A couple of years ago I lost my spare key for my e-bike. When I contacted the manufacturer in Canada seeking a replacement key, they told me to send my remaining key to them via mail and they would make a copy and then send the original and the new spare key via mail. I don't know what the turnaround would be. Yet that would have meant that until I received my original and the new spare key back, I would be without a key! What if their package became lost and I would never receive either my original key or the additional replacement key? Not good at all. So much for riding my e-bike then! I visited Everest Locksmith this morning and they cut me two keys from my only remaining one and they work perfectly. Price wise, well worth it to me. Had a great experience here with a very old steamer chest, with a dual lever lock. George listened carefully to my problem, stated clearly what expectations should be including a price range for the (time based) work. The estimate was in the range my research indicated to expect. We dropped of the trunk, he told us he would work on it on Tuesday. On Monday I got a call saying it was opened and they made a key. Cost was well inline with estimate. He exceeded the realistic expectations he had set in all ways. One of the key things I think about when doing a review is: would I return? and the answer here is "yes". read more

We definitely recommend A Everest Locksmith! Fast, friendly, professional service. Moved into new rental location in June 2022. Front door key/lock kept jamming and we could not open the door. Also wanted locks re-keyed, as landlord should have done. We called Georges and he scheduled a Saturday service call. Fred arrived, explained the issue and did not try to oversell. I have been going to this locksmith for various reasons for years, and they are top notch. I was there yesterday expecting to have to buy a new car remote (I put mine through the wash) because I had purchased a new battery for it that didn't work. Instead of taking my money, they tried a better battery ($9.10) and it worked when they could have made $250 on a new remote. Even that price is so much cheaper than the automobile dealer! The most over charging locksmith I have ever seen. My experience with them was an outrageous service cost for 3-5 mins of work. $125.00 plus tax for a service charge, this is way to expensive for a service charge, other places charge $85.00. A tradesmen, like an electrician, that has certification and went to school to get their learning and licenses don't even charge this much. In my personal case, I should haven't even been charged half of that as the "tech" took a drill and filed a latch plate for about 10 secs and done. I chose them only based on that it was a minute drive from their location on Bank and so I assumed that would benefit me on the cost as well. Best part was they asked to move the service call appointment to an hour earlier as the tech was in the same building, yet, no discount taken into consideration. Not in my wildest dream did I think I can get charged for $141.25 for seconds of work. Learnt my lesson on not getting an estimate beforehand. read more

Fast service and great price, got a replacement car key half the price of the dealer.

Went to make some duplicate keys. Service was not good. They left sharp edges on the keys and when I told them, they did a quick job and it still had some rough edges. The person at the counter seemed annoyed saying his keys come like that from the factory. It is an excuse as he can polish it. One key they made has a hard time inserting into the key hole of the door chain lock. Canadian Tire on the other-hand does a great job and you never have to go back (not in my case). I recently had some keys done by CT without issue. But not good service at Everest. read more

Changed the lock and handle on our outside door. Works fine but seeing the same lock and handle in stores I feel we were greatly overcharged. I realize labour costs and it was great to get it installed right away but it's a relatively small job for what we paid. read more

Fred and his team were excellent. We have an older type of thicker door with an unusual type of lock - when it started acted up with got advice from another locksmith that we could not replace it and would have to buy an entirely new door. (Our door is solid and in perfect shape - this would have been badly wasted money!) Thankfully, Everest knew what to do. They have designed a lock to work with this type of door and were able to immediately replace it. They had what we needed in stock and worked quickly and safely - all were wearing masks. Called Everest because of the reviews on this page. I have a Schlage lock on my front door, that the key was just spinning. When I called I told them the type of lock. They told me they could fix it. They told me the cost for the call, and that parts to fix it would be an extra fee. I agreed and went ahead and booked the appointment. The guy showed up and looked quickly at the lock and said I would need to buy a new lock. Being a single mom on a budget, I couldn't afford a new lock and just wanted to repair my current one. The guy sat on his phone watching what looked like YouTube for my lock. They said they don't carry parts for these. Considering I mentioned the type of lock when I called, I feel they should have informed me of this when I made the service call. Then, a second guy randomly showed up in my house out of no where. He was extremely rude and I had to tell him to leave. The other guy would try to be calm with me at times, and then was raising his voice at me other times. The guy ended up replacing my battery and set my keypad for me, and telling me I could no longer use a key in the lock because they don't have the part. Ultimately, was not a good experience. Rude people, and couldn't/didn't fix the problem I called for. Should definitely warn customers before they call that if they don't have a lock sold by this company, they can't fix it. read more
