Peter's staff was so nice and helpful. This venue is all inclusive and includes the DJ, food, flowers/center pieces, etc. We got married outside in the gazebo and it was just perfect. The sun faces the gazebo in the late afternoon/early evening, so it wasn't too cold, even though it was only 55 degrees outside! I would HIGHLY recommend this wedding venue (the capacity of guests is 110, so if you need a large place, Peter's family also owns a larger wedding venue - I think the name of it is Double D Ranch). Choosing this place for a Texas summer wedding is practically sabotage, and I'll tell you why. Picture this: the bride, groom, officiant, and wedding party forced to stand directly facing the blazing sun at 5pm (all to get the lake in the background). Guests are sitting in direct sunlight, melting, turning the ceremony into an unbearable endurance test. Everyone spends hours getting ready, wearing designer, only to have your blazer turn into a portable sauna, your undershirt is now marinated in your own sweat, and your deodorant taps out like "I wasn't built for this." If you think alcohol will make this better, think again! You can't of catch a buzz because it's so hot that any alcohol consumed immediately escapes through your pores. If you thought you'll just go inside for relief, you'd be wrong again! Expect the interior temperature of the building only marginally cooler than outside, maybe a toasty 90 degrees. Once the doors mercifully open to the building, there's a mad dash to the smallest bathroom in Texas--three tiny stalls and one pathetic sink to service a crowd of sweaty survivors. Mirror? Vanity space? Not here. Prepare to freshen up makeup elbow-to-elbow with strangers, in line, like you're waiting for a ride at Disneyland (minus any of the joy). After exiting the bathroom you'll see the long, hallway-like layout. This narrow layout ensures that anyone seated towards the back misses everything happening on the stage. Guests were left shouting conversations over deafening acoustics and cheap concrete flooring. The cramped table arrangement created constant traffic jams and awkward, uncomfortable pathways just to move around. Outside was equally dreadful. The ceremony area was poorly designed, with an embarrassingly short aisle that robbed the bride of a proper procession. Photography conditions were awful, marred by either glaring sunlight or the shadow of the building (no sunset views). The spider-webbed oak trees added to the unkempt appearance, signaling neglect and lack of care. Parking was another disaster, forcing guests to navigate through a rough, unpaved secondary lot, making an already unpleasant experience even worse. Finally, if you were hoping for some redeeming aesthetic charm, sorry. You'll find none in this ugly orange-brick box inconveniently located far from any decent bars or entertainment. Brides, unless your dress code includes swimsuits and flip-flops, pick literally anywhere else for your summer or early fall wedding. The Filter Building has successfully filtered out comfort, logic, and fun.

Very neat walkway from the parking lot to the ceremony location. Lit at night for an extra special touch. The staff were nice and came and picked us up when we got there and brought us to the front door. It had rained a good bit the day before, so it was pretty muddy, but my truck had no issues getting out of there. The sound was great, and the bartender was great. Bathrooms were clean. There is an amazing balcony over the indoor ballroom and to the outside. I didn't get to see inside of the bride and groom suites, but pictures on their website look nice.

Cassidy - the venue manager was above and beyond - starting with our first meeting and now even after the wedding she's kept in touch. She was always answering my texts - when I thought of a question throughout the wedding planning process. The day of the wedding Cassidy was available all day long at the venue. Not just available - checking in, wanting to help, making sure the bride and groom were taken care of. Cassidy along with her team were able to flip the venue (inside from ceremony to reception) SO quick and efficiently even with our centerpieces. The day was seamless and easy, I never heard of one mishap. Guests seem to love the venue as well - if they weren't dancing with the bride on the dance floor, they were sitting at their tables chatting with friends, outside playing cornhole with the groom, or exploring the grounds the venue. Cassidy worked incredibly well with our photographer, she would find her when we were taking pictures and tagged along to assist - holding the bride's bouquet, fixing positioning, little details. During all of this Cassidy was snapping pictures/videos on her phone for A Thousand Cedars content, which she shared with us. I'm so glad she did this because photography takes a little while to get back, but Cassidy had her pictures ready to send. This was so nice because we were too busy living in the moment and taking it all in. Now we have pictures to look back on. Cassidy is such a sweet, kind, funny person who made us extremely comfortable and excited. I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone. We are such a low maintenance couple who had no idea how to plan a wedding - Cassidy was there to help and made it perfect. A gorgeous venue with amazing staff. Please get married here, you won't regret it. Currently writing this review on our honeymoon - that should show you how passionately we feel about it. (Will add pictures once we get them back)
