I was staying with a friend of mine and overnight an electrical issue caused a smoldering house fire (it was mostly all smoke). In the midst of trying to help get out items and dogs I ended up locking my keys in my car while it was running (this was on New Years Day). Greg came out to my location as fast as he could and opened up my car, allowing me to turn it off without wasting much gas thankfully. I ended up calling multiple locksmiths that day and Greg was the first to get back in touch with me and get to my location. I am incredibly thankful for how kind and courteous he was given that I wasn't in my normal state given the house fire, drinking the night before (since it was New Years) and the generally frustrating nature of locking yourself out of your car as well. I can't thank him enough for making that situation much easier to deal with. Yes he fixed my lock. It cost over $400 for maybe 20 minutes of work. The part was $129, labor was $165 and on top of that $85 for a service trip fee. Happy our lock is fixed, but will probably not use again because of $$$. read more

Charged me $165 to unlock my car at 4pm on a friday because it was "a holiday weekend." (Apparently the weekend starts early for locksmiths.) This was after waiting 2 and a half hours for him to show up, and he messed up the lining on the inside of the door (he even admitted it and showed it to me.) I locked myself out on a weekday after work, so my neighbor looked up the phone book and find A Carolina Locksmith. I don't mind waiting for 2 hours because of the traffic. It's his charge - $225.00 for spending 3 minutes to open the lock. I think it's because I live in a house. For comparison, two years ago when I lived in an apartment, another locksmith opened the door lock and charged me $75.00. read more

I was locked out of my house because a bottom lock to a door closed behind me. I called A Carolina Locksmith who are 15 minutes from my house to help me out and they said it would be a $75 fee. Within 5 minutes of calling, I got the door open with a credit card and immediately called and told him not to arrive. He said he was 8 minutes from my house (a total of 6 minutes driving time) and said that since he was on his way, he would still be charging me. He charged my $50 dollars for no service performed and cancelling when he was closer to his place than mine. I understand charging a cancellation fee but $50 for a round trip of 12 minutes is excessive. Do not recommend to anyone! Seek other locksmiths who are more understanding and actually WANT to work with their customers! read more
