Apparently the manager needs to get some hearing aides because saying your name he can't hear until you yell at him, employees bark at customers because of any issues with their manager and the manager allows it. The food here is very good. Better than most here in Wheatland. The only thing i don't like are the prices. They are as high as a sit down restaurant. For one of their double burgers with a fry and malt it cost me 18.01 even with a coupon. I can get a nice healthy 12" sub at Subway for less than half of that. So here is an A&W That does not serve draught A&W In the standard frosty mug. This is despite the fact that there are multiple signs throughout the store that say "made fresh in store with a real cane sugar". So when I ordered my route beer what I got was a paper cup and root beer out of the Pepsi machine in the lobby. Total disappointment - even the root beer from the Pepsi machine was not mixed properly and it tasted terrible. You would think that if they were to get one thing right - this would be it. It would've been better if they had just given me a can of root beer. Also this place is dirty and there are flies all over the place - seems like customer said this a year ago and they've done nothing to correct it. read more

A&W recently expanded to include their Chester Fried Chicken, which I view as somewhat of a mixed blessing. I am a big fan of A&W, but less so of fried chicken, so when they had to take away some of the A&W options for the new Chester's, I was a bit disappointed. That being said, if you're looking for fried chicken, I believe that this is the only place in town to find any. For fast food on the go, A&W's food is okay. Their burgers are all right, and their fries are pretty good. There are a few burgers that I like more than others (I really like their Mushroom and Swiss burger), so don't be discouraged if one isn't that great. However, by far the best part of eating at A&W is the on tap root beer. It's fresh, crisp, and refreshing. They even used to serve it in a glass mug, but they might have discontinued the practice due to theft. read more

What ever they are doing they should stop and listen to the locals who apperantley are not coming here anymore. We waited 15 minutes for our food and then took one bite once we were in the car and it was so bad we threw it away at the first gas station we stopped at. We eat at the A&W in Rapid City all the time and their menu was way different. Anyway my family and I all ordered the mushroom burger. One of the grosser experiences that I've had, and with a ridiculous wait. We waited nearly 15 minutes for sub-par fast food, along with a line of other similarly unhappy people. Our kids' meal was missing its toy, the staff were not friendly or at all apologetic, and--perhaps worst of all--only one of four employees I saw wore gloves, even while assembling sandwiches. The one person wearing gloves was handling coins for the register, which is a serious food safety problem. And there were flies everywhere. Worst experience I have EVER had in a restaurant. I watched the two older female managers scream at employees. Belittling them, insulting them right in front of me and a restaurant full of customers. No wonder they have new staff everytime we go in! The redhead girl at the counter kept her composure and smile despite the breating of the managers to her. When I said something to the manager about it being wrong, she again screamed at the employee!
