Douglas called me and notified me where he was and the ETA of his arrival. He was so nice and knowledgeable, took very good care of my Tesla. I left my car uncharged for few weeks when I was out of town and it was zero charge level. So I couldn't open the door and nothing was functioning. Douglas jump started my Tesla and he managed to access into the car, slowly moved my Tesla out from the garage. At this moment I was relieved to see that it's probably not too bad. Douglas assured me that this won't be a big deal. He took my Tesla to the nearby Tesla service center and I just had to swap out a 12V battery to the new one and that's all. I was leaving a venue in Inglewood, CA and I realize that my car began to shake and the engine light turned on I knew it wasn't a smart choice to drive back home with a car being in that condition. I decided to call GEICO to assist me with a towing service and I was referred to this company. The driver had very good communication and that the car would be delivered in a safe manner. The driver even arrived there earlier than expected and made the entire towing process a much easier experience. Mind you, this all happened around midnight. A quick description of what happened. I had my car towed in June of this year to an auto shop. A And J Towing came and towed my vehicle to the location. They ran over the key fob and informed me immediately to inform them as soon as my car was repaired so they could replace it. I thought this was amazing. My car was fixed about 50 days later. I contacted them and called over 20 or 30 times with them responding they are working on getting it replaced. Talk about being patient and graceful. Nothing has happened to this day and I have had to contact my insurance company and their contractors to no longer use them. Please please please if you want someone that's responsible, do not use their services. They are unprofessional and lie about their intentions of replacing something that they damaged. Beware and find a different tow company that sticks to their word and and does what they're supposed to do. Just a follow up. After writing this review, Andy the owner called me back and tried to defend himself that he was waiting for a response because the inside of the key fob was missing. Talk to your employees about that as I don't know why anything was missing. That was on the fault of your driver. He didnt apologize but made excuses and responded negatively to my frustration. This should not happen when you are the company at fault. Again beware and find a reputable professional tow company. I didn't think this would be a big deal when getting a car towed but it obviously is!! read more

Terrible customer service, unprofessional, & they do not follow up or through with what they say! Their tow truck driver ran over my wife's key fob and crushed it. They (A&J) said they would take responsibility to pay to get it repaired. This was months ago & both my wife & I called numerous times for a status update. Each & everytime, Julian would answer the phone & try to be helpful saying he would speak to owner (Andy) to get an update & call me back. Each & everytime, he never called back. After many calls, Julian even started blaming Andy saying this is being taken care of but not sure what the hold up was. After numerous calls & patience, we decided to contact our inusrance company (USAA) & file through them. We highly advised USAA to consider terminating the contract they have with them as a 3rd party tow truck company. I am appalled at how a business could operate this way after damaging the key fob. I advise everyone to NOT ever use A&J Towing as you will be disappointed with their service. The worst part is we gave them every opportunity to make this right & each time, they failed! P.S. - if I could give A&J Towing zero stars I would have but the system makes you select at least one star. They are very fortunate to receive one star! read more

My car got towed and when calling to get information on where my car was and location of place to pay, i spoke with a man named Jesse who was very rude and would not give me the address to anything unless i made an appointment to get my car out which is odd because they obviously have my car and continued to be weird laughing on the phone. As i went in to pay to get my car taken out he was still being very rude IN PERSON. Should not be working with people with that attitude. They said they had canceled with Geico because their driver "had to go out of the service area." WTF. You tell me this after an HOUR? Geico had no record of the cancellation. A&J Towing came to our rescue after we lost our keys to the rental car company somewhere along the Hermosa beach boardwalk, and our second set of keys was in the car. The rental car company called AAA and we waited over an hour. We called the rental car company back and they said AAA said they didn't locate us, so they left. We were standing there the whole time. The second call to AAA was over 45 minute waiting and we called AAA and they claimed we were not in the system :( for a service. I then called 2 other LA towing companies and they were over an hour away. One place hung up on me stating they didn't come to Hermosa beach, try Redondo beach. I called A&J Towing, the dispatcher was friendly, professional on the phone, and told us up front the fee to unlock the car. I received a call from George stating he'd be there in 20 minutes. It almost pulled off my front bumper. A driver tried to illegally impound my car from the lot I was parked in, which another tow truck company handles and the driver assaulted me and tried to get in my vehicle to stop me from driving off. Made a police report but was told without the plates or description (I did give a description; some 40 year old 6ft chubby Latino guy) they couldn't do anything. I'm sure the company doesn't care cause the cops don't but stay away from this company, cause that same guy who assaulted told me he was going to take my car eventually, a car that I own and paid off years ago and have no problems with. I was a paying customer at that lot and to get assaulted, threatened and basically blackmailed because I didn't let him steal my car is such an insane thing that happened. He tried his hardest to keep me from taking pictures too and wasn't able to get the plates but I found out the company name. Stay away from this company. read more

To the rescue! I'm bummed that I didn't remember the drivers name because dude needs a raise - he was exactly on time with the ETA that I got, super efficient & was great with my car. I booked it via my Geico roadside assistance so everything went through the app, but he picked us up off of Western Ave in San Pedro after our classic VW Bug broke down on superbowl Sunday. I'm no stranger to being towed and I've had some wacky experiences, but this guy was super friendly and efficient. I've encountered some other operators who don't know that they need to disengage the parking brake when a standard transmission is in neutral, but he managed my super quirky car all on his own which is impressive in its own right. He had it up on the truck in no time & then gave us both a ride since it was after hours and we were dropping it off at home. I really appreciated that he turned the heat up in the cab for us too since it was starting to get cold out. I didn't have any cash for a tip, but I promised to write a Yelp review as a thank-you. This guy managed to park my little car *on a hill* (ok, it was somewhat flat where he parked it, but still) and got it *exactly* out of the red zone where I'd be able to see it from my front window. What a superhero. My only complaint was that the text message that came through with the ETA came broken up into two messages, and the link was broken up across those messages. It took a little copy paste on my end to get it figured out so ultimately not a problem for me, but it might be a bummer for someone who isn't very tech savvy. That's a technical bug though and not a reflection on the service at all. Still highly recommend. read more
