Since booking the tour, it's been great because you get a food and drink voucher with your purchased ticket. There's ample parking once you enter the train depot, there's a museum and gift shop you can check out and their restrooms are clean. The train is well serviced to include the passenger cars, the venue itself is clean and well maintained. Just be mindful if you can spare 6 hours total, it's 3 hours one way, and 3 hours heading back to the station. You are encouraged to arrive an hour early prior to departure so you have time to eat your food and check out the site itself. What I also liked is I got a notification of possible road closures so the notification was helpful. Once on board, your seating number is on the tables. Also, they do offer alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks (sparkling cider) as well as a tray of crackers and fruit. Don't worry they do have restrooms on board. Overall the experience and scenery is worth it.

Great ride good people ~ AMAZING SCENERY ~ need to get fans or water mist during the warm months for people waiting for their ride - as well as the employees working outside.

Went for our anniversary and was a great little get away trip. Highly recommend adding the wine tastings (if in season) and lunch at the cafe was great! Recommend getting a mudslide from Pete if he is your train attendant!

Amazing fall views.

Amazing 4 hours tour. Chris (Sedona cabin) was amazing, friendly and fun. The other tour guy was pretty knowledgeable. Thanks for the fun experience.

They claim these pictures aren't their caboose. They 100% are and I've got proof. Poor management to not just say they messed up and will do better instead of blame it on a customer mistake.

This is honestly a must see for central Arizona. The Verde Valley and Oak Creek Canyon is the best parts of the state. The railroad gives a wonderful view of the area. The train is lovely and comfortable. I spent most of the tour in the outdoor car which gives you the full view. Royce was a wonderful guide and was extremely helpful. I would suggest the late train that comes back at night. Going on an old school train into the dark desert is neato.

We loved this train ride through Verde Valley and Canyon. You get a nice container of very good snacks and a champagne toast. You can have lunch at the train depot before you leave or take it on the ride with you. You can also buy drinks and snacks from the very friendly and helpful staff. You can sit comfortably inside or stand/sit in the open air car throughout the whole ride. The views are gorgeous . You go over old bridges, through a tunnel, and you see an abandoned town and train depot while the train engine switches sides.

The scenic drive to Verde Canyon/Clarkdale alone made this trip memorable. Allowing my dad to have his first train ride - priceless.

Such a fun 4 hr excursion. Accommodations were first class! Travelers are greeted with a champagne split and a 'snack' that includes cheese slices, grapes, fruit, crackers, sliced meats...yummy!

A highlight of our Arizona trip. Arrive at noon to enjoy the pre-loading process. Byron was a 5 Star host full of historic facts and humor. Our bar hostess was super friendly. The white wine was delicious. The music and taped history playing was relaxing and enjoyable. Each person was given a huge snack. I would do it again. By the way, when you order your food online in advance, you need to stand in line in the gift shop to pick it up. You can eat before the train leaves at 1:00 at one of the outside tables offered or wait and eat it on the train. All of the food ordered was fabulous and fresh. My FIL LOVED the pulled pork sandwich. Way to go owners and managers of this establishment.

2nd time here. This time we reserved the caboose. So much fun. We had big comfy seats. Our own server for the six of us. She was very helpful and knowledgeable. Great snacks and drinks. Scenery was spectacular. Can't wait to go back. Highly recommend.

The guy doing the education was great. You need to get him a microphone. Music on train was great. Snacks were wonderful. The couches were so comfortable. The only bad thing was that the tacos were too Greasy. No veggies..just a lump of oily meat in a tortilla. Otherwise...5 stars.

We read that there is a recorded tape, history, music ? on the train. Is that throughout each car and continuous?…

On our ride, there was a live person doing the narration. There was music throughout but it wasn't overly loud. While my dad was out and about from inside to outside, I was able to nap and nod.

It was such a relaxing train ride. 2 hours up and back through the canyon for a total of 4 hours. We saw lots of gorgeous rock formations. Craig was a very knowledge and personable guide as we rode through this canyon. Craig pointed out so many natural formations. He showed us a bear den, mountain lion den. We looked out for river otters but didn't see any. We also saw a beautifully made bald eagle's nest and we did see a bald eagle flying by our train on our way back to the train depot! Craig gave us the history of this railroad which was so interesting. We were able to go outside our train car to the open air seating to have a more "closer to nature" experience. Shine was our bartender! As soon as you walk in the train car you will see a really really nice bar. Shine was super accommodating, friendly and so helpful! Of course it was a really hot day and he said he'd take care of us if we needed any extra water. The car was super comfortable and cool with A/C. As soon as we walked on and sat in our assigned seats, we had a small bottle of champagne and a delicious charcuterie tray for each of us. There is a bathroom in each car. Go early to see the little town before your ride. This is a great trip for Seniors, families, really all ages. It's recommended to go two hours before your train departs but we arrived an hour before and had plenty of time. There is a gift shop and outdoor seating while you're waiting for departure.

We paid for living room seating, but we got "dining room type seating" The train car seating is pre assigned and if you are a party of two, as in you and your spouse/friend, you will be seated on the dining room type seating. Those with parties greater than two, you get the living room seating. The company needs some clarity on this matter when selling tickets. There was a big comfort difference between the two types of seating and we weren't told about it in advance. Also, I will point out that none of the living room type seating is located next to the on board toilet, but some of the dining room seats are right next to it. I can tell you there is nothing like a line of six standing next to you while waiting for the WC as you're trying to look at the canyon wall as you eat your lunch.

It should be noted that with a couple of exceptions the wines are all seem to be made in the Willcox, AZ area which is located in South East Arizona. We visited the following tasting rooms during our week long visit to the area. 1. The Jerome Winery 2. Arizona Stronghold 3. Merkin Vineyards 4. Winery 101 5. Pillsbury Wine Company 6. Tantrum Wine 7. Winery 1912 8. Salt Mine Wine 9. Carlson Creek We found wines that we enjoyed at each of these with focus on the Syrah and Syrah blends. Most of these red wines are very smooth and silky with a fruit forward flavor. We found these wines to be actually better than many you would find in the Mclaren Vale region of South Australia, which is famous for their Syrahs. Our favorite hands down were the wines from the Pillsbury Wine Company. Each of these winery's charge between $12-15 for a tasting but most, with the exception of the Jerome Winery and Winery 1912, waived the tasting fee with a purchase of a bottle. We also noted that Tantrum Wine and Winery 1912 did not offer water with their tasting which I believe is pretty important. All in all if you enjoy wines and wine tasting the Verde Valley Wine Trail is a must do.

They picked us up from our hotel, made several stops including clean bathroom breaks and couple gift shops. Overall, the tour was amazing. Although we only spent 45 minutes at a horseshoe Bend, we were able to take some awesome pictures and walk around. But definitely the highlight was Antelope Canyon. You can only go on a tour here with the Navajo guide and our guide Ray was fantastic. We spent about 1.5 hours at lower Antelope Canyon. He really made the tour fun, informative, and he took the best pictures. The photos do not do it justice. The experience was just unreal. Each term that we took we were in awe. The downside was our tour guide Brandon. Although he was very friendly, he didn't seem that knowledgeable. Maybe he was having an off day but there were a couple times that he stopped mid sentence while telling a fact and even ended a fun fact with blah blah blah to finish up his sentence. At one point, he even started chewing on a candy or something while hooked up to the microphone. This was really annoying. We still had a very great day just a couple things that didn't make it a five star experience. Did you have a lot of options for tours and their office is located centrally in the uptown area.

Located in cottonwood about 1 hour south of Sedona. Fun fun fun! I want to go again 10 times!…read more This is usually a self guided kayak excursion. Ben came with us today, a special treat and he is amazing, had knowledge of the river, plants, birds. He made sure everyone was safe and had a good experience. The time on the website and email are slightly off. It says 10:00a to 1:00p. This is more than enough. Meeting time is 8:45a and you need to be at meeting area by 9:00a. Then you get on a shuttle for a 10 minute drive to go up river where you will launch. So you car is at the end point of kayaking. We got a tandem inflatable kayak which cost about $150 for 2 people. There are taxes and don't forget gratuities, in cash. Don't know if they take venmo or Zelle. The adventure...so most of it is easy slow floating. There are a few spots where it flows faster and you may have to steer trees and rocks. We came in last week of August, so low water season. The river is only 3-4 feet deep in the majority of places. The weather was perfect today at around 70sF near 9:00a and around 82F at 10:00a. High is 88F at 2-3p. It rained in the last few days so we got very fast flow and completed our trip from 9:00 to 11:15am ish. We were down changing and in the car by 11:30a. In the 2.5 duration, you may get out on land halfway and take a snack / water break and stretch legs for circulation. We were told that high water season is spring. Something about May being the month where they let water out so water is lower then as well. The Verde river provides water to Phoenix. You can be all levels and come. The guide will give you general instructions in the beginning and provide life vests. All ages kids and toddlers can come. If your kid is smaller than perhaps age 12, you may need to bring your own baby or kid sized life vest for them. Your butt and arms, and bag will be wet. They suggest a zip lock bag to hold your phone and wallet, but bring any backpack. It will get a little muddy from your feet (just clean it at home). Definitely need hat, sunglasses. Suggest to bring 1-2 liters of water and snacks. You have time to eat 1 hour in on the land. Suggest you to wear swim suit or quick dry T shirt, and board shorts (for surfing, boogie boarding) or quick dry hiking shorts and water shoes like Teva. There is a lot of trees on the route but you'll get sun. They do not take more than 11-12 people at a time. I hope this helps. I look forward to coming again.
