Amazing Italian place in Luca, Italy! Seafood, pasta, all just outstanding. We told them to bring us whatever they wanted for starters. Great decision! Octopus, calamari, sardines, eggplant, artichoke crepes - I'm not sure what else, but it was fantastic. Next up, the gnocchi salsiccia broccoletti, and maccheroni Trabaccolata were so wonderful (the waiter had to type those in)! We then went dessert without ever having a main course. No room left! So semifredo al croccante as well as cheesecake con frutti di bosco (you're going to have to Google these)! In conclusion, you don't even need to look at the menu - just let them feed you, unless you're on a budget. If you're ever in Luca, don't even think about eating anywhere else!

The location on this map is obviously wrong because this restaurant is located within the walls of Lucca. This was one of those restaurants where every time the waiter brought something to someone else's table it looked amazing and we had to ask what it was. Overall this was one of the best meals I had on this trip, definitely the best in Lucca. The chef of one of my favorite restaurants in Firenze (Trattoria icche c'e' c'e') recommended this place, and then the owner of our bed and breakfast said it was overpriced and not very good, but we found ourselves right next to it at about the time that other restaurants were closing and we wanted to eat. Eat we did. The lamb was probably the highlight. They managed to get it soft and juicy on the inside and slightly crispy on the outside. The saltimbocca was also outstanding. I don't remember what was in the pasta I had but it might have just been fresh pappardelle with cherry tomatoes, zucchini slivers, and a lot of crumbled parmigiano. Elegant. The ravioli with ragu were also excellent, but the meat/nonmeat ratio was quite high. Not for the faint of heart. The desserts was panna cotta with berries and a sweet cream gelato over strawberries marinated in grand marnier. Some people get to eat this way every day. Life's not fair.

A very tasty, but somewhat expensive restaurant.

A very romantic and more importantly delicious restaurant. Excellent selection of sea food and vegetarian dishes. A bit pricey but worth it One of the better meals in Luca

Some of the best pasta in Lucca hands down they say. Award winning chefs and personable proprietor Carmine. There is a reason locals choose to book this place so you need to call in or email a res as I did. Opens at 19:00. Small inside seating with AC or outside. Highlights - Burrata su Tartare di S. Marzano: Fresh burrata cheese over San Marzano tomato tartare with basil oil. Easily our fav- just wow. It looks like beef tartar. It's not. Tordelli Fatti da Noi al Ragù di Carne - Recommended by Emilie. This is stuffed pasta. Really good. Not Tortellini! And Maccheroni Freschi Fatti in Casa alle the homemade wide ribbon pasta with tomatoes and cheese Ask for the house wine on tap. 1/2 or 1L carafes! Bianco, Rosso or red

Everything here is delicious and authentic but my favorites were the tordelli luccesi ( a local must try!), the pork chop w apples and the daily risotto - if you're lucky it will be the hot pink beet version which is INSANELY delicious! The owner is also very friend and speaks perfect English which is helpful if you don't speak Italian.
