I'm not sure if our meals sat before they were served, but both enchilada plates had barely any sauce and everything seemed dry. The flautas were soggy/oily in the center and everything needed salt. Food is wonderful for a person who doesn't want too much spice. My meals are always just right. If you want spicy you surely can get it. A very Mexican decor with murals to view while you waiting, which never is very long. Staff is friendly and accommodating. read more

I wish I could give half stars, I'd give 2.5 because this place was just meh. I got snowed in and had to eat here 2 days in a row. Let me start with the good: They start you off with not just salsa, but also bean dip - kind of a bonus. The server both days was awesome. The food portions are large. That's about where it ends. The not great: I order 3 enchiladas the first day and it was just ok. Nothing about it made me want it again, but it wasn't bad. My second day, I ordered an appetizer and it came after my meal was delivered and quite possibly only because I asked about it- additionally it was burnt from either being forgotten or the oil was too hot. I ordered chilaquiles (hard to find and one of my favorites). I asked to have chicken added and was charged $10 for the chicken. That's almost the cost of the entire entree- so I paid almost double to get some chicken with it (found out only when I got the check). The chilaquiles typically have egg (scrambled). This version had 2 over medium eggs placed over the top. I don't like eggs and forgot to asked not to have it, so this made it easier to remove. I only mention it because if you're like me and expected it to be similar to what you may have gotten elsewhere, heads up. The bar area has a TouchTunes music jukebox. Don't bother paying to play it - I did. They have their external Spanish music blasting over anything you've paid for. It was like listening to 2 radio stations at the same time. I probably could have asked them to turn theirs off, but it's impossible to not notice I shouldn't have had to. The portions and service are the best thing about this place. I most likely won't be back, but maybe you'll find a menu item you like and have a better experience. read more

This is the only place we could find open on a Sunday night. Dinner was delicious but the server got our daughters dinner wrong so she had to wait a while after we got our food. Her enchiladas didn't have any sauce, not sure if that's normal. We ordered dessert and server didn't understand "churros" which was odd. We got our dessert which was not good. Husband had cheesecake which was still frozen, I had choco flan which tasted like nothing. Our daughter had churros which took an additional 15 minutes and was so hot in the center, burnt our mouths. They did feel bad for the troubles, I didn't complain or anything but they gave us a discount which was generous. Would I go back? Probably if we are in town again but at least we have a better idea of what to expect. read more

Just a couple minutes from the I-25 exit in Wheatland, Guadalajara was the Google Maps recommendation for Mexican food on the way to Casper. The food was unfortunately pretty bland despite looking very cheesy. Prices seemed fair until we tried the food, but at least service was quick and more or less friendly. The beef burrito lacked flavor, while the chicken tacos were downright bad. The several hot sauce options helped a little, but not enough to elevate the food far beyond edibility. Even if we found ourselves in this area again, we would probably choose Taco Bell over a repeat visit to Guadalajara. read more

If you are familiar with the Guadalajara/Tres Margaritas franchise then you'll even know the menu. Located Right next to the interstate, but not right next to an exit, this is one of two places I'd recommend if having lunch or dinner in Wheatland. I've been here 6/7 times over the last twenty years and have yet to have anything but a great meal and friendly service. The menu is the same as Fort Collins, Cheyenne, Casper, and Sheridan. The salsa has the same flavor as Casper, but has bigger chunks of onion and cilantro vs. Casper that I found delicious. Sadly they stayed with the very plain refried beans vs. the cheesy ones Casper has with the chips. Service was small town slow which I didn't necessarily appreciate on this visit as an interstate traveler passing though, but it all worked out ok. I've had a little of everything here over my visits, but choose to go with the Carne Asada lunch today so I had a high energy/low grease and cheese dish. It hit the spot. Perfectly cooked medium skirt steak with a couple of charred green onions, a small side of pico de Gallo, rice(dry), beans(very plain and over cheesed), and a grilled jalapeño. Also came with your choice of flour or corn tortillas. Was Excited for the jalapeño as they don't come on the same Casper dish, but dang, as a guy who likes habanero tacos I felt like a fool after taking a big bite into the end of that pepper. It made my entire scalp sweat and my hair as well. Tamales, tacos, enchiladas, as well as the crispy chili relleno's have always been good here as well. Can't speak to their bar drinks as always driving through, and always the driver so haven't had the chance to indulge. Overall the restaurant is clean, no where near modern, but with a rustic charm. A good place to have a meal and skip the 5 fast good places in town. read more

I must have had an off day at this place. Walking in there was no host(ess) to seat us right away. Not a big deal though. We sat down soon after at a booth and gave our drink orders while welcomed with chips, salsa, and a warm bean dip (essentially refried beans in a bowl). Salsa is very tomato based with little to no chili to make it hot. Think extra mild. The chips kept us occupied while we scanned the very large menu and waited about 10 minutes for water and our drinks. Staff was very friendly though. After finally ordering, we both got the same dish, burrito loco. Another 10 minutes later our waiter asked my coworker what he had ordered, because something messed up. We both looked at him and were like the same thing as me. A burrito loco with chicken. About an hour after arriving we finally got our food. We noticed a lot of people not getting food right away so at least we were not the only ones. I think our waiter was definitely on something. He seemed slow to respond and very forgetful. Holding a conversation for saying a simple statement seemed difficult. Food was adequate. Was hot and had some flavor. Atmosphere was nice, but I think I'll go back and try the other small Mexican joint in Wheatland. read more

I read the earlier reviews - here's what I can tell you... This place is EXCELLENT. I'm from the NY metro region - as a result, I KNOW good food. I can tell you they "get" it. I had a fajita-chicken chimichanga with a REAL sangria. The sangria is much like they prepare in NYC and the chimichanga was light, fluffy, loaded with veggies and meat and of course topped with sour cream and guacamole. As to slow service, which was the nature of several complaints. Wheatland is a small town. I observed a waiter handling a table of 13 - many of whom ordered mixed drinks and he took time to prepare each drink before delivering. He did not have the luxury of a bar tender to make his drinks for him - or even to help. So... if that's what it takes, more power to them! As for me, I WILL be back. read more

Stopped in our RV on way to Custer. Ordered off lunch menu. Hubby had combo of taco ,shredded beef, and cheese enchilada and I had shredded beef avocado tostada. Both came with beans and rice. Each $7 and delicious. Because of covid we ordered takeout and ate in our Rv. When hubby went to pay and pickup the restaurant was not very full yet. A gentleman told my husband that they didn't have any Covid worries. No masks required. Servers were not wearing masks. We would stop here again. read more

I arrived at 11:35 for what needed to be a quick lunch. I asked for a booth and was seated at the first booth near the entrance. 3 minutes later a small group 3-4 people came in and were seated. A busboy brought me some chips and salsa. I asked. To order a meal he said to wait for waitress. Waitress brings a water and takes order from group that came in after me. The busboy comes back and then. Says he can take my order. No thank you I have been her now 15 minutes at a nearly empty restaurant. I need to get back to work, I offered to pay for the chips and salsa. He sent the waitress over now that she was done taking the other groups order and taken it in. I left. What a pleasant surprise! Stopped in Wheatland WY to buy a replacement headlight bulb. Just down the street was this restaurant. It has ample space to park a rig which was a major factor in stopping here. Had the Dos Amigos (shrimp, scallops, mushrooms, etc in a red sauce) with rice and beans. Excellent! The wait staff was also excellent. Their menu has page after page of wonderful looking and sounding meals. We'll definitely be back! read more

Usually it is slow or good if they are not to busy, but in the evenings we have waited for our food and tickets for hours. There aren't many dining options in the awesome town of Wheatland, WY so you'd think a restaurant would capitalize on the opportunity to be THE go to spot for locals and visitors. Guadalajara is not good Mexican food. The chips and salsa were average at best but hats off on the little molcajete of beans that they also serve with the chips. Anything canned isn't Mexican food. And tacos that are made from prepackaged taco shells are not tacos dorados. The only thing I enjoyed were the refried beans that were served with the chips. I don't even think the chicken was grilled it might have been frozen and thawed out in the microwave. All around a bad food experience away from hm. My first instinct was to stay away, but I reviewed the menu and thought I would give it a shot, but I should've went with my gut! Now my gut is ruined!!! Thanks for the prepackaged meal. read more

Very good local Mexican restaurant. My wife says she no longer believes Disney is the happiest place on earth. Our waiter / the manager on duty here was super. He was singing along with the music and he has a great voice. He was extremely cheerful. And attentive. He was keeping a running dialogue with everyone. The best part was when he was talking to the other staff. He would stop singing, focus entirely on them and what they were doing, make his suggestion or request, then return to his boisterous ways. What a great experience. Plan your next trip so you can stop here for lunch. It's not but a few minutes off either I-25 exit in Wheatland. read more

This is some of the best Mexican restaurant in town. Awesome and clean venue, friendly staff, and delicious food! We went with a party of 8 on a Saturday and only had a 5 minute wait, drinks were served quick, salsa and chips were always full on the table. Food came quickly, everyone loved their food, it was hot and fresh. Someone did get seafood and said it seemed a little old so maybe don't get seafood at a Mexican restaurant especially in such a small town in Wyoming haha. The margaritas were delicious we got a strawberry mango and it was devoured in a few minutes! Will definitely make this a place to go if we have family or friends visiting. read more
