I would give this place zero stars if I could. My 85-year old father loved this place, especially Dave (who has since retired) and had been anxious to return as soon as restrictions allowed. I made the mistake of letting him go alone, but should have gone to ensure his safety. This place is refusing to follow COVID-19 safety protocols. The barbers refuse to wear masks and refuse to establish social distancing measures. To add insult to injury, when my father came in wearing his mask he was lectured about the "hype" of this pandemic and the "overblown" and "unnecessary" precautions of the governor's executive order. Well, guys, you're entitled to your opinion, but you are not entitled to violate orders and expect to not be held accountable. My father won't be going back here, which they will likely say "big deal, only one regular customer," so the only real reason for this review is to warn others and encourage you to take your business elsewhere. read more

This is a real barbershop, I've been going to it for 13 years. I think everyone is very well trained, and has decades of experience. Personally I like Bill, because he has always cut my hair the best he can every time. Everyone does a great job. If you want a fancy place go to a salon somewhere, not my thing. read more

I walked in to inquire about getting my client, a disabled man, a haircut. The lady seemed really nice and said she'd be right back. When we back in there was a very angry looking man (short white hair) staring at us. I thought he yelled "no!" Like he was joking with us. I smiled and asked "no?" And he replied "I SAID HELLO!" Still angry looking and staring. "Can he get a cut?" I asked "What's he want done?" He said angrily. I grabbed my client and walked out. I can understand someone being unsure of a disabled person but this gentleman was downright rude to us. I was so embarrassed. The woman came out looking completely surprised that we left. read more

My barber had retired to the point that he was out more than in, so I tried to find another dependable one. After a couple of not so great haircuts, my running buddy of over 18 years suggested I go to Bill, his barber at A Barber Shop. Bill did a great job of fixing some major mistakes from another shop. Went for a haircut here and the owner/barber was not wearing a mask. I asked him if he was going to put a mask on and he said it was up to you. I replied not me I have one on are you going to put one on and he replied no. I told him I would be contacting the local and state health department and the barber board of licensing and he just laughed and said knock yourself out. I guess he doesn't care about the health of his customers or his own health. This is the kind of person that doesn't deserve to be treated if he catches the virus. read more

So this cut happened last week, I've had a lot of time to think about this because I don't like being a complainer. So here it is. Howard at this place did a really bang up job. I should of spoke up and said something when he raked my scalp like I owed him money, it actually hurt lol. Very rough handling and didn't take his time at all (nobody else was in there). Before the cut was over he said I should should get my eyebrows taken care of also, so I let him. And he proceeded to take all but about 5/16th of an inch of them. Dumbfounded, I chose to blindly believe this was normal as to not resort to a full blown fist fight as this was the energy I received during the cut. Howard.. It's sad to me that most younger folks nowadays go to the beauty school dropouts at Sport Clips (I'm only 29, for the record). These guys are experienced and do a great job. They have standards, they know what they're doing, and it shows. Don't trust your hair and your reputation to just anyone. Jef is the man. He won't do you wrong. read more
