I have been taking my dogs to dog zen for years, some of them have been older dogs and Mary and Taresa, have always been kind and gentle on them. Once they got their new salon it was a lot more comfortable for the dogs, and they can take more dogs now and it's much bigger, my dogs always look beautiful and smell great when they get home. read more

This place was horrible. The woman who greeted me was so rude. I asked who would be grooming my little boy and she said whoever gets to him.. There were at least a dozen dogs walking around behind the counter and the place was dirty. I had this apt. scheduled for about 3 weeks so thought it was odd she didn't know who would groom him. She said it would be about four hours. I decided against leaving my dog told her she was rude and received a kind "whatever".... WOW read more

I bring my big white Akita here and they do a great job every time! I can't believe how white and clean she is. I would recommend this dog salon to anyone. I dropped off my dog at this salon for a 10AM appointment. The owner said that my dog would be finished by 2-3PM and would call me when done. I called at 3PM because I had not heard anything. I was told that she has not been able to get to my dog because one of her employees had to leave. She didn't know when she would be able to get to my dog. I was upset and just went and picked up my dog who had been in the cage probably since I dropped her off at 10AM. All the owner had to do was call to let me know that her employee had left and that she might not be able to get to my dog today. I would have understood the situation and made another appointment. Not receiving any kind of call was poor business on the owner's part. I will not be using this groomer again. read more

They are reckless and careless. They cut my dogs ballsack and didn't even say anything. No oh sorry we had an accident or anything. They still charged me full price! The cut was crappy. It's like they got his sack stuck in the trimmers! I have to take him to the vet now. Never taking my dog back here ever again!!!! read more

I had taken my 7 year old goldendoodle to this salon for a hair cut. He has sensitive feet and after checking in on him the lady on the phone just kept repeating how bad of a dog he was. Instead of calling and saying he wasn't doing well, she just kept repeating how he was bad. I would have much rather have had her call or provided better customer service. Instead my dog was traumatized. I have his hair cut every 3 months and never have heard some one say he was bad. I had told them before the appointment that he needed scissors on his feet and not the shaver as he doesn't like it. Again, just absolutely AWFUL and rude customer service. Please never take your dog here. You will get a traumatized dog and a $160 bill. and they didn't even finish the job read more

I've been going here for years and I once went somewhere else due to scheduling and it was a bad experience. I have older dogs that need extra attention and are harder to work with because of their age and they always do an amazing job here and are very patient with them. read more

Very disappointing experience. I dropped my little dog off for a Saturday morning appointment that I had waited 3 weeks for, but after being treated rudely (like I was a bother for disturbing them), being told it would be at least 4 hours before I could pick him up, and seeing how incredibly overbooked they were with stressed out dogs everywhere, I took my dog and left. The environment smelled bad and cats we're running around the front lobby. Groomers were scolding dogs for barking but I could only imagine their anxiety at being crammed into an overbooked space. I would never take my dog back there. read more

Clearly they have enough business when they are curt over the phone when you're trying to make an appointment. They didn't have anything for more than a month and when looking at personal calendar to find what could work, the person said, "So are you going to book or what?" We went with "what". Shame because they do a good job and clearly have a lot of business. read more

We took our 2 dogs last week to A Dog Zen Salon for grooming, bath and teeth brushing and although our golden doodle and Wheaton terrier were a handful for them they did a fabulous job with them, definitely the best grooming job we've had done! Our golden doodle is a rescue and definitely has issues with strangers and of all things water, but they handled her the best they could and definitely gave her the best groom/clipping we've ever had done with our golden doodle. I'd suggest if you have 2 or more dogs to book them on separate appointments instead of taking both at the same time. So the only negative thing is that we were told our dogs we not their type of clientele, guessing because our golden doodle was such a handful but it was kind of odd being basically told your not welcome back, very strange, but I based my review based off the job they did which was A+, sadly it sounds as though we're not welcomed back based upon being told our dogs don't fit their standards read more

I just tried taking my Mastiff here to be bathed and he was there for 2 minutes before I took him home. We walked in and there were about 10 dogs (small to medium) freely wandering the salon and dog beds all over the place. Looked like they weren't there to be groomed, but were the owner's dogs. I don't know that for sure, but seemed to be the case. My dog was nervous, but I gave her his leash and she pulled him in the back. I didn't feel good about it and wanted to make sure he was okay so I stepped outside and watched through the window. While she was taking him back, she hit two other dogs with his leash. She then proceeded to try pushing him into a medium sized crate (he's 160 pounds and 4 feet tall). Another gal came and started helping her literally push him in. He's strong so they couldn't and when they looked up, they saw me in the window and I immediately walked in and took him. She said if he won't get in the crate that he can't be here. I wouldn't have left him anyway and encourage those who drop off their dogs to watch through the window for a moment prior to entering or after dropping off your dog. Please make sure that you see how others treat your pet when they think no one is looking. read more

We took our pure bred Havanese to this salon since he was a puppy and it seemed odd that we would drop him off at 8:30 am and he would not be ready for pick up until after 3 pm. We should also have noticed that he would be groomed differently each time. We asked them to give him a cut that would be specific for his breed and they gave him a cut for Bichon (he's not a freakin poodle!). We tried to make an appointment for him recently and they would not answer their phone and their voice mail was full. Thank God! We decided to go to another salon in Star (A Dogs Day Out) and found out that A Dog Zen had NEVER cut or cleaned inside our dogs ears. He had an outer ear infection. If you love your dog like we love ours DO NOT take your dog here! read more

We took our Yorkie several times had to leave our dog about 6 hours each time. This last time July 25th left my dog 6 hours noticed that our dog didn't look much different they barely did anything. Won't ever go back; I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Horrible service I wanted to call and take him back but really leaving our dog for 6 hours. I didn't want to give it any stars. I don't think I could ever take my dog anywhere else to get groomed. After a horrible experience at another groomer, I was hesitant about taking her to a new groomer. The ladies at A Dog Zen do an amazing job and the cut is consistent every time. My cockapoo's fur is easily matted and these ladies do an excellent job of removing the tough-to-get matts. My dog is very shy and anxious around new people, but A Dog Zen does a great job of making her feel comfortable there. I highly recommend A Dog Zen Salon to all dog owners. read more

I went here twice with my dog, a small dog who's nervous around big dogs (was attacked twice) and where there are lots of dogs in one spot. I told them the problem, but really no accommodations were made. They had one big room with about a dozen of their own dogs present while she was being groomed. My dog hated that place and had three bouts of diarrhea this last time. We just now went to another groomer who was nationally certified, knew how to do a poodle cut, and was considerably cheaper. They made the appointment for late in the afternoon when there were only a few dogs at the salon, a place that separates large and small dogs. My dog loved it, had no diarrhea and showed real affection for the groomer. Will never go back to Dog Zen. read more
