My prima piatte was Corn Tagliatelle with Tuscan sausage, celery and almond pesto and lemon zest. My son had the Chick peas Strozzapreti pasta with cinnamon scented goat ricotta cream and chard from the estate. Again, both dishes were great. My cousin had Frantoiana soup and she raved about it. The best part of the meal was the Bistecca di Manzo, a grilled t-bone with hazelnuts and truffle, cooked rare to medium rare to perfection. For dessert, we had White chocolate cake served warm with fresh mint and a berry jam (Tortino Caldo di cioccolato bianco con marmellata di frutti di bosco). We shared 3 bottles of the house red wine produced on property (Lavandaia, Madre 2014 made with Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino grapes). It was delicious and worked well with every dish. The service was efficient and servers were always present, friendly and accommodating. We were seated in the upstairs with a group of about 15 and two tables of 2 and we never strained to have a conversation or to hear what others were saying. I am only commenting on our lunch, which was fantastic. This is a beautiful agritourism place in Vorno, outside of Lucca. They are only open on the weekend and you must make a reservation. Go for lunch when the weather is nice; sit outside and enjoy the amazing views, under the huge, brightly colored umbrellas, above the vineyards and below the hills. The food was wonderful, and not really all that expensive considering what a wonderful place it is. We decided to splurge, so we ordered a fancy appetizer, two pasta plates and second course along with drinks. Our bill came to about 55 euros - we could have eaten for far less had we wanted to. . Normally the only way to get here is by car. It's not too far to ride a bike to, but the roads are narrow and the cars drive very fast, so a bike isn't appealing. We solved that by riding our bikes on the path beside the aquaduct (Acquedotto Nottoloni) all the way to the end, and then made our way to Vorno mostly on back roads. We walked our bikes a bit on the main road to avoid riding in traffic. It worked fine. So if you go in the daytime, don't let not having a car keep you from making it to this really beautiful place. This is a beautiful place tucked back in a corner of the old town inside the walls. The outside area was cool and shaded for a lunch meal, and quiet and peaceful in the evening. The staff is helpful; we left wine choice to them and were not disappointed! The millefoglie melanzana raises eggplant to a whole new level. My adult daughter at home picks the mushrooms out of everything; here she devoured the tagliatelle con funghi with relish. It's rare for me to leave five star reviews, but All'Olivo earns it!

I've got a mixed experience with this place…read more Ordered two of their popular dishes - the traditional tordello (filled pasta with meat) and the truffle pasta. The tordello was nice. Full of flavour, quite unique, the skin texture was not too thin, not too thick. The truffle pasta was disappointing though. Nothing wrong with it, but at 25 euros, it was a pricey dish compared to what you can get elsewhere in Lucca. I get the feel that this place is popular due to its reputation. But its trying to charge high end prices (for example 3.50 euro cover charge, which is what most higher end places charge) but you're not really getting amazing dishes consistently. I'd suggest just walking by and looking through the window where you can see how the tordello is home-made. Then head elsewhere (eg Ristorante Giglio was amazing) for food.
