Hired them to remove tree that fell on my roof. Their truck got stuck on my lawn and despite this, they attempted (10 times) to move back and forth in different directions, destroying the grass and creating deep ruts. I had to finally tell them to stop. Their attempt at remediation was to put them down some top soil and grass seed. No straw, not enough top soil, not enough care. Everything got washed away the next time it rained. The ruts remain and were bare until weeds grew in. I called them repeatedly to fix the lawn and they have ignored my phone calls and attempts to contact them online. I was quoted $2500 to fix the lawn. And I have filed a BBB complaint in the meantime. read more

After seeing this company trim an olive tree next door where they trimmed and shaped it very nicely, we asked them to do some work for us. Last year they trimmed our magnolia tree and did an excellent job of it. We also had a couple more projects for them, and we were okay with that work too. Last week I asked them back and wanted them to trim our mulberry trees. They were prompt in coming out for the estimate, and I explained that I just wanted the trees trimmed back and thinned somewhat to let light in. They asked about the canopy, and I told them I was okay with the trees being as tall as they were and that it wasn't necessary to top them. The next day they arrived as scheduled and started to work promptly. I was busy in the house and didn't watch them. Big mistake. Before I knew it, they were done and had chopped off the whole top of the tree and all the foliage. All that is left is the "skeleton" of the tree with about 7 leaves on it. I saw that and was quite upset. I called Juan (or was it Adolfo?) and told him I was unhappy. He came out and saw the finished job and noted that the guys got a little carried away. However he said that it'll grow back fast and that that severe cutting will be good for the tree. Mulberries do grow fast, but right now it totally changed the yard, and it'll be a while before it looks really good again. I also felt like he treated me condescendingly while telling me that I shouldn't be upset about it. I had my regular gardener and another tree guy look at it afterwards, and they agreed that the cutting was too severe. It just wasnt' what I had expected at all when I just asked for trimming to let in some light. I would say that if you hire this company, just make sure you are very specific about what you want - and watch them the whole time. read more

I had an appointment on a Monday and they showed up 6 hours late. I had to reschedule for the next day and they were 7 hours late. I let them prune my tree at that time and paid them with a check for $200. When I checked my bank account they had changed the check to $500 and somehow cashed it. What swindlers!! A&Y They have no knowledge how to reseed a lawn properly they totally destroyed my front lawn I paid them to regrade and reseed my front lawn what I got after 3 months of watering everyday is a lawn consisting of 80% CRABGRASS I now have the worse looking lawn in the neighborhood I contacted another company that has been in business for over 40 years and after seeing the mess A&Y made of my lawn they said the reason I have all this crabgrass is because they failed to put a pre emergent down after applying the new topsoil and they did not apply enough grass seed evenly they said any professional landscaper would know this is something that has to be done when I called A&Y and told them this their response was what is a pre emergent! I wasted several thousand dollars paying these idiots that don't have a clue as to what they are doing now I now have to pay a Reputable company to redo everything I would not hire A&Y to plant a flower in a flower pot that are hacks that made an abortion out of my lawn take my advice and do not use A&Y unless you want to throw your money away. P.S. When ADOLFO came out to give me the price in the beginning I asked him how long has his company A&Y been in business he told me 10 years, but when you go to their website it clearly states they been in business only 2 years. Gave me a price for a lawn cut for the 2021 season, then after a week of excuses as to why they could not cut it that day, was told my area is only covered on Thursdays, so I was told I was on the schedule, only to find out on Thursday that they never put me on the schedule, and now they are booked up and can't fit me, unless I pay a premium fee. Total scam for money, do not use, they will rip you off and not cut your lawn. read more
