" I said it was unacceptable and he just shook his head and smiled at me. I miss the Rite Aid stores. The service was better. CVS is cheap on investing in the proper labor. Before waiting in line for checkout with the cashier, I tried the automated checkout. I was actually trying to give CVS more business, and I had more purchases than would fit on their tiny little automated checkout counter. The cheap paper bags fell on the floor and broke so I said " I don't want all of these things. I just have to buy one medical supply for my daughter" that put me in the 20 line purgatory behind all the people. All the manager could say is why don't you use our automated checkout? I tried to explain to him why the automated checkout did not work mind you I have a computer science degree this is not user error. This is incompetence understaffing, and no understanding of customer satisfaction.

The pharmacy has most of what one would expect at an indie. There was a selection of OTC meds, sundries, toys, as well as some souvenirs. I was able to quickly find what I needed - the whole experience was seamless and I was out the door before I knew it. Staff was friendly - while they don't have a super large selection, it seems like a good place to get something in a pinch. It's also nice to see a neighborhood pharmacy so embedded in their community - in these days of slashing reimbursements, independent pharmacies are becoming a rare commodity. I've been using this CVS Pharmacy for about a year and have always had good experiences picking up…read moremy prescriptions. I usually have my barcode ready, the staff scans it, hands me my medication, and I'm on my way. Unfortunately, my last visit completely changed my opinion. I came in around 12:00 PM to request a copy of my medication history for my attorney. I was directed to the drop-off window, where there was no one else waiting. The employee was on the phone, then told me, "I'll be right with you." I waited patiently, even asked if I could borrow a small sign to use as a fan because it was hot, and continued waiting. About 30 minutes later, without saying a single word to me, the staff turned off the lights, walked away, and went to lunch while I was still standing there waiting. No one told me they were closing for lunch, no one apologized, and no one suggested I come back afterward. I had been the only person waiting the entire time. I left and went to another CVS location, where they provided the exact same records I needed in about two minutes. Being ignored and left standing there while the staff went to lunch without any communication was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. Because of this experience, I transferred my prescriptions to another CVS and will not be returning to this location. I hope management addresses how customers are treated because no one should be left waiting without any explanation.

This past week, I had a half day off so was able to drive out for a quick take out trip. Due to arriving early, I wanted to support a different local biz there so decided to buy me some post cards. I recalled that back in Palm Springs, post cards were sold at Rite Aid; I stopped by this Newport Beach branch which wasn't far from the Corona Del Mar Plaza where Tommy Bahama Marlin Bar is located. At first I wasn't able to find any but once having asked the cashier, she was helpful enough I found them immediately. Wait time at cashier line was fast and efficient: I would return again. I found other sales happening here at this Newport Beach Right Aid~I was in a rush so didn't have time to shop much.
