    Blended mango margarita

Small little restaurant close to downtown Madison. Very authentic. Of course there's complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa has a kick but still delicious. I order the blended mango margarita. Just perfect especially for a hot day. I ordered the 3 amigo combo. It comes with 1 taco, 1 tamal, and 1 enchilada which was just perfect. Service was pretty quick. I would definitely come back again.

taco tues deal is $2.75 for tacos!!!! i do like the carne asada tacos but the al pastor was disappointing. I wish they had better sauces because that would've really elevated the tacos. they also seemed to forget about us so took a while to get our orders in but it was busy

Being from California, I was excited to try this place out as there doesn't seem to be many options for Mexican in Madison. I walked in and was immediately greeted by a kind host. I could smell the delicious food upon stepping in, and the warmth inside was a much needed reprieve from the snow outside. I asked for a Jamaica drink, and was pleased upon tasting it. Just like my mother's. This gave me the confidence to order the alambre, as it's a favorite of mine back home. It comes served in a skillet, with a side of beans and rice, and 5 tortillas. This would be too much to eat for many, but I enjoyed it so much I ate it all in one sitting. My only comment is that I'd like if a side of salsa come with the food. I had to make do with the salsa from my chips and salsa. Luckily, since it was just me, that was just about enough. I will definitely come again and can't wait to try what else they have to offer.

Cute little place right off State Street! I haven't had a bad experience here. Everything is super tasty and typically service is fast. I just went again a couple days ago and they were very short staffed but it was a nice night and the delicious food made up for the short wait! I highly recommend the chimichanga - can't go wrong with a deep fried burrito. Their chips are also excellent and pair perfectly with the guac!

Ok, so all of my fellow Dallasites will probably hang me when I get back home but...this Mexican food was better than any Mexican food I've had in Dallas.....Texas.....did I say Dallas, TEXAS?!?! Yes ladies and gentlemen and everyone in between, this Wisconsin establishment beat all of the Dallas restaurants in Mexican food flavor and quality. I ordered the 3 amigos dish with an horchata. I was pleasantly surprised when the waitress even asked if I wanted my horchata without ice. Wha wha whaaaaat?! I'm so used to restaurants wanting to give you as little bit of horchata as they can by packing the cup with ice. On to the important things. When they brought my order out, I was expecting to get a side of rice and beans. What Mexican restaurant doesn't include rice and beans, right? Well, this dish didn't need it. First bite of the pork tamal, which is topped with a tomatillo sauce and crema, hit me with a ton of flavor. Next up was the carnitas taco. You can't really go wrong with a taco. Tortillas are bigger than some of your traditional street tacos. The chicken enchilada with the red sauce was nicely filled and sauced, being topped really well. All in all, a really good meal, the best I had in Madison......did I mention Dallas? Try it out y'all!

I wanted to give it higher star rating the second time around, but we waited for over a half hour on a slow Thursday evening at 8:00pm just to get our drinks. Food came out about another half hour later. They apologized for the delay, but it was the same thing as last time. I like their food (my husband... meh), but it's only a good option if your okay with taking an hour, or few, for dinner.

We had called ahead to make a reservation which wasn't needed even on a Friday night for a big party. There were 10 of us and they were pretty organized and quick with filling drinks up and getting orders. I ordered the quesadilla with chorizo. Our food took longer than normal to come out than most Mexican restaurants I've been too but we did get a basket of chips and salsa to munch on. Our food came out pretty much at the same time which was nice being a big party. My quesadilla was huge! I was only able to eat half of it. I wasn't a big fan of it because there was more meat than cheese so for those of you that like meat - it's a great deal. The rice and beans were basic like most Mexican places. The lettuce came with a cream on it - not a fan. I didn't get any sour cream. It's not in a nice building. The inside is outdated. You have to walk in the very back of restaurant to use the rest room. The food is just average.

    Al pastor burrito. So good!

Came here for taco Tuesday! Food was reasonably priced and incredibly filling. The only downside was that the timing of the orders were off and I ended up getting my dish 15 minutes before the two other people I came with got theirs even though we all ordered at the same time. Would definitely recommend ordering ahead online to avoid this.

Great small Mexican joint. Nothing fancy, but nothing expensive either! My go-to is the sope, and make sure to ask for the salsas!

After trying different variations from other restaurants in Chicago and Madison, I have to say they have the best carne asada fries (titled Loaded Fries under the shareable section). The fries are wedged with an assortment of quac, sour cream, their own cheese sauce, and pico de gallo. What made it so good was the ratios of the ingredients and the cheese sauce. The portions are enough for two people to share, though you may leave with clogged arteries. Although at times there may be a language barrier with staff, they were attentive to our needs and checked on us regularly. A fun fact is that they are located behind the grocery store aspect of the place. Vibes were great.

GF got 2 steak and one chicken tacos. She said steak was good but chicken was flavorless. I got lengua and cauliflower. The lengua was not cleaned well or seared so it was just gray meat with veins and other sclera in it. Cauliflower was typical bar food "deep fried buffalo" style, but on a taco. Guac was decent. I think the gal making margaritas mixed up sugar and salt and our drinks were salty. Poor service - total of 3 people attended our table but nobody returned to check on us. Total experience $45.

Happy hour everyday which means half off select tacos and beverages. Like $3 Pacifico's and $5 for two tacos. Vegetarian tacos with potatoes were well prepared on corn tortillas. It looked really good when we saw their post on Facebook right before we went. There were only a few people there when we arrived, so we were seated right away. The waiter came pretty quick to get our order, but unfortunately, when we tried to order the burger week burger, they said they weren't making it. This was really the only reason we stopped here for lunch, so we were slightly taken off guard by this. Since we were already there, we decided to order the lunch special of two tacos, rice, beans, and a drink for $12. It took a little while for the food to come out, but everything tasted fine. The carne fresco tacos were quite tasty and I would definitely order again. Overall, the food was fine, but it was a disappointment that they didn't have the only item we came there for. We ended up ordering ahead from a different restaurant participating in burger week and went to pick it up so we at least got to try one.
