I know there are a few locations of A&W in northern California so I was surprised to see one in Vancouver, ok ok no judging but I wasn't in town long and wanted to try the famous Canadian POUTINE, Yelp, Google and Trip Advisor kept saying A&W had decent poutine and plus every other restaurant we tried were quite bougie, steak and seafood houses soo yeah, poutine at these places were a no. Nonetheless, it was the last night in Vancouver and after a nice buzz from our happy hour at Granville Island, it was time for dinner. Honestly, we were probably drunk at this point but I have to say the customer service was great, told them it was my first time they probably didn't care but the food came out hot and delish, shared a burger and poutine w the partner! The burger tasted like any other in the U.S more on the Burger King side and the poutine was bit salty but overall, we were very happy we gave them a try. Outdoor patio, dog friendly!

I could give my visit 3 1/2 stars if it weren't for one detraction which I'll detail below. I've been to this A&W a few times but not in the last 2+ years because of Covid. With my insomnia I went and had an early breakfast and have to say it was all right. The All Canadian breakfast is always good and this one was enjoyable. There wasn't enough butter on my toast and it got kind of cold pretty quick but I'm not sure there's really anything that can be done about that. I was the only person there at 5 o'clock in the morning and the two young ladies were both great. It's as clean as an A&W can be and I did notice the ladies cleaning the tables, and in fact sweeping the patio area outside as well. The one big drawback I noted is the HVAC. It is so loud in there I swear it must be an Occupational Health and Safety hazard. I don't know if A&W has a union but the health and safety guy needs to be called in for that thing. Holy smokes I couldn't even hear the young lady talking to me when I was making my order. Otherwise, good.

I understand it is boring when there's no customer in the early morning, but this is a bit too much. Two girls were sitting on the floor and not washing hands prior back to work. Will never visit again.

Ridiculous customer service. went there again in a hope to be a better breakfast. Staff seems not be attentive, always on phones. Never seen their manager in the morning.

No root beer floats! So disappointed, as that was the prime reason for choosing A& W. Left without ordering anything.

This is the best run and cleanest of the ones I've seen in Vancouver. Refreshing to see an owner actually give a damn.

I ordered the mushroom smash and upgraded to tater tots, and you get a choice of "flavour" for tater tots - I chose all dressed. The all-dressed flavour did not really come out very much so i just dipped it in the provided ketchup. When it first came out, there was a mixup in my order and it came out with plain fries - they were quick to fix their error and there was a generous portion of tater tots for the $6 upgrade fee. I'm not usually a fan of smash burgers but I have to say this one was cheesy and flavourful and I would get it again!

Solid reviews on Yelp had us on the way. What a great little spot! There used to be so many diners of this style, it's a shame so many are no longer there for us to enjoy a simpler time. It's 100% diner right down to the mini juke boxes in each booth to the red and chrome bar stools. Even found an old Kellogg's individual cereal box display like one we had in my parents diner in Ontario, that was very cool! The service was spot on with our two servers working in unison to get waters, tea, orders, delivering food, cleaning up like a well oiled team. They even have old fashioned milk shakes and an Hamilton Beach machine to blend them up. WOW, nostalgia. The food came out quickly and was cooked exactly as we asked, and it was plentiful and a solid breakfast for the price. My potatoes were a little greasy, to me, but everything else was perfect. The bacon, three slices, of good quality and perfectly crispy as ordered. We will most certainly return to The Templeton when downtown again. Our hotel close by, not so much, but this little gem, unquestionably!

There is a speakeasy called The Stock Room in the back of Hundy where one can enjoy cocktails and burgers together. After going to a local sporting event and looking for a late night bite to eat, we decided to come give them a try. The interior is quite minimalist, and the menu is simple. My husband wanted to try their bacon cheeseburger while I ordered a classic cheeseburger. We ordered one set of classic french fries and one set of poutine fries. While they were preparing our food, we made our way down the long hallway to the back where the speakeasy was located. We just wanted to peek our heads in, but didn't stay for a drink. The cool thing about Hundy is that the speakeasy will serve their food while apparently also serving up some tasty cocktails. But back to Hundy and the food. The cheeseburger was absolutely delicious and the french fries were cooked to crispy golden perfection. As for the poutine, it was some of the best that we had on our trip. So speakeasy aside, if you're looking for a good burger in Vancouver, I would definitely come check out Hundy.
