Destinations were the Mingus Mountains and Cottonwood. It was an all-day tour. We had great weather - not too hot and not too cool. Two Angry Ape jeeps transported part of our group. Owner Tom was one of the drivers. Word to the wise: 5 people do NOT fit comfortably in the Jeeps. It works well for 4 people, 3 plus driver. The 5th person is crammed in the middle of the back seat with zero legroom. Fortunately, we had enough other vehicles to redistribute people, so no one had to be that 5th person for long. I went on a Pink Jeep tour in Sedona a couple of years ago. That was a lot bumpier and scarier than this one. There certainly were bumpy parts to this tour, but none of them scared the heck out of me! A private Jeep in our group had trouble negotiating some of the bumpier areas, but the Angry Ape jeep drivers had no issues. Tom is fun and personable, with lots of stories to tell. He kept us laughing the whole trip. His skill as a driver is very obvious. His worker (unfortunately, I forgot his name) was also very skilled. My husband and I had a great time!

The tour guide Joseph was so kind and full of energy. The video you watch when you get there is a very heart felt explanation of the passion to continue this community. They own 800 acres and the property is built on 20 acres, it was built between 1971-1975 for the main spaces that are shared. 45 people live there but could range to 80. They show how the products and structure are made. I had no clue about silk casts and loved the hands on understanding and history. They have concerts, events, gatherings. Etc at the amphitheater. Check out the website. The cafe is closed. You can stay as a hotel guest overnight. They offer apprenticeship also.

Clearly what the original architect had in mind many years ago never came to fruition as it really hasn't changed in years. Is appears to be a small artist community but we didn't see anything going on at the moment so couldn't tell if it id still active or they make everything south in Scottsdale at Cosanti. There is a gift shop where you can watch a brief video on the history and learn about their wind chime creations. Personally I've received many of the wind chimes over the last 20 years for housewarmings or Christmas gifts. Each is unique. The greeter in the gift shop was friendly and stated there is a tour available as well. We didn't have time for the tour but purchased a couple of small gifts. He suggested visiting the Scottsdale location as well which is called Cosanti. I had no idea it was located in Scott's well. Will check it out.

We had the chance to taste some truly delicious and unique spirits, enjoy a beautifully crafted cocktail, and engage in fun conversation. Deborah was engaging, knowledgeable, and made the experience even more fun. Learning really can be enjoyable. The tasting room has a charming, well‑stocked shop with a great selection of spirits, fabulous mixers, and other fun items. We picked up a few things to take home. Tours are offered, but we were having too much fun right where we were. Stop in. You won't be disappointed!

A couple days ago, my bf and I participated in our first "Puzzle Ride" (think escape room meets…read morescavenger hunt while riding on a golf cart). It's a new activity for the company and we happened to be visiting Prescott for the day so we gave it a shot. We chose the intermediate puzzle, Hijacked by Science, and we ALMOST completed it! But, there were only 2 of us and a typical escape room game works best with at least 4 LoL. Anyway, we had a great time w our Puzzle Master, Shawna, and her helper, Joaquin. Both were friendly and fun and only as helpful as the game allowed. ;-) I would definitely recommend this game for adults OR families... just choose the game according to your group. (There are different difficulty levels and I believe up to 14 can be accommodated).
