My house was hit by a massive hail storm. All of my cars windshields were totally destroyed. I contacted other companies to come out and replace the windshields but they were booked out 10 days! I contacted A Better Windshield and they had an appointment for the same day and I grabbed it. I was a little concerned about their reviews here on Yelp, but I did find that they have a ton of positive reviews on Google. Here's what happened: They showed up right when they said they would, and they had both windshields on the cars in about 45 minutes. Company poorly installed the wrong windshield, did not reinstall rain sensor or perform any of the necessary calibrations, the tech smoked and left cig smell in garage and car, they came back 3 additional times to try and fix heavy wind noise, which never was resolved. After disputing with credit card company and getting a full refund, owner harassed me through text, and has filed a small claims court case to try and recover funds. Obviously a frivolous case on so many levels, but the owner has the right due to our judicial system. After getting a proper company to fix their damage, we uncovered lots of issues which will be presented to the judge. Look up A better Windshield on youTube for a video of the glass actually moving with a simple finger press because it was so poorly installed. Avoid at all costs. read more

Don't waste your time or money with these people. They installed my new windshield, and glued my rear view mirror pointing straight up. I'm 5 feet tall, couldn't see, and literally 18 hours after my windshield was replaced, I tried to adjust my mirror to take my kids to school, and the mirror SNAPPED OFF in my hands, taking chunks of the windshield with it. It's been weeks now and they refuse to fix it, saying I must have use excessive force??????? Absolutely not!!!! Ridiculous, they are a rip off and would take weeks to respond while they "waited to hear from the manufacturer about a warranty" while I drive with no mirror and a big crack in my window AGAIN!!!! I had my windshield replaced by A Better Windshield because they advertised OEM glass and because I had learned from experience working for a car/limo service that high quality glass lasts much longer. They replaced the glass on my 2004 Lincoln Town Car, and I now have the annoying sound of loud wind coming from the windshield when I drive at highway speeds. I had their technician come back out at least twice to try to fix the noise, but he was unable to return the car to normal. The technician kept putting me off for months when trying to schedule additional help, telling me he'd free some more time on his busy schedule but then failing to follow through, canceling repeatedly. Eventually, he tells me he's left the company, and the company now refuses to help at all saying my car is too old or that I should've known better that I'd have issues because it's a 2004 or that I've waited too long to contact them or any number of excuses, even after filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and providing timestamped evidence of the poor installation. A Better Windshield has also been very unprofessional in their interactions with me, telling me to check my "numerous voicemails" when I had received none and blocking my number because I called them twice in a week asking to receive a return call on this matter. read more

Some of the worst customer service I've ever had! A better windshield was supposed to come out today to fix my sons windshield which they installed. The trim is coming off because they must have done something wrong initially or it wouldn't be coming off now. The appointment was with an arrival window of between ten and eleven. I started calling them at about 10:50 to find out if they would be late because of the weather. Finally, at almost noon, they text me. They don't call me. They text me.! Here are some of his comments when I mentioned it would have been nice of they'd knocked on the door to let me know they couldn't do it today. "I'm sure he wishes you'd have placed it in the 2 car garage but the weather has made today impossible. When you were informed that there would be glued being used, we assumed you knew would that water and glue don't mix. This is why you are instructed not to car wash your vehicle for 24 hours after we did the work to begin with. Expecting a technician to sweep off your vehicle, ice scrape it and then hand dry in 8 degree weather seems not only cruel but completely disrespectful. I thought Common Sense would rule the day and people would just completely understand that glue and water don't mix. Most people understand this concept from elementary school. Elmer's glue and water were never a good companion. Feel free to take your business elsewhere. Have a good day." There were more disrespectful comments from this person as well. These are a few of the relevant ones. I informed them when I scheduled the appointment that we could move the car to the garage if needed. He didn't tell me that I should. I should have read the reviews first. Most of the bad reviews complained about the molding coming off. I had my windshield done at 11 on Tuesday. I Put the vehicle in the garage and didn't drive it until 3 pm on Thursday. The technician said to wait 24 hours to drive it and I waited 52 hours. I noticed one of the corners wasn't touching the side pieces, but didn't think anything about it, as they are the experts. While I was driving, the middle of the trim started to flap in the wind. As soon as I got home, I looked to see what it was, and the trim was two separate pieces at the bottom and both ends of each piece were coming away from the windshield. It was after hours, so I left a message with the company. I will follow up with my review as soon as I hear back from the company. read more

I had a really bad experience with A Better Windshield. The tech showed up for my first appointment about 30 minutes early. I was in a meeting and couldn't respond right away and the tech left before the appointment on the books was supposed to start. The second appointment went better. The windshield was replaced quickly and, I hope, properly. After the tech left, I discovered I was unable to use my remote starter. (With an aftermarket remote starter, a cord is usually run around the windshield and the antenna stuck above the review mirror.) I called the shop that installed the remote starter and was told that it was common to have the cord sliced when removing the windshield. When I emailed the owner of A Better Windshield he informed me that the tech didn't slice the cord and he had pictures to prove it. I asked to see the pictures, but he was unwilling to send them to me. After several unpleasant emails, the owner agreed to let me take in my vehicle to shop and pay the bill to repair the remote starter if the problem was caused by the tech. It turns out that the cord was sliced in 2 places. The shop fixed the damage caused by the tech and A Better Windshield did pay for it. I understand that mistakes happen when doing business, and ultimately my windshield was replaced and my remote starter was repaired. The worst part of this experience was interacting with the owner. His emails were argumentative and always placing the blame anywhere other than his business. read more

I could not have had a better experience than I did with this company. I received quotes from three different companies and this one was far better priced than the other companies in Colorado Springs. I was able to get an appointment 2 days later. The serviceman was incredibly kind, professional, right on time, and did an outstanding job. It was also 9 degrees outside and I was certain they would have to reschedule but they didn't. They happily showed up and replaced my windshield. So happy with their service and will always use them for any future windshield repair needs. read more

And they know what the Groupon value is. They increased the price by more than the value of the Groupon. That is SHADY customer service! The windshields on both of my cars got broken during the recent hailstorm. I took one of them to Springs Auto Glass and they did a terrible job. For my other car I decided to call A Better Windshield. They set up an appointment to come meet me at the visitors center at Fort Carson. The difference between this company and Springs Auto Glass is day and night. James did an amazing job and used very high quality materials compared to Springs Auto Glass. He was extremely professional. He was done within 20 minutes. I couldn't recommend this company more. 5 stars. read more

I needed a new windshield for our Honda Pilot and first got a quote from a dealer. It was pretty crazy high and I was a little hesitent when A Better Windshield's was so much lower but they did a great job and it was right in my driveway where I didn't have to drop off my car anywhere. I would absolutely NOT recommend doing business with A Better Windshield because of the experience we had with them through Living Social. Their Voucher is deceptive and a waste of money. We purchased two vouchers for $69 each. Each voucher was supposed to be worth $150 toward the price of a windshield. After we purchased the voucher we called the company to schedule the work. The individual on the phone went on to tell us that we would get a better price without the voucher than with. In essence they play a pricing game. The price is jacked up for 'voucher holders'. She even told us that we should get our money back from Living Social and just buy directly from them. Of course, she said "But don't tell Living Social I said that". We did try to get our money back from Living Social but it was past the one week mark so we had to get a credit. Now we have $138 tied up with Living Social. I did call back and talk to a manager at A Better Windshield. He was rude and unconcerned. He claimed that the pricing had to do with 'high and low' seasons. This is not true. We called to schedule the windshields within two weeks of buying the voucher. The bottom line: if you buy this voucher you are paying for this company's advertising and nothing more. In the future I will definitely read reviews about companies before doing business with them. This company already had several really bad reviews on Yelp. On Sept. 4, 2019 this business installed a windshield on our car. The entire installation from start to finish was about 12 minutes. We discovered the next day that the install may not have been done correctly and contacted the business. There was no molding replaced along the sides and top of the windshield. In addition, there were multiple scratches along the frame where the workers knife cut out the windshield. There was no primer touch up on these scratches, so we are positive they will rust. We were told by the business that the installation was done properly and they had pictures to document it. We asked to see the pictures, but the only problem is: There were no pictures taken by the installers. In my negative review on Google Maps, I mentioned that the replacement took less than 15 minutes. The owner's response: It took 30 minutes. My wife was home during the replacement, and the install time was definitely closer to 12 minutes. We are disappointed with the incomplete installation and the owners response including his two Pinocchios (1) Owners claim of viewing pictures that don't exist (2) 30 minute install time. Needed a new windshield on my Yukon Denali and the Groupon made the price seem pretty good, so I bought it. I called them to schedule an appointment and had to leave a message. They emailed me back after a day or two to schedule. We set an appointment for Monday at 9 a.m. and on the day of the appointment 9 o'clock bled over to 9:20 and no one had arrived. I left a voicemail and emailed and at about 9:40 got an email saying he was "on his way." He finally arrived at 10:00 and proceeded to replace the window (only took about 30 minutes.) As he was working, I looked on their invoice and saw at the bottom a paragraph that basically says, by paying you sign off on all liability for the workmanship and materials and if you pay with a credit card it's an additional 3% charge. The next time, I'll possibly pay a little more, but hopefully get someone who answers their phone, shows up on time and possibly stands behind their work. read more

ABW replaced a windshield on my vehicle and severely damaged all of the surrounding trim which they broke off entirely and then re-glued to hide the damage. I got another windshield crack a few weeks later and the damage was discovered. ABW refused to take responsibility for their sloppy work and were extremely aggressive and unprofessional - AVOID ENTIRELY and go with anyone else if you don't want hundreds of dollars in repair costs!!! read more

I also give this company less than one star! We scheduled to have a side window replaced. My son and I called several companies for quotes and we talked to the office staff at this company several times as well as emails and said we had a Gazzette coupon to use. She quoted both of us a very good price both on the phone and in emails so we scheduled an appointmeent. The tech was on time but didnt come to the door to say he was here, we happened to look out and he was already working on the window. In a few minutes he said he had something to show me. It seemed we needed a new regulator because the cord was broken off and that had to be ordered and would be another fifty or sixty dollars. I told him the window had been working fine before the glass was broken but he didnt see how that was possible since the regulator was broken! Hmmmm. I asked if the balance of the coupon could be used for the price of it and thats when he informed me there was no balance on the coupon since the price quoted was after the coupon was deducted! Neither my son nor I had been told that and he argued that he was sure we had.Excuse me? I called the office to explain the problem and she was positive she had explained this. Why then does both my son and I remember it differently? We even had an email stating this that was somehow missing from the account.She argued vehemently with me and when I said I did not want to argue about this when I knew I was right she said she didnt either and hung up on me So now, because we refused to pay for a new regulator and argued the fact of the price discrepency, we have a car window that is taped on by the tech and cannot be rolled up or down for the price of a window installation! Untrained install technician and very rude office staff. Performed a windshield install and did a poor job - leaky window, left install sticker on window, damaged trim. Go with another window repairer who does not have numerous 1-star reviews and BBB complaints. This company does not have an actual office you can go to complain, just a PO Box and a staff that (when they actually answer the phone) has every excuse in the book why they are not responsible for mistakes made during an install. Worse than 1 star. I scheduled a 3-5pm time slot on a Tues for "A Better Windshield" in Colorado Springs area to replace my windshield. I walked out of work at 2:15 and had a message from their installer: "I'm at your house and there is no-one here. Call to reschedule your missed appointment." I called their office at 2:20pm and told them their installer was saying I missed my appointment. But my appointment was for 3-5pm. They said they would call the installer. I called their office when I arrived home a little before 3 and they said the installer was on the south end of town and they'd have to reschedule my appointment. When I said "No you're not going to rechedule, it's 3pm, I'm here now and that's when my appointment was scheduled. I had to take off work to be here" The office worker (who knows? Maybe it was the boss) said, "If you're going to be unprofessional we'll refund your initial payment." I replied, "Me unprofessional? Fine I don't really want to deal with you any more." I WOULD FIND IT HARD TO RECOMMEND THE COLORADO SPRINGS 'A BETTER WINDSHIELD' TO ANYONE. Very unprofessional. Their product might be good but I don't know, I never got to find out. I like to shop with small family owned businesses. But in this case I think it may have had something to do with the problem. No wonder this was a Groupon. Horrible quality of work. Got my windshield replaced. While driving over the hoilday the top stripe seal started coming off. Obviously performed by an inexperienced worker. So i had no choice but to repair to try and repair it myself by glue. While driving it flew off. Called the company to see what they could do. Since this was there fault for failure to properly install a windshield. They said to call when i get back and they would come out and replace the stripe. As i waited from 10-11 my scheduled appt time. No body ever contacted me. Around 12:30. I finally called. They said someone did come out and since i glued it. They need to replace the whole window. And i would be charged for just the window $70. Thanks for letting me know someone even came by and thank for letting me know this issue 2 hours after. Don't use this company.
