I've ordered from several UK shops before and even during the same time. I understand covid is making things crazy at the moment and since my package was being shipped internationally, I was very patient. I was at least expecting a replacement offer, but didn't even get that unfortunately. I was not going to post but just wanted to warn those who may be ordering Stateside. Maybe pay extra for FedEx shipping or something.

Picked up a brooch from Sothebys after a successful bid but found the overall experience wanting…read more They were very disorganized - my initial outreach, to inquire about collection logistics (picking it up versus shipping), required multiple emails before someone finally acknowledged my request & I was advised picking it up would the more cost-effective option.....since I was visiting London in a couple of months, we agreed I would stop by I provided the date I would be there to collect my item and they requested my departure documentation, about 6 weeks in advance, so all the export paperwork would be ready.....you see where this is going..... They were not prepared, at all. They couldn't find me in their system, then they couldn't locate the item. The paperwork had not even been started & it took over 2 HOURS to prepare....... when I sent them everything, as requested, 6 weeks prior and I had emails assuring me everything would be ready At one point, I was told they weren't expecting me until 12 days later - which would have been my departure date FROM GERMANY. Again, simply reading our correspondence would have shown that you acknowledged the date I stated I would be there to collect the item - maybe a calendar entry on your part would solve these mix-ups in the future? The paperwork I was provided forced me to get TWO sets of customs stamps leaving the UK and then the EU, and they were also bold enough to charge a £90 "administration fee" for refunding MY VAT! And this not to mention the buyer's premium they charge (which everyone does so can't fault there) but they also charged another £60 for storage, for not picking up my item within 30 days. Are you serious?! I love Sothebys & the items you offer for auction but I will definitely think twice before purchasing from this London location. All the extra fees and disorganization may prove the experience unworthy - I've seen better!

It took a further 2 months then I received news it was all going ahead in the December 2020 auction. However because they decided just before auction there was a problem with the back case they refused to sell it. I had wasted 4 months and had to pay for the revision before it was returned. It was only returned after I paid the revision cost but not running at all, they blamed the parts in the movement that were running perfectly until it went to them, remember I have a video. First of all, they failed to mention that the engraving on my wedding band would vanish (covered in rhodium)! When I asked about this, I was told they know better. This is unacceptable! Perhaps why the lady at the desk told me to never remove my ring from my finger - so that I wouldn't see their mistake! Next, I gave them my favorite ring to repair, as it had bent from being so fragile and thin. The difference was barely noticeable and after wearing it once, once of the diamonds fell out! I do not recommend this place at all. Please beware. They seem like nice enough folks, but I don't recommend the work.

I have decided that Muji has just become my favourite store of the moment. Maybe it is because I…read moream just a little bit of a geek when it comes to home wear, but I love sifting through the shop and examining the clever storage devices and gadgets. Lately I have been getting excited about the weather stations, the solar chargers, the clever international multi-adapters, the shower radios, the city pop-up cards, the wall-mounted CD players, the wind-up walkie talkies, the fair trade cotton sheets and so much more. I will admit that I have recently been suffering from a huge obsession with anything even remotely Japanese and this has obviously played a huge part in my love affair with Muji - but it's just so clever I doubt many people could resist. Muji will definitely be one of my top shopping destinations for Christmas gifts this year.

Over the past couple of weeks, I hunted high and low around Central London and then up and down Neal Street only to return to Offspring, the same place I had purchased my last few pairs of trainers. If you've ever ambled along Neal Street, then you should certainly be aware that a better name for this Covent Garden pedestrian lane near Seven Dials might as well be called Shoe Street given that a majority of the shops on it are shoe stores. They're mostly the same, selling whatever is hip-n-happening in trendy footwear fashion and as far as I can tell all retail at roughly the same price at any and all of the Neal Streets shops. What sets Offspring apart from the others is efficient service and, at least for me, a higher probability of having the right size in stock. Generally, I go for Adidas or New Balance. I need the arch support these brands offer. I like the simple designs of both as well, especially when accentuated with a mix of vibrant colours (it seems I have a 'thing' for trainers with lots of green or orange and maybe even a bit of hi-viz yellow). As your typical urban dweller, I walk a lot and can burn through a good pair of rubber soles in no time. Over the years, I've found Adidas and New Balance last a bit longer than other brands. Offspring always has a great selection of both. Of course, I'm not fanatically loyal to either of the aforementioned athletic shoes. If a particularly attractive pair of, say, Vans speaks to me, I'll go for it (and then head to Boots for arch supporting insoles). Offspring offers as current a line up of newly released trainers as any shop in London (and, thus, probably the world). I've noticed over the years that I'm usually more than satisfied with their shoes on display and that I have to wait much less time being attended to and checking out than at other shoe stores.
