I recently ordered 960 sq ft of Elite Pro Sod and he ordering process was seamless. The only reason why they didn't get five stars is because they didn't inform me that I had to place an order before noon on order to get next day delivery so I had to wait until Wednesday to receive my order. Other than that, it was all good and I received some very nice pieces of sod. I still had 32 extra pieces that I don't need but it's always good to order more just in case you need to make some extra cuts. read more

In total I ordered over 3200sqft of the ballpark blend to do my backyard. The price was extremely competitive and the sod was perfect. The rye and bluegrass stays green pretty much year round but died off in the dry spots. The bermuda dies back in winter so it's kind of patchy but looks great when it comes back in spring. It's only died where I had bad gopher problems so no issues with the sod. I did notice that it is pretty heavy with nutsedge though. I have to manually pluck each nut every year or else it starts to take over. Other than the nutsedge it installed perfectly and the delivery was on time. I recently ordered almost 1100 sq ft of Tifway sod from A-G. I had placed the order (online) around Xmas time and had set it up for the following week for Tuesday (right before NYE). They are closed Sunday and with the holiday weekend I didn't expect anyone in the office, but I was still hoping I would get something that says a time frame by Monday close of biz. I received my paid invoice through email but that was it. So, Monday rolls around and they had called and left a message stating they couldn't harvest because of the weather. Makes sense it was pouring all day Monday. I called back to reschedule but could only leave a message for the person. Tuesday comes and still no call. I decided to call later to see about my rescheduling. Was able to speak with someone who said they attempted a return call.. but I didn't have any missed calls (not saying they were lying, simply stating that I never received a call on my end). Rescheduled for the following week since the rain and holiday were there. Not the reason for not giving 5*. Setup the delivery for the first Monday after. Got a 7-9a window and was ready to go. Monday I got up extra early just to make sure my prep was good and cleared a spot for the delivery. Well, luckily I did (moved car, etc) because I was finishing up my coffee and hear a forklift. I had my blinds open so I peer out the window and low and behold, a forklift with one of my pallets at 7:20a. Great! They were early in the time frame but there was no call. I didn't hear the truck because he had to park down the street but if I hadn't seen him or moved my car he would have just dropped it right in my driveway. Luckily I got out there right before he finished lowering the fork down but I wish they would have just called on the way or something. I see why other people were stating they just drop it in the driveway and why I wanted to get a jump start before they arrived. Grass is beautiful, rooted real quick but make sure you stamp down EVERY little area. You'll notice within a few days if you missed an area, a lot of times you can stomp with your foot. I went with a winter install to help it root quicker than in the harsh summers. It's been 2 weeks and it's about ready for a mow now. Looks solid and so green and soft. Dog loves it. Yes, I have had a weed or two but it's highly unlikely it's from them. The winds blow everything around here at this time of year so I suspect that. Quality of grass seems amazing and the great thing about this grass is it lets you know its thirsty before it goes brown. Looks way better than my front yard now. I'm not familiar with sods or types of grass for that matter. So, I researched and asked around, only to find myself even more confuse. I called AG Sod Farm (found them online). I spoke to Stefanie and she is not only knowledgeable but patient. She offered a lot of helpful advises. She suggested variety of sods base on my preference. I decided to get their own Elite plus sod, which is a blend of fescue and bluegrass because I wanted my grass to stay dark green all throughout the year. No other nurseries I called including Home Depot and Lowes sells Elite Plus, they have either Fescue or bluegrass but not combined, and yet their prices were so much higher than AG Sod Farm. Delivery was free (if you order more than 1000sq ft), flexible and on time as well. I'm very pleased with my transaction with AG Sod Farms. As you can see on the pics I posted, my yard looks great! Elite plus is thick, lush, dark green and can withstand moderate to heavy traffic. I have already recommended AG Sods to a lot of my friends. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. read more

Really impressed with the quality of the sod and company! I ordered 720 SF of Elite plus Fescue that arrived 1/22. AG sod gave me a delivery window of 7:20-9:20 and the sod arrived at 7:45. The driver Cole was great, he offloaded the sod quickly and placed it exactly where I requested. He even took some extra time to give me some tips that greatly increased my efficiency and "partially" saved my back. The sod was fresh, thick, consistent and a beautiful shade of green. The HD pissed me off, and I needed sod. I called these guys up, and they said while they normally have next-day delivery, it's their busy season and they could get me sod Saturday (this was Tuesday). My wife was busting my onions about trying to get our sod laid ASAP, so I asked whether they had anything sooner. They said cancellations are frequent, but not guaranteed. I didn't make a purchase at that time and continued shopping around. I called back, same deal. I never left my name or number. About two hours later, they had a cancellation, went through the effort of finding me on their caller ID and called me back to offer a Thursday delivery. The delivery was free (orders exceeding 1,000 square feet of sod) and the price was by far the best in town - WAY cheaper than the HD. And ... the driver showed up dead center of the delivery window promised. I highly recommend A-G for their great customer service and reliability. read more

Lets be honest, this material is perishable in no time, especially in hot weather, so depends how you treat it, the outcome depends on it. I've been buying sod for several years from SGS and had issues with the product a couple of times, but when I complaint, they got on it right away and took care of me. They are very ethical and fair. I like their prices and I have happy customers. If you see weeds growing in your lawn after wards, don't blame the sod Co. or the gardener, it's the ecology. Wind, neighbors that have neglected yards, animals can transport weeds in their droppings or even animal fur. Etc. but weeds can be controlled with good information and the right treatment. Their sod sucks! Just about all of the 240sqft I bought has died even though I water it daily. Tore apart when I was laying, almost no dirt foundation on the rolls. Almost like they cut it too close. Next time, Westcoast Turf in Winchester, CA. Lesson learned! read more

Ordered two pallets, delivery was delayed because of truck break down, however it was eventually delivered. I felt sod was dry but took it. Some became yellow next day but sod came back to life after watering constantly for 4 days. My water bill will be high. I came up short roll wise & tried to get 10 more, but they would not deliver the sod when they were to come pick up pallets, unless I paid for cost of pallet load. That was out of the question since they were coming any way to pick up pallets, but haven't yet. That was last month, May '18. Sod looks pretty good now just a few brown spots but should recover when it spreads. Review would have been better were it not for the few issues mentioned. read more

When I placed my order I was assured I would be able to call when I had my delivery time I could call the 800 number and have the sod delivered in the afternoon. My Husband and I are not home until the afternoon evening so having sod sitting in the hot sun all day would ruin my $1000 purchase. When I called I was told not only could I not change my delievery time that was scheduled for 5:30AM-8:30AM, but I was also told that I could NOT cancel my order. The woman I spoke to was very rude. When I called back to talk to another person, they ingored my calls until I called from a different phone number. I ended up e-mailing the manager where she told me there was nothing they could do and would NOT accomidate their customer! Worst costumer service ever!!!! read more

Do not under any condition buy sod from this company. Their staff are poorly trained and lack customer service skills. Unless you are a lawn care professional that can distinguish between different types of grass you will order one type only to get something else delivered and unless there is a problem you will never know the difference. I bought the Elite Plus from them got the Tiffgreen delivered (unsuited to my climate it promptly died) and the company spent the rest of the time giving me the run around as to why I got the wrong grass. They invited me to get replacement seeds (too cheap to replace my lawn) I rang their office and was told to come get the seeds. I called prior to going and was told to come pick up my seeds. Got to their office "sorry we have no seeds in stock". Word of advice save yourself the trouble and buy from someplace else. read more

Best customer service ever. I ordered sod over the phone from AG Sod after reading its 3 reviews. The order taker was patient with a novice sod orderer and very helpful. The delivery guy was within his window and called 20 minutes before arriving so I could be awake. Everyone was so nice. So a couple hours later I've got all these guys helping lay the sod and I realize I under ordered (my fault). I called AG Sod and the woman spent time researching every store near my home that received a delivery of Elite Plus that morning! She found a HD 3 miles away and gave me their phone number. Got the needed rolls for a MUCH higher price but was able to get it installed with the crew still there. I really appreciated each of the people I had contact with being so nice to work with and so professional. I got instructions from the phone person and the delivery guy that was consistent with my installer friend: you must water it every single day for 14 days all the way through to the new root zone or else it will die.
