A&L Automotive came to my rescue while on an out of town trip last fall and I'm very grateful. It was a Saturday morning. Friend and I were driving to breakfast when all of a sudden my dashboard lit up and my car stopped working! We coasted into the nearby restaurant where we were headed thankfully. We got out and did the obvious - look under the hood for fluid leaks, smoke, etc... but nothing for the plain eye to see. I went to Yelp to see if there were any services near that could help and that is when I found this shop. I called A&L, told them what happened and they kept it real with me basically saying they didn't know what it could be either, but they could fit me in that morning to take a look. I decided to have the car towed versus trying to drive it and possibly damage it further. I asked if they knew any tow companies and they gave me info for a local company they do business with (that was also excellent btw!). Once my car arrived at A&L they let me know they were close to finishing up another vehicle and would look into mine after they were done. They have a very small waiting area which is set up nicely with a couch, tv with all entertainment you could want and a vending machine. It really is only big enough for a couple people. When it was my turn, they looked at the car while I chilled in the waiting area de-stressing watching tv. They came back, explained the problem, quoted me a price and let me know they could fix it that same morning while I waited! WOW! They did have to send someone for the part. The pricing also seemed very reasonable. I accepted. (Note I later discussed what happened with my existing local trusted mechanic and he confirmed their pricing was AMAZING as was the fact they were able to help so quickly. As a non-mechanical person there is a lot of trust that goes here). They had my problem diagnosed, resolved and paid for all in a few hours. I was very impressed! My friend even stated this was a blessing as many shops have waiting lists right now for basic items. Summary - USE this shop! Take your car here! They are trustworthy, efficient, affordable and no bs. They do what they say they can do and they are upfront about now being able to diagnose without seeing the vehicle. read more

Had a noise on the front end of my truck. Took it into to A&L, they looked it over and gave it a 15 minute run. Turned out a tire issue. Let me start this review off with a simple statement for those who don't like to read a lengthy review: I HIGHLY RECOMMEND A&L AUTOMOTIVE! Based on the recommendation of a friend, I brought my Nissan into A&L Automotive to get my air conditioning belt checked out. It was squeaking something fierce and I was told by that friend that he said it would take A&L's expertise to figure out the problem. He also estimated that the part I might need to replace was $350 alone. I brought my car in and was greeted by Larry, the owner of A&L. He took a look at my car promptly, and explained what would most likely need to be done. It was either going to cost approximately $1000 for the part and the labor, but he hoped that he might be able to replace a belt and the cost would be closer to $200. He mentioned that it might be better for me to come back the following morning so I could have the use of my car because they were pretty busy that day. He said he would arrange for a ride for me to get home as well. I arrived the next morning, dropped off my vehicle, and met the 'A' in A&L Automotive: Larry's wife Amanda. Amanda was as kind and friendly as Larry, and drove me 20 minutes across Branson to my home. The next morning, Amanda called to let me know the car was finished. When I asked for the bill, she transferred me to Larry. He asked if I was aware that I needed an oil change and filter, and I said YES! I forgot to ask if you can do it. He said he would get it done, and that Amanda would be there to pick us up within an hour or so (my wife came with me so we could run errands afterwards). Amanda arrived as promised, and gave us another friendly ride back to A&L. Larry greeted us there, explained and showed that the problem was fixed, reset the oil change counter, and sent us to the front to take care of the bill. The total for the replacement belt, labor, oil change and filter: only $142.59! I tried to add another $20 for the ride and Amanda told me 'no way, that's just how we do it here!' The owner talked to us about our concerns, asked to keep our truck over night to cold start it the next morning. Our truck stalled again. We received a call that they identified the problem, needed to order the part, and it would be ready in 2-3 hours. Like many, I found myself with an immediate car problem on vacation in Branson. I knew I needed my alternator replaced. Because of the good reviews, I took a chance and called this place. They were able to immediately take my car in and put in my new alternator (that I brought to them). I was thankful for their cool office with a comfy couch and some candy to keep myself and my 20 month old occupied for nearly 2 hours. They were so nice! I'm a student here in Branson and one of the new things I was trying to find, next to good food was a trustable auto shop, A&L had me a bit skeptical but I can easily give them these three compliments, they're honest, efficient, and know what they are doing. There's no hassle for extra money for things that arnt broken, and there is real world knowledge on cars not just basic text book information. The staff are kind and easy to work with and the wait times have never been a problem in my experience, normally I dread spending money for my car but I am always glad to know it goes to these guys paychecks when I do. The only complaint I can make is the waiting room is small and with COVID should only really have two customers in it at a time. read more

While vacationing in Branson, my vintage Ford Fusion V6 developed a miss and the "check engine" light came on. I went to Yelp and found an automotive repair shop (A & L Automotive) with twelve reviews, all of them 5.0, some from visitors like myself. It was late evening, so I had my car towed there and phoned A & L the next morning. The diagnosis was a miss on the #5 cylinder, caused by a failed fuel injector. Work on odd-numbered cylinders of V6 engines requires a lot of labor, but the estimated cost was so reasonable that I asked them to change the spark plugs, as well, since most of the labor cost would be covered by the injector replacement. A & L did all this work quickly, at a very reasonable price, and they were some of the nicest people you will meet anywhere. In addition, they gave a nationwide, 24-month, 24,000 mile warranty on their work. I neglected to mention that the tow truck driver also recommended A & L Automotive. read more

I had an issue come out of no where on my Ram 2500. Checked YELP and found A&L Automotive. I called the day before and showed up the next morning. Larry checked the diagnostics called me over and showed me the issue, bad sensor and wheel bearing. We checked pricing and it was fixed later that day. I am a Hurricane Micheal Victim and traveled up here to get away from the Desaster in the Panhandle. I have had much tragedy happen and on top of it all my wheel bearings went out on my car after long travel. I red the kind review on this establishment and I liked what I red so I gave them a call. The owner was extremely nice and so very helpful of getting me the best deal on the parts and fit me in within 48 hrs, I also had new headlights installed which my husband was able to ship directly to this shop. I had a few other things repaired and the service was above Stella. The owner even brought me back to my condo and was willing to pick me back up. But I ended up walking since I needed the air and it was only 2 miles away. My total bill was surprisingly low so I was able to leave somewhat of a tip which was well deserved. I had the pleasure of meeting his mother and she asked me about the storm we went through and we ended up all in tears as tragedy truely struck me, my husband and my fur babies .... This was a wonderful experience both business and private. I highly recommend this establishment because it's family owned and they treat you like family ...
