She lets you choose your pressure ahead of time and makes sure to check in during the middle and can go harder or lighter if needed. I myself prefer firm pressure and her pressure is just perfect for me. I can handle hard pressure pretty well, especially with my super tight muscles on my back, shoulders, neck, hamstrings, and calves. Kim can work in targeted areas or full body as needed and do well both ways. She also provides the option of using a massage gun to help loosen up tighter muscles so she can go deep tissue. It works great for me I can handle high pressure. Kim provides good communication even outside the massage. You can text message her for scheduling or rescheduling in addition to the website above. She can also give good advice related to some stretches or good massage routines or focuses. I've only had a few massages with Kim so far but I like forward to continue working with her. She (along with Samantha) provide nice in-studio package deals so you can save money on multiple pre-paid sessions. With the paperwork completed, I was given a few moments of privacy to unclothe and get under the sheets on the table. The massage starts with oil and hot stones being applied to the arms. The heat loosens the muscles which probably makes it easier to apply pressure during the massage. The massage continues on the legs and the masseuse definitely gets deep into the muscle and tissue. The last step before turning over is having the stones on my back (on top of a sheet) for a few minutes. Once I was turned over the massage ends with the shoulders, neck and skull getting a good workout. The masseuse is professional and not very chatty, so if you are looking for some upbeat and talkative masseuse, you should probably look elsewhere. For me, I care about the amount time spent on the massage and if my body feels better when the massage is over. Both of these criteria were met, so I was a pleased with my experience. I thought the music choice was a bit unusual (instrumental piano music), but I actually like the change up from the normal "wave" music. As you can see by the picture of the room, there are no bells and whistles to be found here. If you are looking for a day spa experience, you should probably make an appointment with Burke Williams, all you are getting here is a great massage. Unfortunately for me, I wasn't able to bask in the euphoria of a massage well given because one of my co-workers decided to not stay home from work and contaminated most of the office (including yours truly) with one of the nasty viruses that is rampaging through California this winter. Rohlinism: "Sharing is caring" doesn't apply to viruses! Here is a hint for everyone: if you are sick, stay the hell home!
