I used these guys to change my house locks to be all the same. Kevin listened to my issue and provided a couple solutions making sure I understood the difference in price points. He came out the next morning changed out my tumblers and even went back out to the hardware store to find a deadbolt that better matched my existing hardware. For several months, some of the bolts and screws on two of my deadbolt locks had been losing their grip. I researched Raleigh locksmiths, and found very positive reviews for Raleigh Locksmith Service. I contacted them, and made an appointment with Kevin for the following day (Sep 2023). It seemed likely to me that I needed two new deadbolts, but I am not a locksmith and fortunately Kevin is a very good one! Kevin examined my deadbolts and determined that some of the bolts and wood screws were mismatched (bolts were used where wood screws were intended and vice versa). Kevin switched the hardware around, replacing a couple of pieces as needed. He also removed a small amount of wood behind a strike plate so one of the doors would shut more cleanly. And, he checked my other two deadbolts and determined these deadbolts did not have the same issue. Cleaned up very well, and all this for a very reasonable price. read more

Ed changed the locks on our new home and was fantastic to work with. He was very friendly and scheduling time for him to come out was super easy. He showed up a few minutes early (we love to see it) and was really helpful in explaining how we could rekey the locks for the least amount of money because we had 5 total locks that we wanted to match. Just moved to the Triangle area and wanted to be extra secure and re-key all of our house locks and add an additional one to the crawl space door. I sent out request for a locksmith to rekey our new home and Raleigh Locksmith was the first to reply. They gave me all the pertinent information regarding what I needed done. They were quick to reply to my questions. I booked an appointment slot and they called before arriving to let me know they might be late on the day of. This week I was given notice that my apartment was changing all the locks. No big deal. However, yesterday I was lying in bed, undressed, when someone stuck a key in my lock and opened my door, he didn't knock. I panicked. Flustered, I ran to shut my bedroom door and asked him to come back in a little bit. He had a whole building to take care of so I assumed I could have 15 minutes to gather myself as my nerves were completely shattered from having someone literally walk into my home unannounced. Not 3 minutes later *he walked in again.* Again he didn't knock. At this point, I realized I should be furious. I had been so scared and absolutely shaking from the initial situation I couldn't think straight. At this point I told him to get out and called the main office. He argued with me and told me he couldn't leave. I demanded he leave. The third time he walked into my home, he knocked first. I was talking to the office at the time and I told him to get out again. He argued with me again and didn't back off til I told him I was talking to my apartment manager at that moment and to get the f*** out of my home. His response? "Wow." You came into MY HOME unannounced and thats how you want to respond to my dismay? It should be known that my building typically caters to 18-22 year olds who go to State. Young women, some who are away from home for the first time in their life. I'm a 30-something grad student and can manage things like this but all I can think is "who is he going to barge in on next?" And heaven forbid if my young children had been present. This would have ended poorly for you. I'll be writing my management company formally and asking that they find locksmithing services elsewhere. read more

I called to have two padlocks removed and to inquired about new door locks. It took Kevin seconds to remove the padlocks and he also serviced both my exterior door locks for me. He explained about different locks I could choose from but he did nothing try to sell me on or convince me to buy new. After we moved in to our new house I knew I wanted to change the locks out. After a quick search on Yelp it seemed like Raleigh Locksmith was the way to go. I called them up and they were able to come out that afternoon. I told them the number of locks and when Ed got there he discovered it was double the number I told him since duh my doors all have the little lock in the knob and then the deadbolt. After checking out the reviews on Yelp, I elected to give Kevin Walters of Raleigh Locksmith a call. You can see the date. His spouse's relations are in town from Chicago and Kevin had intended to participate in a late lunch with them. I called after 1 p. m. However since my hacienda was near the job he had in progress on Lake Wheeler Rd. at the time, he said he'd be at my place within the hour. He was. This issue was a revisit of the same problem I had about 4-5 years ago: a malfunctioning, non-performing dead bolt. Let's just say I called a different locksmith company at the time and some $200+ later, it was functioning. Really. Kevin was the proverbial johnny on the spot and restored the dead bolt to vim and vigor in less than 30 minutes, I'd say. And for a much more reasonable and understandable price. He even suggested some do-it-yourself options I might attempt, lest the issue re-occur. Reasonably priced, fast, successful service with multiple payment options...professional from arrival to exit.
