I'm so disappointed. I had some wonderful prenatal massages my first pregnancy in California. Well…read morenow we are in a different state and I went to a place that was recommended. First, she brings me back late for my appointment, i got there 15 minutes early but she still brought me back late. The masseuse wanted me to start on my belly laying on this weird pregnancy pillow. I told her I tried that in the past and it didn't work and she still insisted I try. My whole belly was still touching the table so I told her I'm not comfortable with it. She had me on my side, regular pillow under my head, cushion between my knees and a bolster under my ankles. Nothing for in between my arms. The whole first half of the massage I was so tense and unable to relax. When she had me roll over I was able to relax and enjoyed that half. Then she had my roll on to my back. I told her I can only do it for a short period of time and that I always feel like my boobs are trying to choke me when I lay on my back. She still had me go flat on my back, put a very thin pillow under my knees. My hip hurt so freaking bad the whole time, but I didn't want to complain since I had made a stink about the pregnancy belly pillow thing. I just gritted my teeth and hoped she'd be done soon. She was so rough when massaging my neck and chest, it was so uncomfortable. Then, when I went to pay, the cashier tells me it will be $60. I hand her $80 and she holds up one of the $20's and says "for Amanda?" (The masseuse). I said I wanted to leave her $12 (which is 20 percent, more than she deserved), the cashier has to count on her fingers to figure out my change, I tell her it's $8. She gives me my change and tells me to have a nice day, doesn't even ask me if I'd like to schedule a future massage, which I don't, but it would have been nice to be asked. The whole time she massaged me I thought, why am I paying for this, it feels just as good if not better when my husband massages me. I have been looking forward to this for weeks and I feel so let down. I was in so much pain coming off the table from being on my back. *sigh* I will never have another massage here.

Lovely day at the spa with multiple services. Beautiful location with lovely and comfy chairs…read more Fresh water and snacks are available throughout the day. Great for groups. Reservations are important

Over the past 2 days I've had truly disappointing and alarmingly expensive treatments at this…read moreestablishment: to wit a traditional pedicure and a shellac manicure. I am underwhelmed. In both services, my nails were not prepared properly - i.e. cuticles soaked trimmed and shaped, nails scrupulously cleaned and prepared for the polish/shellac. The final result on my hands is that the shellac never hardened, and peeled up off the (uncleared) cuticle, blistering, lifting and sloughing off the nail completely when I showered. Literally less than 2 hours after the service my fingernails look worse than they did when I walked into the establishment. With regards to the pedicure, the sole of my left foot blistered and peeled, leaving a sore spot that is painful. Lovely that they give a (cursory) salt scrub. Delightful that they offer scented paraffin. How civilized one can get a glass of wine. Bollocks. I want a mani/pedi that doesn't cost a fortune and that results in sleek, well groomed extremities and not in a pile of smelly plastic shards on my desk! I will be returning to this establishment tomorrow to lodge my complaints. And then I'll head to my usual 'in and out' nail salon to get a REAL mani/pedi. I am very disappointed.

I spent the most delightful and relaxing hour with Julie. I had booked the appointment for a…read morereflexology treatment in the hopes of getting some relief for foot pain. Julie suggesting supplementing the reflexology appointment with a massage to bring it to a one-hour visit. She took the time to review with me the benefits of the different treatments. She also assisted me I choosing where the massage might be most beneficial. It was well-worth it. When I left after a blissful hour I was able to walk without pain. It turns out my issue is more serious than what a single reflexology treatment can offer but it was enjoyable and may very well become part of a multi-prong plan.

I have been seeing her on a regular basis for over a year now and she has treated me during my pre-natal and post-natal phases. I have various musculo-skeletal issues, and she worked with my physiotherapist to provide the necessary treatment tailored just for me. She is professional, kind, knowledgeable and has great technique. I would absolutely recommend her to others. The only considerations I would add are: 1) if you're like me and desire an extremely intense amount of pressure/deep tissue, then you might need to supplement what Julie provides with some extra kneading from a ball or roller...or the elbow of a weight lifter. ;) 2) if you want more of a spa experience with some scented candles and the like, then you may not get that, but her room is still very relaxing (I like scented oils personally, and she has used some with me). That being said, I have gone to massage therapists who put an incredible amount of pressure and have gone to spas, but they all lack the technique that Julie has. Julie is definitely the best I have come across so far and will keep going back.
