    Double slap

Popped into Cheese Slap right after a prog rock concert at the Vogue -- literally just crossed the street! Food was delicious. I got the Philly cheesesteak and it was oozing cheesy goodness everywhere -- so messy but SO worth it. I struggled to eat it properly though and really wish they had cut it in half! Also tried the Double Slap -- perfect and super filling. Service was way too slow though, and there's very limited seating. Only one washroom too, which can get tricky when it's busy. Worth it for the food, but don't come starving or in a rush!

Wonderfully tasty food, incredible service, and casual ambiance! We got some double slap smash burgers, tandoori chicken burgers, fries, and a BBQ chicken pizza. The smash burgers were some of the best we've had anywhere! The patties were surprisingly large for a smash burger and we liked the veggies to brighten it up. Tandoori chicken burger was vibrant, flavorsome, and texturally diverse. And speaking of textures, the sesame seeds on the BBQ chicken pizza crust was a welcome surprise! Would highly recommend all around. Plus it was made by someone who was very passionate about the food!

Stumbled across this place right on Granville, and it was so good?! It definitely SLAPPED. Double Slap Smash Burger ($13.99): Nicely smashed double patty with melty cheese on a soft bun. Comes with some tomatoes, lettuce and pickles too. Yum! Thin fries were just ok, tossed in black pepper - I appreciate the extra effort. OG Philly Cheesesteak ($15.99): Honestly super impressed with the portions, the meat and cheese were literally overflowing from the bun, the basket was the only thing keeping it in check. Saucy too. Comes with grilled onions, green peppers & provolone cheese. So much meat I had to take it to go. Super worth it, and very delicious. Hot sauce, ketchup and ranch bottles near the cash register - self-serve. There's only 3 tables (seats 4/table), so it fills up quick. Circulation is pretty bad and gets very stuffy, and it's sort of an open kitchen/diner vibe so you can see the grill and the staff making your order. Wish they would add some coleslaw or salad as side options, as the whole meal was definitely super greasy, ultra meaty and filling. Definitely hits the spot if that's EXACTLY what you're looking for though. Reasonably priced as well. I also saw pizza on display, but they looked..alright. 10/10 would recommend this place for smash burgers and cheesesteaks!

Fast-food joint with amazing slam burgers! Fresh and made with love. Service was fantastic but be warned seating is limited. No frills and clean interior. I will be back!

Literally one of the best places I've tried here so far. It's halal and delicious as well! The fries gone wild is a must get on the menu. The smash burgers are very well seasoned and tasty and their prices are reasonable!

Yummy food, nice little shop, pretty clean, not much seating though. There wasn't much traffic though so seating was not a problem. The guys working were nice. The Philly I got was super stuffed so I had to eat some with a fork before I attempted to pick it up.

OMG, that double slap smash burger WAS worth every calorie. Tandoori chicken sandwich and Philly cheesesteak was also off the hook.

I was outvoted and dragged here kicking and screaming. Then they promised I could order "The Gaucho…read moreCowboy". Now I'm intrigued. Have to go. This could be the greatest staff in all of Southern BC. Patient, kind, humorous. Not only can they explain the different items and their ingredients, they can describe exactly how it all tastes. To which they are 100% accurate! The six of us played community food, but what's the point here? All the poutine was awesome. Oh well, it's fun to share. Yes, get The Gaucho "Cowboy", but also try the Butter Chicken, Vegetarian Chili and my favourite, the Le Montreal. ALL the poutines rocked! The burgers are juicy and full of flavour. This group has found a way to marry all the flavours so they complement each other all through the meal until the end. Portion size was another crazy, happy surprise. So much so that the cost no longer matters (as you may have guessed, the cost was reasonable). Still, if it's just a couple of you, you might go regular as opposed to jumbo...unless you're thinking late night leftovers. We pigged-out and didn't get a chance to reheat this food. Mistake on my part. 05/25
