To start they are crooked. The old owner was wonderful. New owner is just not good people but I…read morewon't get into that. In reference to being mechanics they are not good at that either. First inspection they did on my car I asked them to plug a tire, which they plugged, if I remember correctly it was a rear tire. Then told me they recommend my front two tires be replaced however the tread on the tires on the front was more than the tread on the rear tires which they just plugged. Made absolutely no sense. Then my next inspection i knew I needed brakes so they replaced the brakes and rotors and it squealed horribly. I didn't notice right away because it was inspected in the fall which quickly became winter and windows were up.. but once the windows were down with better weather I noticed right away. I was told by others it would wear off so I drove it for quite sometime waiting and that, but it never happened. So took it in and was told something got stuck between the brake and rotor which is what caused the noise. So they did replace on their dime, however, the car still makes noises it never made before I took it there. After my last experience I was thinking it was the last time. Then I had a situation where I needed their assistance and. They were not even close to helpful. I was treated rudely when I walked in. Not a single acknowledgement for any of the 3-4 employees standing behind the counter. Not a hey can I help you. Nothing. They just looked at me as if they just saw the president kind of nodding to the owner who came out and didn't want to hear what I had to say. Wanted to chalk every issue up to my battery being old without even taking a look at what o was asking. So needless to say I haven't had one good experience here.

I've driven by there a million times, and it has this old charm about the building. Like there's no frills. Just a good old fashioned shop. Which is what I needed: I have gotten burnt out of these new shops that seem like they're more about trying to upsell their services and are more interested in making the customer comfortable in the waiting room. I don't want that. I just wanted a shop that's there to do shop things, and who's going to give me an honest assessment of what I need and what they can do to give it to me. And sure enough, Tookany Park Auto did exactly that. They were very accommodating, they were quick to get me on the appointment book, and were even quicker to get my car serviced. I dropped it off at 8am, I got a phone call by 9:30am letting me know what was needed, and the car was ready before noon. On top of the quick turnaround, I had a known issue with the car that a different shop pointed out to me would need to be fixed to pass inspection. The other place also told me it would cost upwards of $1,000 to fix. Tookany Park pointed out the same problem, and said they can fix it...for a total cost of $108. I'm no mathematician, but that's the kind of estimate that makes me want to go back to a shop. It's not that they ignored the problem, or failed to notice it. It's that they chose to fix the problem with an aftermarket solution, and not try to make their sales quota. I feel like I just did business with an honest mechanic today, and I am bringing my car there any time I need service done moving forward. There is no question about that. You should too.

They are not big talkers, but that's not what I pay them for. They always go above & beyond and in this day and age, that is hard to find, especially when cars are so expensive to maintain. They will not try to "up sell" any additional services and actually look for ways to fix your problem for less - if possible. The building isn't that great but the service inside beats anyone else in the area. So far they've been able to take care of every automotive need we've thrown at them. The adjuster was very elusive on the schedule of service, but John and Ryan made it a point to be honest and upfront with me so that I could plan accordingly. They also make your experience very positive. They go out of their way to make it easy to work with them regarding pick up, drop offs, etc. They will even offer to drive you to a nearby place while you wait for your car to be done. Their prices are beyond reasonable. It's rare that you come upon a business where the customer is first. Yet, Chris' is just that place. They not only do auto body repairs, but car maintenance as well. Plus, they are nice people to work with, courtesy and honest. I highly recommend their shop.
