Upon entering it wasn't too clear where we needed to go. We figured it out eventually but the empty host stand was in no way a clue. Four, five, six staff walked past as we waited. For ten minutes. When seated, service was super slow -- think 45 minutes for our first round of drinks after sitting down. Truthfully I felt bad for the servers. It was clear they had no idea how any of this is supposed to work and/or it was first day on the job for everyone. The menu was ... interesting. Did not expect a full on Mexican selection, which in itself would not have been bad. However the "food person" and the "drink person" need to figure out who they want to be - collaboratively. None of the drinks (gin mostly) went with the food in ANY kind of way. Nothing 'New American' about anything. The bar must have run out of appropriate glassware since all our drinks came in a brandy snifter. The drinks arrived after our food and we were never offered a second round. Food - eh. Unmemorable, but not offensive or disgusting. Again, would have liked a steak with my gin drink -- or maybe a margarita to go with the chippy salsie. One dish was unavailable, but not communicated at the order. We ended up needing to refill our own waters. You get the idea. As far as the space itself - cute. But small. Can't say it was cozy? Always liked the Ambassador, and the bathrooms were a fun distraction from the service. Minus the part where they ran out of (cloth) hand towels. So much potential - with a lot of revisions. Nothing I would want to do again - just like The Rave. We shall call it "The Fritz"

First time at this location. It was a decent experience…read more Food: We started with a couple of beverages: a beer for her and a hot tea for me. They carry Rishi teas, which always have great flavor. To start, we ordered the Korean cauliflower. It came out in a reasonable amount of time and had nice flavor, was served hot, and was a good portion. There were some nicely sized pieces on top, but underneath was a pile of smaller pieces that turned into a bit of a gooey mess. For our entrees, I had the Hot Bacon Salad, and she ordered the fish tacos. Both were good, served hot, and had solid flavor. Portions were generous, and we ended up taking some home. Service: Service throughout the meal was very good. They did a great job getting us settled with waters and menus. Our server was super enthusiastic and friendly, and the pacing was spot on. Nice job, Brandon. Atmosphere: It's a well-designed space. It was very busy, though there were still plenty of booths and seating options. Unfortunately, we were seated next to a small group that was video chatting and had a screaming baby on the other end. I like babies... just not while I'm eating. Overall: Mostly a good experience. I would go back, with a request to sit in a quieter area.

On our most recent visit I forgot to take the receipt since I was expensing it. I called days later and they were able to retrieve and print for me. On top of the great service I love the variety in the menu. You can always find something.

The bar is a tad small so it can get busy in there pretty quickly. We got a table right at the main entrance and we were served promptly and pleasantly. I got help with ordering, which can be common for first timers, but I got the hang of it pretty quickly. They have a nice tap list so getting a cold, refreshing beer was a must! My one critique if you will, the fries were limp.. not soggy but definitely not crispy. I didn't even bother finishing them, but the burger was filling enough that it didn't matter much. If I am in the area, I would stop here again and try a different burger, because they all looked so dang good!!

The only parking option I saw was on the street. Inside it's attractive with its own nautical character. Its food menu is burger centric and is kind of complicated to figure out. You complete a form that itemizes the kind of burger, fries, etc that you want. Even my waitress tried to help me and she got confused. Ha! I finally ordered a bowl of their beer cheese soup to start for $10.45. I then added an 8 oz grass fed beef burger with hand cut fresh fries for another $12.45. Yes, it was more food than I needed but I wanted to try the beer cheese soup which was delivered first with 4 pieces of sourdough bread. The soup was delicious being rich in cheesy flavor with cheese strings and bacon bits on top. It was a full bodied flavor soup and with the bread I could have made a meal of just this. After finishing the soup, the burger and fries appeared. It was a hearty and very good tasting burger on a quality bread bun. Also the fries were very good tasting with a good potato flavor. I couldn't finish it all but I wanted to. With a drink and tax it was about $28 before tip. I'm glad I had lunch here.
