I guess I might like their food if i had it for breakfast and lunch. But then again, there arent really much food options in YVR international Airport. I definitely didnt want to have subway or starbucks which is around every corner back home. And i didnt really want to eat at a bar in the morning. A lot of places were closed. So A&W 2x it is. I had their bacon and egg sandwich and root beer float for breakast. Hey don't judge, ok? I love root beer floats. But though the flavor was great, the paper straw wouldn't allow me to mix the ice cream, so I was left with a big glob of ice cream at the bottom which I couldn't eat with my mangled paper straw at this point. Sandwich was decent. Sorry, I woofed breakfast down too much, I didn't get a chance to take pictures. Round 2 is the teen Sandwich which is grass fed beef burger with cheese and bacon. Though it's good, I think I should have tried the mozza burger instead which uses, you guessed it, mozzarella instead of cheddar. I tried the root beer float which unfortunately didn't mix just like my breakfast one. But I let it sit longer so I think maybe half actually joined my rootbeer. Yummy. So why only 3 stars. 2 of the workers came in a little late so they didn't open at 7:30 am as they were supposed to. The menu board wasn't working so you don't know what they were offering and how much. Eventually, they found a picture card of what they can give you. But there were no prices, descriptions, or details if there were combos or value meals or such. Thats why I didn't see the mozza burger till it was too late. I also found my almost $10 breakfast a bit expensive. My lunch at under $12 was slightly better value. read more

Exceptoona customer service, since I come here daily I have met Daljeet, Amritveer and Shival, warm natured and frienly people, they almost remember what I order now, I just go there and pay lol. Tried this since it was one of the only food spots open at the airport that wasn't available in the US. While waiting for our flight back to JFK, we got burgers, poutine, and a breakfast sandwich. Everything was surprisingly not salty. I had never tried A&W before. Besides for the airport prices, and long line, everything else about the experience was good. read more

It's here...it has burgers and fries (International Terminal) On a trip EWR-YVR-BNE I found myself in the International Terminal late at night feeling peckish and trying to stay awake. I thought I would try A&W. The good - the fries. Actually quite yummy and served hot. The average - the burger. Not the burger I ordered (a Buddy instead of a Bistro Buddy) but not better nor worse than the typical fast food burger. The bad - I know I'm American...but no unsweetened iced tea? And how can you serve root beer without ice? (unless it's in an ice cold frosty glass mug...but they didn't have those at this A&W location either). The All Canadian breakfast is a dollar more than the one in Pearson and they serve it on a cardboard plate and with plastic utensils versus a real plate and real utensils in Toronto. Actually that really doesn't bother me at all, just saying. What I find hilarious is the same menu is in French on the left but the prices are higher on the French menu than on the English menu on the right. This is still a decent and affordable place to eat for the money and it's before security. read more

Friendly service. They serve all their food, all day, so if you want lunch/dinner during breakfast, just ask! YVR Poutine Crawl: Like any hokey tourist, we love to try local foods no matter how stereotypical they might be. While poutine, I believe, is more of an eastern/Montreal specialty, I'm not going to pass up gravy, fries, and cheese curds. Since our layover was from 1am to noon, we were limited in our chance to explore beyond our hotel and thus the YVR Poutine Crawl was born. Here are our rankings: 1. Canucks Bar & Grill (USA terminal/AFTER security): Above and beyond the best we had, but we figured this would be the case. They offer a classic poutine, and a version with mushrooms and bacon. We got the latter and thought the mushrooms were chewy, but the bacon was a good addition. The only bummer with this was that Canucks Bar & Grill had surly staff and they seated us RIGHT in front of constantly buzzing kitchen door despite tons of other seating. They have no Canadian beers on tap, but a bunch in bottles. 2. A&W (National terminal/BEFORE security). This was our first taste and I actually really liked it. The cheese curds were squeaky and not too melty, the gravy was good and plentiful, but the fries were a tad soggy. I thought I would like soggy fries better, but crispy actually taste better! 3. Burger King (USA terminal/AFTER security) The cheese curds were melted and the stringy gooey mess was delcious, but a pain in the rear to eat. We basically needed to use our hands to pull it apart. The crispy fries were a bonus. They do technically offer bacon for $1, but they were out. Honorable mention: White Spot (National terminal/BEFORE security): They serve poutine, but only once breakfast is over at 11am. **Note: It is VERY easy to walk between the National/USA/International terminals. The YVR airport is wonderful with tons of shops, but quite small overall. read more

Very bad custom service, not friendly and no smile at all. The person who handle foods didn't wear gloves. I asked the cashier , " isn't he suppose to ware gloves?" she replied very rudely " we already washes our hands." then she walked away. Also their uniforms very untidy. read more

This location is at the domestic terminal food court. In my opinion, A&W is better than MacD. And this location makes good onion rings. What more can one ask for? read more

When your on your way to your new Vacation, you can't help it, your starving to death, its 6am or some crazy hour, and the only thing open in A&W. So you grab a combo - McMuffiny thing, Potato Stick, and a Coffee for $5. Sure its crap, but who cares, I've done it a few times, and really there is not much to say about it. Ah... I REALLY wanted to try poutine before leaving Canada, so I did a quick search and saw that A&W sold it. Soooo... Off I went from international to domestic terminal just to buy this. Man was it a let down. It was basically super soggy fries covered in way too much and way too salty gravy, with cheese that just tasted straight up like mozzarella. If I had known that this is what I would be getting, I would've just saved the calories for a chili cheese fries or carne asada fries back in the states. Oh well... read more

I made the mistake of eating here before my best friend and I went to Europe. I convinced the border patrol peeps to let me to into Domestic after crossing 'cause I had a craving for onion rings (I had to go through the process to cross again including putting my onion rings in the X-ray). I made a huge mistake to do this 'cause not only were my rings under cooked, they were cold and there were grease clumps. Nothing else was open at the time other than Starbucks. The people working there had to take my order 3 times 'cause there was clearly a language barrier for something as simple as onion rings. read more
