This horrendous experience is more in due to the administration (or lack thereof) The midwives were honestly the only part of this place that kept me from leaving. They are all kind and do genuinely seem to care about natural birth. However when it came time for my turn, I was blind sighted. I was at home laboring when I call them for help and I am immediately met with utter disgrace and disregard. A midwife I had never met and the patient care coordinator Patricia were constantly calling me and being extremely demeaning towards me all of a sudden. Now they are interrogating me on the phone saying that "I don't seem to be in labor" or "you're not in enough pain". I'm not sure how someone can make these claims over the phone but that goes to show. They continue to speak about a head medical director that is making these decisions, I've yet to know who this person is or how someone I've never met before can make decisions about my labor. After trying to beg them to let me birth there, and being turned away I had to improvise. I haven't even gotten to the worst part. After I was forced to give birth at a hospital since they had no intentions of helping me, I NEVER got a call from anyone there to ask if I was even alive. After I asked for my $2200 back, (which was meant to be for PP care) I never heard from them again. This now starts a 4 month ordeal where I am repeatedly calling and showing up at the center to try to get an answer about the money that was practically stolen from me since I obviously was not going back there. It wasn't until I called the authorities to the center that I got a call back. The receptionist told me that Patricia was not there and that she could not call her and did not know if she worked that day. Yet when the authorities came, Patricia immediately opened the door for them and called my husband to tell ask him why the cops were there. There wasn't even a check, my money was eventually sent back via Zelle so the delay is practically inexcusable. I beg you to please do a home birth and get this business closed. It's places like this that put a bad name to birth centers.

My journey started trying to do an IUI. I've had 5 full-term pregnancies, and my cycle was just…read morethrown off. I just needed a simple fix ... After they have you come in before your cycle starts and then after it starts... then cancel your next appointment and then you have to wait for another -to come in before and after -- to have you come back in, and back in, and back in for all these tests.....all different locations... Each time billing my insurance and me paying a $150 co-payment. Every test was spread out so it would include another "office visit billing"under the insurance..... I paid each of my co-payments in the office. Yet, still received Past Due bills for my co-payments. After they ran me through the cycle of completely UN-needed and unnecessarily ordered tests... The first office visit they had as a FULL complex visit and bill my insurance at the highest trier ---ALL THE DOCTOR did was a rectal and a breast exam WITH NO GLOVES...After all this is done, and they can't bill anything else to my insurance --- I would become a SELF-PAY.... They call and tell me they don't have any appointments for 2 or 2 and half months! I asked to switch to a different office. You can never call and speak to anyone. There are 3 woman who guard the phones for all locations. They are RUDE ASS HELL and completely non compassionate about this whole process... You can never speak to a nurse or a front desk woman. When I kept calling asking to be switched to a different office. I was hung up on. The office staff in Margate is RUDE. Not personally at all.. I went into the Pembroke Pines office and everyone there was SO nice. Told me I can switch - and they had an appointment THAT Monday! Well ... GUESS Who called Friday and told me I wasn't welcome at ANY OF THEIR clinics anymore? I asked for my medical records ...and I was sent 3 other patient's PERSONAL medical records with addresses, phone numbers and insurance information - and complete records of semen analysis, tests results and blood work with PERSONAL INFORMATION - MIXED IN WITH MY RECORDS!!!! HUGE HIPAA VIOLATION ! This place just wants to get as much money out of you as possible and bill your insurance dry. I went and Saw Dr.Woods at IVFMD THAT week. She told me none of those tests were needed...and a rectal was highly uncalled for! Within 12 days from my first appointment with her -- I was confirmed pregnant !

This got me thinking about the IVF process and how difficult it is to find a good center. After all, you don't know what you don't know when you first start your search. TRUST ME you learn quickly. When choosing a medical facility for IVF there are many factors aside from the doctor. You need to know about the facility operations, ultrasound techs, blood techs, nurses, doctors not just your doctor but rather the entire practice, locations, hours, and more. IVF is extremely challenging emotionally, physically and financially so having a good understanding of who you are partnering with to help you create life is critical. I had chosen IVF Florida and underwent my time mainly at the Miami office (best location). I say that because I had to go to other locations from time time, but this one by far was the most warm and welcoming. Dr. Christie had incredible bedside manner, my ultrasound tech was amazing (Alex), and Clare at the front desk always had a smile for me at check-in and check-out which might not sound like much but when the IVF office becomes your second home it's imperative to have people around you that don't make you feel like a number. Feeling human through this process can sometimes feel impossible so having the support and positive personality from all personnel goes a long way. I'd highly recommend checking out this facility!
